great! The manager takes ownership of her hotel with pride. She takes the time to talk to each guest. I think she should train her staff on this standard of customer service because on both days for breakfast (each had different staff) no one greeted or acknowledged the guests as they entered the dining room. Happy hour was offered while I was there. […] In addition to beer I would suggest wine for us non beer drinkers. The serving tray for the snacks were the cheap dollar store plastic bowls - this took away from the holiday up-style image. Perhaps invest in a few glass serving dishes to give it that classy look. Booked rooms through Expedia. Either Expedia or hotel goofed on our rooms. Supposed to have 2 kings but got 1 king and 1 standard. Expedia said hotel's fault and hotel said Expedia's fault.

The night I checked in I developed a headache and went to see about getting something to drink so I could take some aspirin. There were no machines and the gentleman at the desk said that they needed to go to the store to get some more drinks to fill their cooler. Needless to say I was very disappointed because I wanted relief and because it was late […] & my children were already in their pj's. I wound up taking a drink of my daughters watered down drink she had earlier that day. I also found a live roach in the bathtub the next morning when I went to take a shower. Great hotel, would recommend it. We stayed 2 nights with family of 6 visiting NASA, Galveston & Moody Gardens. New hotel so very comfortable & clean, front office superb and friendly (James). Suites are perfect for larger family, good size rooms and half the price of Galveston hotels. I was extremely pleased with my stay at The Holiday Inn & Suites in Alvin, TX. The room was clean and well kept. We were close to restaurants and Galveston, TX too.

Pleasantly surprised! The hotel looked brand new. The staff was right on top of anything we called down for. It was not loud very nice and quiet even though many family were staying at the same time we were. It is located only about thirty mins from the beach. Walmart is right down the road. Easy access to get to. Very pleasant!!!

This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. I have stayed at very high end hotels. Most dont compare to how nice this hotel was. Super clean! Spacious and very comfortable beds. Staff was super friendly! I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

I only stayed one night but the room was great. The service was also great. I lost my car keys and the night desk person found them and was so nice about it all.

Room # was changed twice before leaving front desk. Finally got key and went up to room. Opened the door to an undressed man. The room was obviously occupied and we felt horrible for walking in on a naked man. We had to go back down to get new room assignment. We were never offered compensation for what happened. All we were told is "that isn't possible […] because the system won't let us assign a room to someone that isn't there". Well, obviously "the system" WILL allow that because it happened. If you stay at this hotel, KNOCK ON YOUR ROOM DOOR and make sure no one is in there before walking in. Read more

I was a little put off by the fact we had to make our own sofa bed and the bedding left for it didn't fit it. Staff was amazing, no complaints at all on them. Electricity went out the day we departed and I was shocked to see they had no backup, we had to get dressed in the dark.

The motel was clean and comfortable and quiet. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and very helpful. The continental breakfast was outstanding with a wonderful selection and very good food. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

The room was fine except for the family staying on the floor above us. Evidently they had small children and were allowing them to jump off the bed on to the floor again and again and again. The desk was called and failed to do anything about them. This continued all night long.

We booked three rooms for three families as we were on our way to Galveston for a cruise. The rooms were great, the price was right, the breakfast was perfect. Will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area again.

Everything was totally acceptable except waking up to yellow water for our morning shower. Excuse given by hotel staff, "Well, that's Alvin." I guess we'll call next time to see how the Alvin water is doing.

the hotel looks new so the condition there is very good. 2 things to mention: 1- the address shwoed for that hotel is wrong so don't follow you nevigator it will take you nowhere, I had to call the front desk to get another address and they seem to know about that issue. 2-the room we get is the not the same criterias we did ask when we did the reservation […] (an issue of hotel.com) where they just did the reservation and they bounce the bal to holiday inn. Asked for 2 queen beds room but that was not mentioned at all for holiday inn!!!! another guest infornt of me the same issue. Read more

Even though this is a new hotel and very clean, the air conditioner cycling on and off was extremely loud. The printers in the business center were out of toner and the hotel did not have any on hand.

Sometimes one HAS to travel to parts of the country that they'd rather not visit. Such was the case when we had to visit this part of Texas (from our home in paradise for a nearby family event. After much research, I chose this hotel and was most glad that I had. Although it sat literally in the middle of nowhere, it was an OASIS in a sea of brown, […] drizzling outside. The public areas of the hotel were perfect. Those included the huge, lovely great room with free hot/cold daily breakfast, and hot beverages available the rest of the day. The gym had no ventilation but was useful. After getting help from grumpy desk person, one computer was deemed unusable and the other had it's issues. Apparently, there is no one else to service them although public room for computers is perfect. We were stuck in room for most of long weekend but found the suite sufficiently roomy and comfy. Two types offrozen dinner/snack items were sold in lobby area which helped with hunger. One annoying thing happened when maid opened door in the same instance as she knocked without waiting to see if anyone answered. She literally fell in door when I pulled it open and giggled and giggled without apologizing. Hotel was fairly close to family for our reunion and I would definitely stay again at the HIE. Read more
