Locationwise Story Hotel is the best. It is literally 2 minutes to Östermalmstorg metro station. You can also walk to many attractions. The hotel has an excellent and trendy bar and a separate restaurant (almost a gourmet one). The bar during weekends has a DJ and is full with affluent Stockholm people. Just came back from sweden, and stayed at the story hotel, I was a bit dissapointed as I arrived at 6am and could not check in till 2pm. Also my room had parquet floors and in -6 degrees was freezing. They did not have a heater in the room either. We stayed 4 days in Stockholm and had a great time. The hotel's location is excellent, close to everything, with a t-bana station less than 30 m. away. We arrived before check-in time, an d the staff took care of our bags while we went to see the Vasa. When we came back later that day, the bags were already in our room! The Story was recently renovated […] so every room detail is updated and in working order. Our room was more compact than an equivalent US room, but that didn't bother us. We loved the design of the hotel. The bar, the courtyard and the restaurant are cool places to hang out. It is mainly aimed at 25 to 45 year old guests.The breakfast was excellent. Rooms are small and probably not everyone's taste but very stylish. Staff was helpful and nice.

The hard-working attentive staff were extremely helpful, and congenial, helping with travel arrangements, baggage storage, taxi reservations and more. This hotel tries too hard to be hip. With dim lighting and hallway walls painted black, we couldn't see our room keypad without a flashlight. Internet worked in the lobby, but not our fifth floor room. Comfortable bed. Quirky, full of character, post-modern and hip hotel near restaurants, bars, and lots of shopping. Not having a lobby (just 3 iMacs to self-check-in/out and one occasionally present hospitality staff member) wasn't always the most convenient (never realized how much we count on a lobby and registration desk). I would stay there gain. but maybe bigger room ;) couple of pros... I stayed at Friggebod room. The room was really small and tight. I couldn't even wide open my suit case. There is a restaurant on the first floor, the kitchen. ambience is fantastic, fashionable crowd, food was excellent. but the portion was extremely small. I am a small skinny girl doesn't eat much though. it's good to know before you order. also there was not really a reception desk. it's kinda in the hall way. I thought it was little bit weird. the receptionist/checkin crew/concierge was very nice. but he/she wasn't always there. I always had to look into the bar and the kitchen to get some attention. It's like the Ace hotel of Stockholm--nice bar, restaurant, good vibes, relaxed atmosphere. Half a block from subway, around corner from tons of shopping. Definitely worth a stay. Front desk helped with many a restaurant recommendation, reservations, etc.

The Story Hotel management and staff have nailed it by redefining the superlative of modern, hip and centrally-located hotels. Better still, the place couldn't be more affordable; rather than nickel and dime travelers with an honor bar, the rooms include an empty fridge with a note inviting you to stock it (or have it stocked) with food and drink of […] your choosing. The hotel is super trendy , staff are nice... BUT BUT BUT... VERY VERY NOISY there is a club just under the hotel, so, you hear big music until 2 am, then the drunk people come out, so until 2:30am. The Story is a beautiful hotel, with supernice staff, perfectly-designed and comfortable rooms, great bar and courtyard café, ideal location... BUT -- and this is important if you're over maybe 23 -- you need to be aware of a few of the hotel's idiosyncrasies/quirks before you stay there: 1. The phones allow incoming but not outbound calls, so if you […] don't have a cel phone with service in Sweden, or need to call locally to, say, check on hours or make reservations, you have to either march downstairs and ask the staff to make calls for you or march down the street to the phone booth. The staff is extremely helpful/cheerful/willing to make calls, but this seems like an inconvenient, easy-to-remedy setup 2. There is a row of rooms (I think the numbers are 14, 15, 16, so rooms 214, 215, 314, 315, etc.) that are over what has to be Scandinavia's loudest bar (no joke, Michael Jackson, Queen, "Grease" soundtrack, until 4 a.m.), so make a stink about getting a room with lower numbers (206, 306, 406, etc.) -- you want a room facing Riddargatan or facing the inside courtyard, but not Styckjunkargatan (unless you really like the "Grease" soundtrack and the sounds of garbage trucks picking up thousands of shattering glass bottles). But given the wonderfulness of the design, the price of the rooms (reasonable), the easygoing staff, the endless and delicious breakfast (included in room rate), I still totally recommend -- just make sure you're very specific when securing a room. As has been said by others, if you are after an ordinary Holiday Inn, Raddison type experience, this is not for you. Cross night or jazz club with cocktail bar with nice restaurant and you are getting near. The room (109) was large and comfortable, the wifi 1st class and free. Another point to note, this must be the first city centre hotel that I ate dinner in for all the nights I stayed - the restaurant is relaxed and serves good food. Throughout the hotel there is good music - and a relaxed, but efficient vibe. All in all a great place. Very noisy outside bar on Friday and Saturday nights, until gone 3am. There were no tables available in the restaurant on Friday or Saturday. Recommend you book a table in advance if you wish to eat at the hotel. Some erotic photography adorns walls in restaurant, may be offensive to the older generation.

Very typical Scandi hotel... A boutique amongst boutique hotels. Über stylish. In fact, most of the punters were dressed to kill even for breakfast, so I felt a bit out of place in cons and a t-shirt. Room ('Friggebod') was tiny. Could have used more space to put clobber, and bizarre as this sounds, the clothes hangers were infuriating (you need to experience them to understand). No air con or temperature control as far as I could see, which was disappointing.
