Upon arrival we found out that they upgraded our room. This was great news after a frustrating drive! My wife and I stayed for just one night at La Villa Marbella, in the Saigon Suite, as we were meeting friends further South the next day. I would have moved in for an extended stay if I had had the chance. Isabella and Marcus were truly welcoming and warmly so. You really felt that you were staying in the home of friends, among the sounds and sites […] of Old Marbella, a classic neighborhood of true Spain. All of "Classic Marbella" was but a short, lovely, safe walk away, through narrow streets, festooned with flowers (in January) and friendly folks. Isabella had a wonderful tip for dinner, The Orange Tree, just off the famous Orange Square. Frank, the owner of Orange Tree, was a true host, and the food was sublime. We ended up closing the restaurant, staff long gone and kitchen dark, talking with Frank and his assistant Maria, and an British couple who dine there often, sampling different Spanish brandies. What's not to like?? We hope our Scottish friends who we were meeting Winter in the Costa del Sol next year, as we will just take up a week's residence in La Villa Marbella! Brilliant 3 star hotel that would be a 4-5 star if it had amenities like room service/concierce. The rooms are done to a high standard, we love the Asian themes and made good use of the free wifi. The locations is perfect for exploring the old town and is only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The level of personal service from Marcos and his team is excellent and the hotel buildings are well located in the old town with very good access to shops and restaurants.
