There are so many better options around here that I regretted staying in this hotel. It was next to a Days Inn, almost shared parking lot and nothing else around, in middle of nowhere off the freeway. The entry was pretty inconspicuous, right from parking lot and hard to find. Lobby was uninviting, room was alright and wifi was really slow. Worst was […] the restaurant, however. Considering there was nothing else around it, it made a big difference. There were many creative dishes including ones advertised on the hotel elevator walls. I tried both, dinner and breakfast and food was uniformly bad, including two of the worst dishes I ever ate. Seems like they cannot cook anything, so try to add variation so that nobody can complain. Anyway, staff was helpful and friendly but overall it just did not click for me. Read more

We really liked this hotel, just wish it was in a different location. I thought it would be closer to a beach. It was modern, clean, well-cared for, and the rooms were very spacious and included a wet-bar, mini fridge, microwave, and cupboards for food and dishes, as well as a coffee maker. Even though it was a little dark in the shower (there is only […] one dim light outside of it) it was huge and magnificent! I also really liked that the sink was outside of the bathroom. Loved that they always had hot coffee right by the elevators and that everything, including the free parking, is very convenient. Also was impressed that they had 2 maybe 3 guest laundry rooms. This is certainly the best Holiday Inn we have stayed at. Our room was on the sixth floor/corner unit with a beautiful ocean views. The room was nicely decorated in white/grey/black and red. Such a nice touch.The bar and restaurant was excellent serving yummy dishes. We did not have to leave the hotel after a long day.

My husband and I were celebrating a big anniversary the weekend we stayed at this hotel. Our last night was spent at the HI-Oceanside Marina and we received excellent service. Locations is easy to find, and being near the highway makes it easy to get around town. Also near the beach. I liked the decor too. I stayed in the junior suite and it was very clean and roomy. The tv was big with 50+ channels. Not too much of a view outside the window but the pool and hot tub was great at night. Personnel was kind and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The entire hotel was recently updated. It's as if they built it brand new. The location was outstanding. We spent a lot of time in the marina/harbor area and found that to be a safe, comfortable area for our family, with great food options and the beach for entertainment. Our room was a junior suite King bed, at the very end of the hall, which meant […] we got a larger floorplan. The train that runs behind the hotel was never a nuisance. The guests were very nice and the staff was typical of any branded hotel chain. We paid more to stay here over other options for it's location. Be cautious of other hotels in this area - some are located next to gentlemen's clubs, or on the other side of the freeway. This Holiday Inn was next to the marina, a WONDERFUL choice! Read more

The Hotel was wonderful. The food in the resturant was well prepared and tasty, and price wise was on a par with the surounding area. Always had parking available (FREE!). The coffee bar was always ready and the coffee was good! The staff was friendly and helpful, always had a smile for you. I was surprised by how nice this was for a hotel in its class. The room seemed like it was brand new and was immaculately clean. The only thing I would have liked is a tub instead of the shower built for 5, but overall it exceeded my expectations. The room was very good as well as the staff. However in their attempt to "GO GREEN" by saving energy, lighting has been reduced to a level that is undesirable. The light in the bathroom is so dim my wife could not see well enough to apply makeup. Lighting in the sleeping area was not any better. Lighting there made it difficult to read a news paper […] unless you had the paper directly under or near a lamp. Front Desk was great...always had a smile on their face and warm greetings. Room was very spacious and had a kitchenette which made snacking and meals a whole lot easier and healthier with small children. We kept yogurt, milk, cereal, and berries in the room at all times. There were plenty of cabinets to store all the goodies we bought from the store. […] There was a great selection of kid friendly channels for the kids to enjoy and plenty of space for them to spread out during down time. Breakfast buffet was terrible (unfortunately). There were no clean tables, plates, cups at the start of our meal which was dissappointing. Many of the buffet items were out of stock during the meal too. What made it even more difficult was that the server kept trying to collect our check every 10-15 minutes while we were eating : 0( This was the only downside of our stay. We never got a chance to use the pool as the weather did not permit. Although the pool was small, it was warm and would have been perfect for our small kids. It was also very nice that they had an assortment of beach toys for purchase in the lobby...being only a short walk away from the beach. Read more

Great hotel. We wanted something close to Camp Pendleton for the Mud Run, but not near the noisy freeways. Room was very quiet. Breakfast started at about 6:10. We were done and out the door by 7. Definitely will stay here next time. It was worth the money!!

The staff and manager of the hotel were so kind and accommodating. I had requested a view room because we were celebrating our 39yr wedding anniversary and not only did we get an excellent room but the manager and staff gave us complimentary champagne and a chocolate volcano strawberry desert.
