Cox Bay Beach Resort - Tofino

Cox Bay Beach Resort was the perfect place for us to experience Tofino. The draw, of course, is the location—the resort opens onto Cox Bay, one of Tofino’s largest and most beautiful beaches, and a prime place for surfing. We had a full kitchen (stocked with dishware, pots & pans, and basic staples like salt & pepper), dining area, television with cable, and a washer/dryer! The shared spaces were even more useful—the hot tub, sauna, and fitness-area showers were great for rinsing off after the beach and winding down, and the communal gas grills made it easy for us to cook fresh dinners for ourselves. There was a big range of ages among the guests, and it seemed like a great place to get multiple generations of a family together for a relaxing holiday. Small resort consists of about 60 units (half 1 and half 2-bdrm), in two rows from pacific beach, but angled so that all have 'the view'. We stayed in the 2 bedroom loft and loved it. It was my husband, myself and daughter. The location was perfect. Right next to the beach. The units were built in 2008 and had nice upgrades in the units. No air conditioning but you really don't need it there. We can't wait to go back. Great hotel. All the amenities of home. It was great that they had on site gas barbeques to use and a kitchen to prepare our own meals. (we were a bit burnt out of eating out for meals in Victoria.) Tofino has a terrific grocery store The Co-op which took about 10 minutes from the resort to get to. The beach was steps away from our room and with an […] outdoor shower and lockers for surf/boogie boards right inside the gate from the beach the set up was awesome. Then the hot tub is right there to relax after hitting the surf. The tide pools on Cox Bay Beach were super fun. Tofino is an awesome little town. The skate park and playground were a huge hit with my kids. And SoBo served up some awesome wood fire pizzas and amazing dessert. Chesterman beach was also a great little spot for kids and beginning surfers took about 4 minutes from the hotel to get over there. Read more

Hotel amazing, have been several times, only steps to the pristine beach for surfing and walks. Wish they would keep the hot tub open later than 9:00pm. I've always wanted to stay here, and it did not disappoint. The rooms was huge, with a fireplace, fully stocked kitchen and a bathtub so deep, that you lose yourself in it! The bed was so comfortable and it was the coziness of a cabin that I wa slooking for. Would highly recommend!!

We love this resort. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at it and both times we have been very impressed. It is so easy to surf and return to your room, no driving once you arrive. Kitchens in rooms are wonderful, decks are perfect. Can not say enough good things about this place.

Right on the beach, 10 minutes outside of Tofino. Best of both worlds!! We had a double bedroom suite. It had everything we needed (and more) for our family of 4. Including in-room washer/dryer that we needed being in the middle of our trip. Shared BBQs were clean. The other shared ammenities were clean and comfortable.

Fantastic place to stay especially for families as there are actual bedrooms and a full kitchen including dishwasher and w/d. Have everything good to say about this place - good location, clean, friendly staff, very stylish and well laid out suite. The only critical comment I have is that I found the bed to have a pillow top that was so thick and soft […] that I was swallowed up in the bed. The same with the bed pillows - way too much loft. Only one or two second floor suites have direct view of the ocean. But the heated bathroom tile floors, the decor, the well decked out kitchen and comfy couch, to name but a few great things were very appreciated. We had a baby and were able to set up our Superyard in the living room so she could crawl around but not get into mischief. All cleaning tools and supplies were present and appreciated. We were able to cook full meals in the full kitchen as it is hard to eat out with a baby and Tofino can be a bit pricey when it comes to eating out. I wouldn't recommend, if you have a lot of gear (especially baby gear) to stay on the second level as they are walk ups. We could comfortably fit our BOB stroller in the foyer and not have to leave it outside. The resort location is on the west coast on Cox Bay - you are steps away from hitting the beautiful beach and can see surfers. There is a family lounge where groups can get together, a fitness room and outside hot tub. The communal BBQ's are great too. We would definitely stay here again. Read more

Amazing accommodations - It is apartment style accommodations with everything that one would need. Kitchen is fully stocked with coffee grinder, blender and such. Cox Bay Beach Resort was a great introduction to Tofino. We loved the contemporary design of the resort and the comfort and style of our suite was top notch. The units are built side by side, but we were surprised with the quiet and felt our unit afforded us with just the right amount of privacy. We stayed with our two boys who just fell in love with […] the beach and the tide pools, and spent hours exploring, hiking, playing and even swimming (the waters were frigid) that each day ended with happy tales of new discovery. There is no restaurant in the resort but the communal barbecue was sufficient, and the en suite kitchen was fully equipped. The charming town is only a few minutes away and we had a lovely experience at the ice cream shack and at SoBo (delish!). As the suites are all self-contained, we didn't expect daily housekeeping, but they were pretty responsive to our requests (e.g., extra towels). This resort is absolutely wonderful. The location alone is worth the money...right on the beach. We enjoyed walking up and down this gorgeous beach and watching the surfers catch the waves. The beach is wonderful at low tide because it exposes hundreds of purple and orange sea stars. It is located a short 5 minute drive from popular Chesterman's beach, […] 10 min. drive from beautiful Long Beach and 10 min. drive from Tofino if you need to stock up on food (or sign up for a whale tour or surf lesson). The room was great (large king bed, large two door closet, washroom with a heated floor, kitchen with everything you need (fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, dish soap, utensils, pots, knives, utensils, etc...), family room with TV and fireplace and a 4 place dining room table). Awesome! Did I mention the tiles, hardwood floors and beautiful frames hanging throughout. Who ever built the place had style and didn't try to cut corners to save money. The resort also has a common room with kitchen so if you are travelling with a group of people you can eat together in the common room. It has two large BBQ's which we used daily. This resort was defenitely a splurge for us as we did find it pricey but it was worth every penny and I would do it all over again. I had a truly enjoyable and relaxing trip with my 2 year old and that in itself tells it all. We are already talking about returning next year. Read more

The condo was great. Well appointed and comfortable. We were there for 5 days...housekeeping only showed up the first 2 days. Every night when we returned back to the condo we had to call and ask for housekeeping. They need to hire more staff!! Housekeeping aside, I would still recommend it and would definitely go back.
