Cox Bay Beach Resort - Tofino

Cox Bay Beach Resort was the perfect place for us to experience Tofino. The draw, of course, is the location—the resort opens onto Cox Bay, one of Tofino’s largest and most beautiful beaches, and a prime place for surfing. We had a full kitchen (stocked with dishware, pots & pans, and basic staples like salt & pepper), dining area, television with cable, and a washer/dryer! The shared spaces were even more useful—the hot tub, sauna, and fitness-area showers were great for rinsing off after the beach and winding down, and the communal gas grills made it easy for us to cook fresh dinners for ourselves. There was a big range of ages among the guests, and it seemed like a great place to get multiple generations of a family together for a relaxing holiday. Small resort consists of about 60 units (half 1 and half 2-bdrm), in two rows from pacific beach, but angled so that all have 'the view'. New, modern facilities, well equipped galley kitchens, nice baths. Expect stairs unless on grnd fl 1-bedroom (patio opens to common walkway). Small spa, exercise room. Fanatastic walking on Long Beach which is literally […] the 'front yard'; large, hard pack sand; great exploring (esp to right side). Sunsets, etc. Bonfires allowed on beach. We got a great deal for Cox Bay Beach Resort through Hotels.com, which was much appreciated as we found Tofino to be expensive in general. The rooms were very confortable and clean and we loved the radiant floor heating and the kitchenette. The beds could have been a lot more comfortable, but that was our only complaint. The Cox Bay is a very beautiful place (better than the photos on the web!), with new rooms, modern facilities, and it is right on the beach (literally). Very high quality, well equipped accomodation next to a superb beach. Lots of families of surfers staying at the resort, but plenty of other things to do in Tofino and the surrounding area. Strongly recommended.

If you're contemplating on staying at The Cox Bay Beach Resort, allow me to set the proper expectations. First, this is NOT a resort. There is absolutely no service here. There is no valet, bell staff, concierge, room service, restaurants....you're lucky if the housekeeping staff actually cleans your unit on a daily basis. Rather than staying at a hotel, […] it's more like renting a condo on the beach. The units are quite nice and are very modern with full kitchens, laundry facilities, flat screen tvs etc. It's great for families as you can save money by getting groceries in town at the Coop Market and cooking for yourselves and able to do laundry during your stay. If you prefer a true resort, I recommend staying at The Long Beach Resort which is right next door or the Wickinnish Inn. Cox Bay does have a full workout facility, hot tub/jacuzzi on premise plus a library/grill/lounge areas. It is right on Cox Bay Beach but if you want to surf, you must bring your own equipment or rent from an outfitter in Tofino prior to arrival as there are no rentals at Cox Bay Beach Resoft. Tip: Long Beach Resort offers surfing onsite and you can rent everything right there. If you decide to stay at Cox Bay Beach Resort and would like to take surf lessons or rent equipment, I recommend Surf Sister in town. However there are many options in town as there are numerous surf outfitters throughout Tofino. Read more

This has to be the best buy for your dollars. The suite was very nice...washer and dryer was a real plus! I will definately return.

The resort was new and under development. We did not expect a lot for what we paid but we found our room spacious and comfortable. When everything is completed the rooms could easily rent for a lot more. Staff was friendly and helpful. We would return if the price remained reasonable.

The hotel is very clean and new. The ground floor unit is quite spacious for two adults and has a small patio attached to the living room. The fully equipped kitchen is excellent and has quality appliances. The only negative comment I have is that one of the Cox Bay bathrobes hanging in the bathroom has stain on it. Quiet, quiet, quiet. A great place to escape and relax. Front staff could use some schooling on friendliness. They seem to only provide minimal amount of effort and friendliness. Could be a reflection of the pay?

Right on the beach, 10 minutes outside of Tofino. Best of both worlds!! We had a double bedroom suite. It had everything we needed (and more) for our family of 4. Including in-room washer/dryer that we needed being in the middle of our trip. Shared BBQs were clean. The other shared ammenities were clean and comfortable.

Wouldn't quite call it a resort. More like services apartments with a front desk. These are all self contained apartments which are great and you can tell the units are thought out with attention to details and great finishing. Bed was way too soft and had a bad back after a nights sleep. PLEASE ensure you don't get a downstairs apartment as the wood […] walkway upstairs connects all upper apartments and you can hear ppl walking all day and night. Request an upstairs apartment. Great room. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

We were upgraded upon arrival as they overlooked the fact that we had a dog. Our new suite had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two balconies, full kitchen with stainless appliances and a lovely gas fireplace. Wonderful stay! Great beach! Great value for what we received - kitchenette, separate bedroom, near the beach. Only a few complaints - we're not people that want our room cleaned every day, but we wanted our garbage picked up and it was only picked up one of two days. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the unit, tasteful decor and cleanliness, so well equipped including two full bathrooms. The large furnished deck made the unit extra spacious for the three of us and the design and layout of the resort very appealing. We stayed for two nights for our anniversary and it was so lovely. The rooms are super modern and clean with a gas stove, dishwasher, gas fireplace and soaker tub!! My boyfriend is a cook so he was really pleased with the kitchen's set up. It is right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, packed with surfers and a 15 min drive to Tofino. […] We would definitely return and probably with others because this is a great resort for bringing a bunch of friends and then meeting up in their outdoor hot tub and later for a drink in their common room. This is a self-serve hotel, which I personally like so do not expect staff to be very present. And...you will need to wheel barrow your luggage down to your rooms. Just outside of Tofino,booked based on other reviews.It turned out to be a good choice,have to bring your own food or eat in town would be the only downside. if you wanna get away from the city great place to visit .

Cox Bay Beach Resort was a great introduction to Tofino. We loved the contemporary design of the resort and the comfort and style of our suite was top notch. The units are built side by side, but we were surprised with the quiet and felt our unit afforded us with just the right amount of privacy. We stayed with our two boys who just fell in love with […] the beach and the tide pools, and spent hours exploring, hiking, playing and even swimming (the waters were frigid) that each day ended with happy tales of new discovery. There is no restaurant in the resort but the communal barbecue was sufficient, and the en suite kitchen was fully equipped. The charming town is only a few minutes away and we had a lovely experience at the ice cream shack and at SoBo (delish!). As the suites are all self-contained, we didn't expect daily housekeeping, but they were pretty responsive to our requests (e.g., extra towels). It was a very beautiful place to stay. It was awesome to have everything you needed in the suite. I wish I had stayed for longer to really enjoy the time there. I didn't like that I had to pay for wireless, it seemed pretty petty as most places had it included. In my opinion it needed a bit better customer service, but I guess this place is used to […] dealing with surfer dudes mostly. Overall I will go back, but I will know what to expect this time. Wir haben das das Resort über das Internet gebucht. So eine schöne Wohnung hatten wir im Urlaub noch nicht. Schade das wir nicht länger dort waren, Es war alles voll nach unserem Geschmack.

Wer diese Unterkunft bucht, macht nichts falsch...sondern alles richtig!! Modern eingerichtete Appartements mit Kamin, gut ausgestatte Küche, großzügiges Bad mit Waschmachine und Trockner sowie Sonnenterasse. Ruhige Lage direkt am Strand.

Nye lækre lejligheder med alt hvad man har brug for. Flot stil (dejlige detaljer; eks. den nemme pejs, vaskefaciliteter og altanen), beliggenhed lige ved flot strand og fantastiske omgivelser (selvom det er lidt fra Tofino). Har kun godt at sige.

Der Titel sagt eigentlich alles. Ein komplett ausgestattetes Appartement (es fehlt wirklich an nichts), sehr sauber, so richtig zum wohlfühlen. Und eine tolle Umgebung, schöner Strand, Whirlpool, sonstige Freizeitaktivitäten möglich. Das Städtchen Tofino in einer Viertelstunde zu erreichen. Alle Restauranttypen vorhanden. Nett zum Bummeln, sehr schöner […] Blick auf den Pazifik. Einfach Spitze. Die Anfahrt ist lang und die Straße nicht immer in bestem Zustand aber der Aufenthalt entschädigt dafür.
