Suburban Extended Stay Hotel - South Bend

The first night there was NO HOT WATER and the second night it was warmer but not hot. The side doors were room key locked but people were smoking right outside the doors and propped the doors open all the time by putting rocks in the door frame to come and go without their room key.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days while visiting a family member at a nearby University over Easter. I want to RAVE about the hotel staff - super friendly, very helpful & accommodating. The hotel had a convenient location, but next door was a burned out restaurant - not the greatest 'neighborhood vibe'. It was also a bit 'short' on amenities - we were […] expecting basics like more than a tiny bar of soap & no shampoo at all & a bit more generous offering of towels (two) for a 5 day stay with no cleaning at all for the entire stay. That being said, all needed items were available at the front desk. Our room was not the cleanest when we moved in & going for 5 days with no service would have been doable if the rooms came with brooms, dust pans & extra garbage liners, but they did not. Also no iron/board though, once again, the staff took care of us. The staff would be the reason we would consider returning, but the lack of daily service & general condition of the room & amenities for the daily price of the room will make us think twice. Had a kitchen w/full size fridge, 2-burner stove top, microwave and dishwasher. Nice room. Nice décor. Only a couple of little observations--coffee maker still had the coffee pods from previous occupant and, just like home, toilet paper roll almost empty.

The Suburban had comforts,nice kitchen.and pool. It had easy access to Notre Dame campus and the toll road. Lots of nearby familiar restaurants.

Needed a clean place and a bed for a weekend at ND. For the price this was the place. Bare bones on the ammenities and not the most comfortable bed, but for just needing a place to lay your head for less than 50$ a night you could not beat it. Very Clean.

We initially booked with this hotel because it had the highest ratings among the more economical hotels. We were not disappointed. The workers at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The hotel was within walking distance of a Subway, Starbucks, and Jimmy Johns, with other restaurants quite near. excellent stay; Quiet with large rooms, clean, and good bedding, and kitchenette facilities. A few items typically in room were not there, such as hair dryer or facial tissues, but were quickly provided at front desk. recommend forfamily especially.

The place was clean but the amount of air freshener they use does NOT take into consideration people with allergies or asthma. I probably would not stay there again. The room I stayed in had too much fragrance and I was up all night coughing and wheezing. The carpet was damp/wet near the AC unit. It will start to get moldy at some point. Our shampoo bottle was half used when we got in the room. You can hear everything that is happening around you.

Only 1 soap in room,1 shampoo, not enough t.paper in room, very skimpy on sugar for coffee, quality of coffee was awful! Generic perhaps? Our five-night stay was hassle-free. The staff was helpful and friendly. Basic necessities are provided (soap, shampoo, dish-washing soap, toilet paper). The kitchen was adequately equipped (microwave, 2-burner cook-top, coffee maker, full-size fridge) and supplied with utensils. It is true that the walls are thinner than one would like (could hear […] neighbors when they talk loudly and footfalls, especially from upper floor). But the noise level was not unbearable. Being an extended-stay hotel, housekeeping is done weekly -- actually a more eco-friendly approach and perhaps encourages guests to be tidier when they travel and not waste too much by being frugal with "disposables." This hotel definitely gives you ample bang for your buck. The location is good -- plenty of dining places nearby and close to the colleges and university, just a few minutes' drive to the airport, mall area, and other stores. Read more
