If you are coming from the airport, you will need to take the train to Amsterdam Centraal, then a local tram. SUGGESTION; PURCHASE THE 24 HOUR TICKET RIGHT AWAY..IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY!!! Get off at Surinamesplien stop, cross the street, then walk OVER the canal about 5-10 minutes, then the hotel entrance will be on your left. However, once you are […] there, you CAN get around quite easily via tram. The hotel staff ALL were extremely helpful and wonderful. Unless you are very hungry, the breakfast, although excellent, is not worth the 19.00Euros. There is a wide "all you can eat selection"..but if you want just coffee and danish, better off to get your day started and find a bistro. 1st floor restuarant/bar selections good, service maybe a little slow, but I was not in a hurry, so I didn't care. Skyy Bar bartenders VERY GOOD and very friendly..and it is not too noisy that you can't unwind... Have them make you ANY of their signature cocktails, and/or if you have a recipe of your own, they may actually try to make it for you!! It's a bit out of the main part of town, but easily walkable to tram 1 or 17 at the same stop or a bit farther to tram 2. Also, it was close to the airport train stop. Overall, I liked the hotel; it is a good value for the money. It is in the suburbs, but 10 minutes on the frequent tram and you are in the center, so it wasn't such a big deal for me. I also liked the lounge area where they serve coffee, alcohol and food. The coffee was good, as was the beer, and the food was also pretty good. I didn't like the vibe […] of the skybar (disco redux) so didn't go there. I did use the swimming pool, which was nice but crowded on the weekend. On the down side, although the staff is perfectly pleasant, they don't seem to know very much and are not very responsive. This goes for all staff, from the front desk staff to the wait staff to the staff in spa. For example, I asked the front desk staff to book me a trip to Keukenhof, but no one bothered to tell me that the flowers had not bloomed yet due to a cold and long winter. First trip to Amsterdam and I would not stay anywhere else again! Fantastic place to be on the outskirts of city center. Facilities were immaculate with gorgeous luxury bathrooms and everything you could ask for in a room! Easy to navigate by taking the 1 or 17 tram from Centraal station or off line and a short walk back to the hotel. I walked alone […] at night and early morning in order to get to the tram for early trains and coming in from the bar scene with no feelings that my safety was compromised. For those afraid of being away from the city center the tram ride is peaceful and takes you past beautiful canals and sites. Dont let the 20 min ride to Dam square be the reason you dont book!! Very clean and comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Tram is less than a 10 minute walk and only about a 10-15 minute ride into central Amsterdam. We loved being just outside of the city, it was nice and quiet so we slept soundly. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful room! Great service. However, you need to take quite a long walk from hotel to tram and with rainy netherland weather it's inconvenient. The center if sthe city! Basically where all sights are and meeting space for tour groups are, is pretty far -- 20 mins or so by tram depending on the tram schedule and traffic.

This is not really a hotel. It is more like a place to stay for young workers who need a temporary apartment. We were first given a room with the bed being a fold out couch. We said that was unacceptable and after arguing with the staff, who said nothing else was available, and they were full, they finally gave us a room with two single beds. But they […] weren't even single width and they were shaped such that you would roll off. And it was impossible to keep the beds close together. The wireless does not work. They will provide a cable for wired ethernet, but the cable or connection in our room was intermittent. Some days we got no fresh towels even though we had left towels off the hangers. They just took those and left no clean towels. Many days we got no new shampoo nor soap. They will supply you with coffee for two cups. After that each coffee cartridge is one Euro. The elevator is cramped and if you are on a low floor, make sure you get on the elevator last so you can get out without making everyone else get off. Overall, I can't really say anything positive at all. If you are a tourist don't stay here. If you are a twentysomething working in the neighborhood, then ok maybe it could work for you. This was our first European trip. Everything was relied on internet reviews and maps. We took the wrong train from the airport. We were suppose to get off close to the hotel but instead went to Amsterdam Central. We were lost in there for a good hour trying to get back to the right route. We managed to find the tram (you can take the 1 or 17 to Surinameplein) […] and head towards the hotel. It was a good 5-10 min walk. We got to the hotel and we had to climb these long steps to get to the front door w/ our luggage. Very exhauting. We got to the hotel around noon so our rooms were not ready. Bummer. However, we sat by the bar and had lunch. Service and food was good and inviting. The hotel lobby was very nice. There was 2 computers you can use for free for your needs. You step outside to the garden area where you can sit and chill. You can see why they call it a Fashion Hotel. We were so tired and a bit irritated we just wanted our room. Finally, received the hotel key and the room was FABULOUS. It was WORTH the wait. The room key controlled the electricity. Very nifty. After a good long nap, we went to explore the city. The room was very comfortable w/ blackout curtains. We're glad that our hotel location was not within the busy city. We found a coffee shop, De, Prijs, across the street from our tram stop by our hotel. Good quality and service. Everything came to place. The hotel was the icing to the cake.
