"Weekend Getaway after GF takes the CA Bar"
03/02/15 Brian Y
Just a couple miles South of Mendocino, and a 10-15 minute drive into Fort Bragg. Not sure where to start other than this place was amazing. We have definitely added this place to our weekend getaway trips. Will definitely be coming back. We stayed in the Bayview Suite from Friday-Sunday. We arrived after taking Highway 1 up from San Francisco and I was pleasantly surprised to find a parking spot with my name on it. After checking in and given a brief overview of their grounds (and about their lamas!) we made our way into the Farmhouse to the second floor. The farmhouse has one room on the ground floor, two on the 2nd floor, and their 3rd room is on the 3rd floor/attic (called the Garret). Our room was very spacious and had a very relaxing feeling to it. Our was not a traditional suite, but the layout served to separate the living area and the sleeping area without a door like the other room I was able to take a peak in. Their was a working wood fireplace that we used our second night and the bed was great. The view in the morning was phenomenal, overlooking their Lamas grazing on the grounds and the ocean just out in the distance. We had breakfast out on the balcony enjoying the weather and view. We were promptly served breakfast in room, and everything was delicious. There wasn't too little food, and not too much, that I felt content, but not stuffed. This is something very difficult to accomplish as I eat a lot. I only wish their was more orange juice, as that was delicious. Because of their building setup and in-room breakfast, you don't really see a lot of your neighbors, which gives an added feeling of privacy. We were originally looking to stay at a cottage type place where we would have our own stand alone unit, but Glendeven provided the perfect balance between privacy and normal hotel amenities. The only thing I would do differently is to pre-book the couples in-room massage before we arrived. Same with the reservation at their Bistro 150 for dinner. I didn't realize their Bistro would be so busy especially at the end of their off-season. And they just couldn't get through to their masseuses as they hire local massages to come and do their in-room massage. All in all, this place was fantastic, and a perfect weekend getaway. Our only regret was we could not stay another night. But that only means we will definitely have to go back!
"Difficult to leave. Enchanting is an understatement."

I could write forever about how special my stay was at the Glendeven. From the cedar fire that is lit outside morning and night so that it smells as if you are camping to breakfast delivered to your room. The small touches completed the package by showing what true hospitality is and can be. So many Inn's, hotels and lodges miss this entirely, but not the Glendeven. I had a hard time leaving for obvious reasons. Who would ever want to leave utter relaxation on the gorgeous Mendocino coast? Highly advised for any and all occasions.
"35th Wedding Anniversary at Glendeven Inn"

The location is a few miles south of Mendocino. Our suite was quite nice; well-decorated, with comfy beds and quality linens, and lots of in room amenities. Breakfast is gastronomic delight, served promptly at 9:00 a.m. in your suite, with fresh-squeezed orange juice and farm-fresh eggs courtesy of the hens that reside on the property. The main attraction, however, has to be the resident Llamas, all six of them, that roam the property with stately charm. Begin your evening in the Wine Bar(n), with complimentary wine and appetizers. A lovely getaway from our busy lives in the Bay Area.
"Glendeven Inn in Mendocino, CA"

Absolutely one of the most peaceful places we've been. Our sitting room faced a field of llamas with the ocean in the background. We felt welcomed and cared for the entire time. We especially enjoyed the wine in the evening.
"Very comfortable, clean, and beautiful inn"

The Glendeven Inn has become our favorite stopping place when we're in the Mendocino area. The rooms are very comfortable (lovely sheets), the view over the Llama park to the Pacific is great. They serve a delicious breakfast at 9am -- you might prefer taking it in the breakfast room to feast on the spectacular view of the coastline. Highly recommended.
"Great stay at Glendeven!"

Spent 2 nights at the Inn in January. Every detail and amenity was wonderful. From the complimentary happy hour to (delicious) in-room breakfast, and top-notch customer service, we felt well taken care of since arriving. Beautiful, unique property in a great Pacific Northwest spot. We'd return again and again!

I do a lot of research for our annual summer vacation so it is rare for us to be disappointed in our choice of accommodations and Glendeven Inn did not disappoint. I always try to find inns that have a certain character and unique feel to them rather than box cutter type places, Glendeven Inn certainly has a lot of the character we were looking for. We arrived about 6PM on a cool, foggy night and after a very efficient check in process we were quickly in our room. We chose the Briar Rose room which was great. Had a small deck, working fireplace and a distant view of the ocean. The room was meticulously clean, large and also had a terrific bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning which we had sitting in front of the fireplace. Truly worth a visit.

Couldn't have been more special. Private parking, lovely room, outlook was fantastic, breakfast was very unique, loved the lamas and the chickens, Only exception, we didn't fell welcome by the check in staff. We are their quests, make us feel that they want us to have an enjoyable stay
""Beautiful getaway on the North Coast""
01/08/15 Mark C Martinez, California
Glendeven Inn is a beautiful getaway destination on the Northern California coast. My wife and I have stayed here on five previous occasions, and have never been disappointed. We brought another couple this year to celebrate our 30th anniversary of friendship and stayed in the Beach Trail Cottage. John, Mike and all the staff really know how to make you feel at home, from the personal note with brownies when you arrive, to comfortable bath robes along with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. The cottage has a fabulous view looking south down the coast, as does the main farmhouse at the Inn. There is a short trail down to the beach, as well as a one and a half mile path out to a spectacular view of the ocean from the bluff. If that wasn't enough, you can also feed the chickens and llamas on the property. The Inn is convieniently located just south of Mendocino, and Fort Bragg is only a ten minute ride north.
"Excellent attention to detail"

They had our names on a parking space nearest our cabin; they had fresh-baked cookies and sherry in the common room; breakfast was tasty and thoughtful (i.e. not just the normal pancakes/french toast); the fire was set in the fireplace ready for us to strike a match. And the decor was nicer than the normal B&B kitch. They require a two-night minimum. I would say that is is the MINIMUM amount of time that you'd want to stay there. We rushed it and regretted not being able to do all of the hikes or sit in the common room watching the ocean and reading.
