"This hotel survives because of tourism hotspot"
The bed was horrible, only a double bed - not Queen as adverised, and the mattress has had it's day a couple of years ago. The room is small, feels like you have to back out to be able to change your mind. The owner was a commercial actor at the time most of us were not even born, and stubornly lives in the past with clips of his adverts and places and people he remembers, all of it while one is trying to have some kind of breakfast. I guess Sedona has lost its appeal due to over-commercialization.

"Love it"
I wanted a reasonably priced hotel to stay at with my son during spring break. Rooms are not huge but they are clean and have everything you need. Dick Curtis was a pleasant surprise! Many hotels in Sedona are overpriced. I recommend staying here.

"you have to stay here"
it was awesome, there is a lady, presumably the wife, who greets you when you walk in. They have a vast amount of VHS, yes, I said VHS tapes that you can watch in your room. It felt awesome to know that there are still VCR's out there, its a throwback to simpler times. When you go down in the morning the proprietor, a former Hollywood star, regales his life and it's quite interesting. This place has personality and I would say stay here. Is it good for family? maybe not... but if its you, you and a loved one, or just some people that wanna feel good about staying in some mom and pop place as opposed to a chain, then I would definitely recommend this place.

"Sweet and Easy"
Hiking and going to the Sedona International Film Festival were our main reasons for staying at the Baby Quail Inn. The Inn was reasonably priced, clean and convenient. The receptionist helped us with our questions. I'd recommend staying here for the price, the location and the simplicity.

Small hotel - rather B&B. The owners greeted us when we came. The breakfast room is unique and dedicated to the owner's past acting career. Outdoor whirlpool was an unexpected extra. The surrounding is quiet, green and beautiful. Everything is on hand.

"older motel run by an interesting person"
Rooms are small with just a double bed. Tube type TVs with VCRs, you don't see those much anymore. It is quiet with a nice courtyard. Proprietor is ex showbiz, lots of neat collages of his entertainment career in the breakfast room.

"Quaint Little Getwaway"
Adorable little bed and breakfast; however, the breakfast part was a little iffy (continental only). Great location, cozy beds, friendly staff, and a nice jacuzzi right out front. I highly recommend this place. Out of 10 I give this place a 9.0, the only reason for any points off is due to our shower head basically being out of the shower (hard to describe), and there being a minimal breakfast (continental at best) at a "bed and breakfast". Still highly recommended.

Clean small rooms with tiny refegerator, early 70s microwave and 19" Analog TV. No DVD player...VHS only. Disappointing Continental breakfast. Dick, the owner, almost makes it worth the stay. Very inexpensive and its in the center of Sedona. You get what you pay for!

This motel was great! It was clean, very quiet, and close (central) to shopping, restaurants, hiking, and biking. The owner was most entertaining and hospitable, he treated you like you were his family. All the staff were happy, helpful and knowledgable on any topic I needed information about. For the price it was an excellent choice!

"Cute, family ran & reasonably priced"
It's a very small hotel (~12) rooms, close to the downtown area. I arrived late and didn't expect that the front desk would be closed; nevertheless I was easily instructed on how to get in. The room was small, tv was little outdated and buzzed until I hit it a few times. Otherwise, the amenities were nice and the bed was comfortable. I had the opportunity to meet the owner and he was pleasant to talk to and very informative. So much .. I would go back!! Overall, the price was great & so was my brief one night stay:)

"Affordable but basic."
Nice location (I think Sedona is probably nicer than Oak Creek to stay in), slightly off the main street, nice little hot-tub, very friendly staff, but rooms are pretty basic (though all of Sedona is a little pricier than elsewhere). Walking distance to many nice and affordable restaurants. Overall very good choice, though you wont be waking up with a view out your window - you probably need to pay a little more for that.

This is a small quaint hotel. All the necessities were available however it took 1/2 hour to warm up the TV before it would stop humming. I would recommend they upgrade their TVs to flat screen. Meeting the innkeeper the next morning and listening to his stories of Hollywood was very entertaining and interesting.

"Just OK"
This hotel was ok for the price. We knew it wasn't a resort, but the whole place seemed dark and musty. The pool and garden was nice and a good place to be if you don't smoke. Because the room was dark, we couldn't tell if the carpet was clean and we didn't want to take off our shoes. Bring your own soap and shampoo because those provided were bottom of the barrel quality. We definitely recommend this hotel for someone on a budget, and if you weren't planning to spend a lot of time in the room. But if you're looking for a resort, this isn't the place.

"Baby Quail Inn Review"
We loved it even though it needs some modern update. Flat screen TV's would be nice, although the old box TV worked fine! The place is very pristeen and the staff are so warm and welcoming! The owner, a retired TV actor, met us in the dining room/museum at breakfast and we talked for over an hour. He was very entertaining and interesting, plus a great storyteller! We would go back in a heartbeat because if the accommodating staff and the price was right!

"More Like Bed and Breakfast"
The extra touches - extremely friendly staff, potted flowers ourside each room, garden area with tables and umbrellas, room colors and furnishings like a guest room in a home - made this stop more like a bed and breakfast. Room was small with a small TV, refrig, microwave (but we didn't come to Sedona to watch TV or stay in our room) and a nice bathroom. Restaurants around the corner. Excellent muffins in the continental breakfast which we ate in the garden. Very pleasant stay!

"Comfortable and convenient"
The Baby Quail is close to all the outdoors that Sedona has to offer. It is not what I would consider close walking distance from the downtown shops, but I came for the hiking, biking, and sightseeing, and it was more than amenable to easily get to those locations. The quiet hotel also has a hot tub that I made use of each night, and friendly owners. I enjoyed my stay.

"Excellent small hotel with a great staff"
The staff at the hotel were fabulous. Ally, who checked us in, also provided help with the best hiking destinations and where to eat. Dick and his wife, Misty, the owners of the hotel, regaled us during breakfast with stories of Hollywood. The room and grounds were exceptionally clean and tidy and had everything we needed, in a nice quiet setting just off the main drag through town. The only shortcoming was that the room was a bit on the small side.

"ray of sunshine"
We arrived on a gloomy, rainy Saturday. Altho it was a good hour before check-in time, the cheerful clerk did not hesitate in giving us our room and a brief rundown of the motel amenities, etc. The room was clean, but the bed could use an upgrade. The hilite of our stay came the next day when a true ray of sunshine presented itself in the form of Dick Curtis! As the owner, this man exuded a true love of life and brightened our breakfast with stories of his show business career. The "behind the scenes"stories of the various celebrities he had worked with were quite interesting.

"Old school"
This was the description that the innkeeper used when checking us in and it's accurate. If you are looking for a fancy resort in Sedona this won't be the place to stay, but if you want a room that is pleasant, clean and well placed in town, this is a good pick. The hotel is older and certainly you can tell this. What it lacks in amenities (and it does have a hot tub, fridge and breakfast) it makes up for in the couple that runs the place. The man is a former TV and movie actor and treats you to many stories about the parts he played and celebs he knew. His wife is equally charming. The room is small, but in Sedona there is so much to do that you probably won't be spending tons of time indoors. Breakfast, served daily, is continental and has plenty of simple choices.
