I was in New York for one night with my son and daughter-in-law, as we had a death in the family. I found Expedia annoying to use, but the hotel was very nice and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was fine, but I wish the pool , larger workout room and bar were across a cold courtyard and I wish that they were within the bldg. My family and I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were in great condition, and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to be accommodating and helped us find a pharmacy, helped arrange our transportation to get on-board for a cruise, and even gave us a deck of cards when we decided to play some games […] in the breakfast area. They had free hot beverages in the evenings, and on Thursday night, even had free soup and cider available. They also have a free shuttle to and from the airport that runs frequently. I booked this hotel for the last night of a NYC trip to be close to the airport. I chose this one because it had a pool and a restaurant. I was not aware that there were two buildings and the pool and restaurant were in the other building across the parking lot. The room I was given was next to the elevator shaft and very noisy. it was a great location to stay so close to the airport with door to door shuttle service. The only down side is that one of the elevators was out of order. We had just stayed at the Hampton Inn in Manhattan, and one of the elevators was out of order as well. We found this hotel near the La Guardia airport when our flight was canceled and made a reservation via my smart phone. When we arrived, the receptionist said that the nonsmoking king bed room was not available and asked if we'd take smoking. When we objected that we had just gotten a reservation for a nonsmoking room, someone else at the desk told […] him there was one available. Our room keys did not work and it took a while for the engineer to come. He could not fix the problem, so we just bolted ourselves in for the night. The shuttle service during US tennis open is really needed to improve. Usually the waiting time is around 40mins, you can see other hotel shuttles ( holiday inn, courtyard...) drive by, but just not see Hampton inn. Clean room with great bed and pillows. Service at front desk could not have been more accommodating. They even provided toiletries for items I had forgotten to pack. Was on a non-smoking floor that was truly non-smoking. Only drawback was paying $13 for overnight parking.
