It was the best we have had in a long time. Clean and in excellent repair . Like the coverlette instead of those horrible bedspreads that have got to be very dirty.. Suprised the parking lot was not plowed better, guess its just a local thing,

Great stay clean room good breakfast just went down about 9:30 eggs not hot or sausage but if down earlier would of been could of had a waffle fresh hot but decided not to oh well great overall great comfy bed

A turn of the century mansion located in Independence, MO. Nice grounds, excellent service, a wonderful breakfast, and amazing sheets. The sheets were... a microfiber blend which seemed to melt around your body, very luxurious. The owners are like family...in a good way. Privacy, quiet, beautiful, welcoming. The owners were very gracious and accomodated our needs as we were traveling across country with all the belongings of a college student. The food was fabulous and our very need tended too. I would travel just to stay att this lovely B and B; we enjoyed every moment. Thank you!

The Hawthorn was an oasis from our weekend marathon. We had back-to-back days of family events. Staying at the Hawthorn helped us keep our sanity. Jim and Wendy were so gracious. We're locals but we wanted a little getaway to celebrate our anniversary. My husband found this B&B on Hotels.com and it was a great find. The mansion is over 100 years old and is beautifully restored and decorated. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and elegant. TVs are small, but hey, that wasn't what we were there for. They also had free WIFI but […] it was a bit slow. Still again, we were there to relax and that we did. Jim, one of the owners even gave us a great recommendations for dinner. We're glad we took his advice. Breakfast was generous. Neither of us could finish our plates. But what we did manage was delicious. If it hadn't been so windy, I might have wanted to spend some time just lounging on the front porch or wandering the grounds. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at Hawthorn. Neither if us had stayed at a B&B before, and weren't sure what to expect. Jim and Wendy instantly made us feel at home, and even recommended a great, romantic place for us to have dinner. And breakfast in the morning was phenomenal! A gorgeous mansion that I can't wait to return to!

We arrived late but were still made very welcome. Super comfortable bed and fantastic breakfast. Best muffins we ever tasted.
