The ice bucket was cracked so I had to walk down to the office and get another as soon as I got into the room. Get to breakfast prior to 9am, I got there the 2nd day of my trip at 915am and it was all cleaned out. The day prior I got breakfast at 845am and was plenty of light food to eat. I was in the annex building which was next door to the main building. Great location and easy to find. Simple room and nothing spectacular.

The hotel is a beautifully kept B&B in the Shennandoah Valley. This alone made the stay worth it from the start, but it only continued to get better.... The owners are a very friendly couple who make you feel part of their family. They were very knowledgable about the hotels past and graciously gave us a tour of the house noting various bits of historical interest. The service was outstanding...breakfast comes with your stay and you can do a regular continental, or the owners will make you the tastiest pancakes and sausage from scratch. It is very close to Skyline Drive and many other must see attractions from a local theater to Confederate breastworks. This would be an excellent place to host an intimate get away, celebrate a birthday (like we did) or even have a wedding with an historical theme. The Buckhorn Inn offers a delightful, if not tasteful, blend of old and new. The 1811 inn has modern plumbing, claw foot tubs, wrap around porches and flat screen TV's. It was extremely clean and the hosts (Garlan and Sylvia Yoder) were accommodating and engaging. Perhaps, I was just taken by their three tow headed children and the loving family atmosphere. […] My breakfast order the first day was taken by their oldest daughter in the dining room complete with the warmth of a roaring fire. Many fresh cooked to order menu items.
