The hotel is conveniently located close to the center of the city. Lots of small stores, shops, within walking distance. If you want to take in some local color, a walk towards the turnabout is recommended. The hotel room was relatively clean, quiet, comfortable, safe. Too bad the faucet dripped incessantly and the water heater did not work to its full […] potential. Good thing the water temp was tolerable. I would recommend the hotel if you are on a tight budget. By no means a 5-star rated facility, but the staff is friendly and helpful. It's about 25-30 minutes to Mactan Airport. About P250-P300 one way (Approx $7.30 based on current exchange rates). Cabs are plentiful along with other public utility vehicles. The main shopping mall (SM Cebu) is only about 15 minutes away. The pier to Tagbilaran, Bohol is also 15 minutes away if you elect to go on a day tour. Be prepared to go a 2-hour foot-ferry ride. We had a great stay. Read more

It is a typical 3 star hotel. Everything is old but basically fine and clean. The service is pretty nice. It is not in downtown but only take 8PHP jeepney to go there.

Hotel need to be painted and renovated to up grade the Shower ( Valve stems are rushtiy, to many molds on the walls, no hand towels,no floor towels) the bed is very uncomfortable, New painting is needed for the Hotel, Overall, it needs up grade for its 3 Star level. Won't recommend this Hotel for people who are use to clean Hotel....

The housekeeper has far to much to do to keep the rooms in top condition. Thiscan be seen most clearly in the bathroom. There is mold growing in the grout areas between tiles.The sink area needs to be upgraded. Very cool people and always smiling, when I got to the hotel. Everything so closed to that hotel and very safe. Malls, places to eat and entertainment. One day, I went out at 12:00 am to buy food by myself with no problem. Streets are safer than Manila. The hotel also has various massage terapists which I used twice for my bad back and only for 350 […] pesos, that is less than 10 dollars for two hours. They have two computer that you can use for pennies. For food, I used to go to Joliebee or go to the Malls. Water was hot or cold and I never had any problem. There are Taxis outside the hotel waiting for you in case you want to go to places. I do recommend it to anyone...even people with families. Read more

The room was very nice for the price. Was very satisfied with my room. The location is close to malls, and resturants. Within an hour drive to beaches and boat rides. Staff was very friendly and room service was prompt. I would diffenitley go to this hotel again.

Before I wrote this review, I forewarned the front desk of Diplomat Hotel when we checked out. I told them that Diplomat Hotel was and probably will continue to be a haven of sex tourism in Cebu City and they admitted to be aware of the fact. Needless to say, any male foreigners who tell their wives that they are going to Cebu City, this is a hotel […] where the wives can start checking on them. On the other hand, on top of its low rates, it has a good location to the center of the city which naturally provided it with excellent transportation system and shopping areas. If you are liberal-minded and won't mind what are other people's business, Diplomat Hotel is a good option. People of Cebu City including the hotel baggage attendants (particularly Corro & Dennis) are very helpful and friendly for information. This would otherwise be a good hotel if it wasn't for the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. Nice washroom, great shower, good sized rooms and good location but all 3 rooms our group stayed in reeked of smoke.
