Et hotel som absolut ikke er pengene værd da jeg ankom til hotellet og blev booket ind var der ikke noget varmt vand i hannen da jeg gerne ville ha et bad kortet til at komme ind af døren med virkede ikke ordentligt spa badet ved poolen var i stykker og så ud til at ha været det længe og beskrivelsen af hotellet på hotels.com stemte ikke overens med […] hotellet men det lå godt centralt det er også det eneste positive jeg kan finde ved det hotel. "Meget gammel hotel"
Ikke som ses på billederne, hotelet er meget gammelt og er lige ved at falde sammen. Karkkalaker i værelserne, gammel møbler og gammel senge betræk. Efter første dags ophold gik vi til recptionen for at skifte værelse, de var meget flinke og gav os en anden værelse, men det var lige så dårligt. "Good value for a stop over"

The Royal Asian Lodge on Sukumvit Soi 8 is clean, basic rooms at a reasonable rate. Soi 8 is located at the Nana BTS station. It has average rooms in a very quiet end of the Soi. It is perhaps a half kilometer from Sukumvit so with luggage you will want to take one of the many Tuk-tuks waiting. These are pretty much shared by all the hotels down the street and are free. Check-in was fast and friendly. There are many restaurants on this Soi and it is very near the nefarious adult entertainment areas of Nana Plaza and Cowboy. I just used it as a well priced stop over for an early flight.
I had no problems with my Queen suite but my mate had a nightmare. Old hotel needing a face lift. Very friendly staff. No breakfast supplied even though all the websites state there it is. Quiet end of Soi 8 off Sukhumvit Road
"The reviews say it all..."
I had booked and paid for this hotel through an online travel company. The photos on the web page looked good. I had read some bad reviews but thought I would book anyway, as I have booked other hotels with bad reviews but I found were quite good. The place looked nothing like the photos. Listen to all the bad reviews about this hotel. It is very old and not updated. The shower is over the bath and the enamel is cracked and dirty. The air conditioning is a big, noisy old unit. The room is dirty. This is the first hotel (that I have gone to in my whole life) that I could not stay in for one night. As soon as I checked in, I went looking for another place, I have stayed in many 2-3 star places, and none of them were as bad as this place. Do not book this hotel for more than one night if you intend to see it for yourself.

Key card didn't work all the time, neither did the lift! Room dirty and smelly. Water pressure non existent and tepid from both taps. Pillows and sheets dirty. On checkout, I complained to manager and as I had already paid for 2 more days stay for 10 days later he said he would upgrade me on my return, I heard him tell reception to put us on the 9th floor (maybe a better room). When I and my irate girlfriend returned, they put us in a WORSE room. NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL. In the lobby and outside the hotel I bumped into other guests all of whom were miserable. RUN AWAY!!!!

We stayed here in Nov 2010, which was ok back then, breakfast was included, but the building was a bit run down and the pool had no water in it, my wife and daughter went back in Feb 2011 and the rooms were no better and had to call reception after booking in to change the bed sheets as there was blood on them. Decided to give Royal Asia Lodge another go in Nov 2013 as the pictures on the web looked like it had been done up, so pre booked for a couple of nights, on arrival we were told we must pay the total amount upfront which we disputed but as it was late we accepted. went to our room, the floor was filthy, showers didn't work properly, hot water only worked in one shower but sprayed all over the walls and floor. we had no satisfaction with management to rectify these issues so booked out the next morning,. we were told we would have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for a refund , that was 21st Nov 2013, it is now June 2014 and after 7 emails with no replies we still don't have a refund. even though the manager "Mohammed promised us and even showed us a phoney bank deposit in February 2014 I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU DO YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED . DON'T FORGET THEY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT IN ADVANCE

I booked into this dump for 10 days. On check in they demanded 10 days in advance with a credit card. It was 10 pm and i was tired to argue much. After 2 days I had enough. The room is deteriorated so bad it should be condemned. No power points worked The bathtub had no bottom in it, it had cracked and looks like some plaster of something poured into it to fix it, but it leaked water anyway. The shower water was brown. Someone came and fixed a power point but the jug would not work then. They charge 20 baht for a tea or coffee in the room. (ridiculous) The towels were worn out and course. No towels were left after the first day, reception said they had run out . The aircon so noisy it could not be used at night nor the window open it was screwed shut. The safe was locked and it took 6 complaints to get someone to unlock it so I could use it. The key card for the door worked only sometimes. Water always on the bathroom floor from leaks in the pipes somewhere in the wall. Cockroaches everywhere. Even in the bed at night when sleeping. The maid sprayed a few times and she said all hotel is same with cockroaches. 2 nights I had enough, I packed up and went down the road to Sawaddee hotel. I went back to royal asia and told them I was checking out and I wanted a refund. They said no. I demanded to see the manager and was told he is to busy. So I told them to go get him or I would go away and return with the tourist police. With that threat he soon appeared. He eventually agreed to a refund and I got a refund form from him. He said it would take 10 days to get a refund, but now 1 year later still no refund. Avoid this place at all costs.

I am writing this from the Hotel - I cannot wait for my taxi to show up to escape the place. I stayed here years ago and it appears no maintenance has been done in the past 6 or so years. I have had to move 3 times to get a working AC unit - last move at 3am. The rooms are falling apart and very dirty, the room I have now has a huge stain on the roof and the holder for the key (to operate electric) has fallen off the wall. The bedding is disgusting and clearly very very old as are the towels. Please do yourself a favour and keep out of this place - terrible.

Got this hotel from Groupon India deal. Pathetic is the best word to describe service from Groupon India and this hotel from Bangkok. Both should be avoided. Even as last option. Came to know that renovation work is going on, requested groupon to change hotel but they refused to accept this. After reaching hotel, they told that kitchen / restaurant is not working so no breakfast which was included in deal. Receptionist asked for 1000 Baht deposit towards mini bar and other charges. I refused to pay and told them to cancel booking. They agreed. Room allocated didn't had any working shower. Changed room for 1st time. 2nd room door was locked. Even the hotel staff took 15 minutes to open it. Other room was outdated and bathroom was leaking at several places. Next day power supply for this room went-off. Manager and other staff was not able to fix it even after 2 hours. Another room change. Bed, pillows and other staff is below average. While checking out, staff told that I consumed coffee even when have not used single thing from this hotel. Charged 20 baht for that. Service / courtesy is absent.

Due to refurbishment work some of the facilities at this hotel are not available but the hotel reimburses you for these facilities on arrival. The room we had was a presidential suite. It was spacious with two bedrooms each with ensuite, a kitchen and lounge area. The only poor part of the room was one of the ensuite had a corroded bath, and the sofa in the lounge was old looking. Otherwise the room was excellent. A free Tuktuk service runs you to the end of the road where you can pickup an met at one of two stations close by. The taxis are the only downside none wanted to take us to the hotel, we thought that we might be in a bad area, but it's due to traffic. The taxi drivers refuse to use the meter so on working days prices are high

It was almost 2am when I checked in after over 24 hours of traveling from the USA. The front desk clerk immediately tried to strong armed me for a 1000baht cash deposit to cover the Minnie Bar. That was a 1st for this hotel; I had already prepaid for 7 nights via Agoda! I refused to pay it and told them to "just take out the Minnie bar as I don't ever use it"! We had to change rooms after the 1st night as the A/C unit was defective. The second room wasn't much better....the sink wouldn't drain and when they fixed it...it just drained out onto the floor under the sink...disgusting! The hot water heater was defective & they showed us how to remove the cover and trip the circuit breaker whenever we needed to use it! This hotel has really gone down hill in terms of neglecting to perform basic routine maintenance...not to mention it's in desperate need of remodeling! The only good thing about it is that the staff is pretty friendly and the 24 hour shuttle service up to the Sukhumvit is convenient!
