The hotel is well furnished and the room is clean and comfortable. The hotel is near JR Namba and has easy access to Kansai international airpot via Limousine bus from OCAT STATION just next to the hotel. There is a convenient store nearby. However you'll need to walk for about 10 minutes to go to Sinsaibashi, where most stores are.

I stayed at the hotel Monterey Grasmere for two days after travelling from Tokyo on the Shinkansen. The only downside I experienced was that the Shinkansen only goes to Shin-Osaka and transferring from Shin-Osaka to Osaka and then to the JR Namba station was a little bit of a challenge, but can be figured out with some clear pre-planning. The hotel […] is a few feet away from the JR Namba station which was great considering I had a JR pass and this station has a direct line to Nara which was awesome. A few feet away and at the basement of the station was a large super market with so many different foods, treats, hygiene products, etc... I definitely stocked up the in-room fridge. There is also a accupressure place on the third floor of the train station that was well needed after a long day of walking. The other cool feature was the hotel's close proximity to the major shopping arcades, restaurants, night life and major label brand stores. The most important feature was that the rooms were huge compared to Japanese standards. I stayed at a double room with one bed and felt very comfortable. It was quiet, very clean and spacious. The lobby and staff were very classy and there was a key card only access to each floor for added safety (not like Japan should be a concern, but a great feature nonetheless). The hotel location is excellent! Less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel to the OCAT bus terminal. 2 minutes walk to a large supermarket which opens till midnight.

Based on the price, and the lobby and hallways, we expected a great room, and were disappointed. The room was just OK, definitely over-priced. However, staff was very helpful in arranging difficult bookings and luggage transfers, and the location was great. Had we gotten a better deal on the price we would have been satisfied.

Centrally located next to train, bus and subway. Beautifully appointed lobby, rooms and restaurants. Nice art museum but don't think about taking a picture. Old english church reconstructed in lobby on 22nd floor of high rise. Amazing!

Very clean hotel and in a great location. Subway entrance is very short walking distance. Everything is within walking distance. Also, if you are lucky you will catch a wedding at the chapel that is located inside the hotel. I caught two..just be ready for the ringing of the chapel bell.

I came to Osaka for a conference, and when I flew in I was extremely nervous since I have no wifi available. The hotel was literally right next to the train/bus station which really is a life saver. (Also there's a market right by to save my hungry self the first night.) Absolutely convenient. The location of the hotel is ideal, right next to JR Numba Station, which makes the train trip so easy. The hotel room is tiny, but I guess it is the norm since it is Japan. The carpet inside my room was visibly stained and looked dirty. The hotel lobby is decorated in good taste.

It is a walking distance to Dotonbori and shinshaibashi. The train and bus station is just underneath so it makes my traveling so much easier. The only things they gave me a smoking room instead non smoking room,. Also, the bed is not as comfortable as the Monterey hotel in Kyoto.

I liked the hotel a lot! Very convenient for doing cool things in Osaka (Dotonburi, etc.) and so close to the subway, going to see the Aquarium and museums is a piece of mochi =) The room felt a lil small for two people with two large suitcases, but all in all, I recommend this hotel. Very nice hotel, clean and very convenient location. I chose this hotel based on others' review. I am glad to chose this hotel. I ride bus from Kansai airport all the way to Namba station and hotel is just 2 minutes away. Dotonbori is also few minutes away.

This is an update to our review of this same hotel last year as we were back in Osaka this past week and stayed there again. We picked this hotel originally for its location near the Namba Station. Namba Station is only four stops away, on the subway, from the Osaka Train Station (shin-Osaka) where the Shinkansen (or "Bullet" trains) come in from Kyoto […] and Tokyo. Namba is in the central city area and close to shopping and dining areas. It is easy to move around the city from this location. The hotel is comfortable (see comment below), easy to get to, and depending on where your room is, will generally have some great views of the area since the rooms start on the 26th floor and up. We have still not eaten in any of the restaurants in the hotel. The beds did not seem as comfortable as before. My wife complained how hard the bed was (& pillows) and did not sleep well. The desk staff had no problem with English if that is your first language. This is an upscale hotel and the beds could be better. While we would stay here again if necessary, we might look for another hotel with better sleeping conditions next time. Read more

Very nice loby when we enter the hotel. Location very good, just above bus station where take us from/to KIX airport. Also JR Namba dan Subway station just next door, very convenient. Shopping street Shinsaibaishi also just 5-10 minutes walk. The room very clean and at decent size not too small and not too big just nice. View from Hotel room was spectacular […] from our view. My only suggestion is for room TV entertainment, adult channel preview should be more restricted to prevent family with children to be more cautious. Currently if we press one of button in the remote will direct you straight to adult channel and free preview for about 15-30 seconds, family with children should be more cautious. Overall very satisfied and very recommended when visit Osaka. Will come again for sure. Read more

Got a great deal at a stay here. Great location, underground walk to Dotonbori and Shi Sai Ba Shi. 4 stop subway ride to Umeda are where the locals shop and eat. Easiness to airport bus at OCAT and to Kyoto. Exceptional and prompt service throughout entire staff. I would look for a hotel in Umeda area next time but best choice around Namba area!

This was a great hotel. Very convenient access to the JR station and bus stop from KIX is right next door. Yes, the rooms aren't as large as many westerners expect, but you are in Japan! My second stay at this hotel in two years. Excellent location for getting around Kansai region and getting to/from airport with the OCAT just in the next building. Very clean rooms and facilities. Great value. Free wifi in room. Food store and mall with various restaurants in the lower level of the building complex. Staff spoke very little English and […] I speak very little Japanese, but together we made ourselves understood. If you would like to stay extra beyond your 11am checkout, there is a small fee of JPY1000 per hour. Refrigerator in room. Flat screen TV but Japanese language stations only. Location - close to OCAT bus terminal, which seems to be the easiest transport from KIX. Go out the North side (you should see the freeway overhead), make a right, and it's about 50 yards/meters ahead. Fully covered access to Nanba walk, the underground mall/walkway, so if it's raining, you won't even get wet. It's about a 8 minute walk to the midosuji […] line, which runs north/south, and a few more minutes to reach the Dotonbori area. Rooms - rather spacious by Japanese standards, with at least the outside facing rooms having nice views (with the entire hotel located on high floors). Clean, well appointed, and aircon/heater instructions in English (a nice plus). Slight negative is there's no wifi in the rooms, only wired internet access (with provided cable), so you might not be able to connect your mobile devices - there is free wifi in the lobby though.
