We had the "two bedroom condo" and it was more than spacious. The apartment was equipped with a mini-kitchen and two single sofa beds in the living room, as well as a full dining room table and sofa chair. It's perfect for family stays. The staff and service were also exemplary.

We stayed in the apartment side, and we found it to be perfect for what we needed. The space was more than sufficient, bed average for France, space clean, and windows opened wide open. The staff was consistently pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The only downside we had was that the refrigerator didn't work - but we didn't complain, so I don't know […] how the staff would have responded. The location is perfect - it's an easy walk to the open-air market, and to the major sights along the old harbor district. While the immediate area shuts down early, a quick walk down towards the harbor finds great dinners for surprisingly affordable prices. We parked the car (underground) and it didn't move for our entire stay. The kitchenette is really not going to be one in which you are going to be able to prepare much of a meal. Those who are going for the extra frugal trip can use the space for prepping some basic cheese/bread/fruit, or maybe a salad, but I wouldn't try anything that required more than boiling water in a small pot. As a centrally located place to be able to get out and explore a beautiful small city in France, this is really the place. If you're looking to spend your time in the hotel itself, instead of in France - this may not be your solution. Read more

Room was small, queen was two twins pushed together. Bathroom large and modern. The lack of air conditioning was noticed one day when it was quite warm. The staff appeared to be of two extremes; either very helpful in most cases or hostile in one case. We had always wanted to have a break in La Rochelle, we booked La Residence because it was a studio type room with more space. The room size was perfect, location was great and we found it easily. The staff are excellent, patient and very helpful. Ok now for the not so good, the bed spread had a hole in it, which if it had been placed at the bottom […] of the bed would not have been noticed. Our room face the car park, at night we heard the cars and at 6am we were woken by the cleaning carts moving over the cobbles, so not idea. If you stay here in a studio, ask for either a garden room or a higher level room away from the ground noise. The bar area is lovely, but there wasn't anyone using the facilities which is a great shame, maybe they should publish the drink prices. We were disappointed that there wasn't any information in the room about the area. We did use the car park which was more for a safety issue than space issue, not cheap at 11 euros a day but worthwhile if you can afford it. La Rochelle itself did not disappoint, friendly and lots of places to eat and drink, we loved the markets and little local bars. Read more

We stayed in the condo and this was comfortable with a small kitchenette if you need to cook. It was not lavisiously furnished but clean and comfortable with views over the roof tops down to the harbour. Would stay there again about 10 min walk to harbour. Didn't use any of the hotel facilities but they looked comfortable

We enjoyed our stay. Central location with nice secure parking. The breakfasts were a great start to the day with lovely big tables & loads to eat. Our room had a stale smell & no air con but it was clean & comfortable. The pool was too small to do anything but dip in to cool so expect to do lengths etc... Overall great

We had the two bedroom condos - in the less grand part of the hotel. Worked well for us - very comfy beds, weird German TV channels, and small kitchenette. Pluses were mostly friendly staff, location, free breakfast for kids. Minuses were although the kitchenette had two hot plates, there was no kettle or microwave. Given that it can be very expensive […] to eat out (150 euros for 6 of us for a 'nothing fancy' meal, a microwave would have been realy useful. The Carrefour at the end of the street was open all hours and very useful. Great places to visit were the Aquarium, the three towers and a bus trip to Ile de Re. Excellent hotel. Good location and friendly staff. Requested a top floor room which we received and had great views over the town. Didn't have their breakfast and instead went to the market and bought pan au chocolate and croissants and sat near the port. Great mini break. Very pleasant hotel.

Dommage que nous ayons très mal dormi à cause de la soirée très très bruyante des voisins hurleurs sous nos fenêtres. Das Hotel war sehr schön mit einem super freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Personal. Man bekommt direkt Stadtpläne und alles Wissenswertes erklärt. Das Frühstück ist im Gegensatz zu anderen Hotels super vielfältig und man bekommt frisches Rührei gemacht. Alles in allem sehr sehr zu empfehlen.
