Check in was fast and the receptionist kept my passport for the night. Room servvice was impossible as there was no one to answer. Towels weren't changed for 4 days. Swimmimg pool wate was frigid

The concierge actually told us to follow the crowds when we asked for a restuarant recommendation, the check in staff were very very slow, service at breakfast was ridiculously slow- had to ask for place settings twice. My husband and I loved this hotel! The staff was great and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing and was by far the best breakfast we had in all of Croatia and Italy, offering everything from omelets and crepes to smoothies. We had a beautiful room that looked over the pool and the Adriatic Ocean. The pool was beautiful with lots of lounge […] chairs and poolside bar service. Our only suggestions would be bathrobes in rooms and a fixed shower head. The hand held shower was a nuisance but certainly wouldn't prevent us from highly recommending this hotel for a wonderful stay. The hotel is 15 minutes from the old town but bus service is available and picks up at the hotel every 15 minutes. We walked to town several times. We had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was clean. Everyone was nice. The restaurant was convenient and good. Even though it is away from "Old Town" the bus is so simple and convenient that it is no problem to use. We did walk once and enjoyed the scenery but usually we wanted to hurry to our destination.

Great hotel....not to far from Old Town, can catch a bus very easily. They run every 10 minutes and are simple to catch. You can even buy bus tickets in the little shop in the hotel. We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Lacroma in Dubrovnik. I must say it met all of my expectations. The room was fairly large and amazingly clean. I would […] like to stress that the restaurant is a buffet in the sense you have to get up and get your own food, however, the staff is so friendly they would probably fetch it for you. The food (quality) is as far from what one considers buffet. Both breakfast and dinner was superb and offered much variety. While being located slightly far from "Old Town" Dubrovnik, it is nothing more than a 15 minute bus ride. In my opinion the remote location is a benefit. the stay at the valamer hotel was great. it was a short bus ride to the old town, bus stops right outside of the hotel buses run every 15 minutes and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the old town. the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and the view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful. would go back here and stay again.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel. Breakfast was the most spectacular buffet I have ever had. Staff were helpful . A few staff needed to work on their english a bit. We were glad to be outside of town, as the buses ran every 10 min.

The room was spacious, pretty much soundproof and immaculately clean. Maid service was prompt after we left the room for the day. The complementary buffet breakfast was outstanding. The front desk people went out of their way to help us with a few problems we had that related to a problem with our credit card providing help translating with the phone […] call we needed to make. A great hotel which provided everything promised from it's website. A very modern hotel in excellent order which is to be expected as it is only 12 months old. Some of the external areas are not yet up to standard but once bushes and plants are fully established, this will no longer be an issue. The staff are especially professional and those on the front-desk in particular, couldn't be faulted. Although it's a little remote from Dubrovnik old town, the bus link was highly efficient, frequent and simple to use. The hotel is situated among several others operated by the Valamar chain and quite remote from shops, residential areas etc., - this could be good or bad depending on your point of view. To us, it was no problem, as a 15 min walk took you to a good selection of restaurants & bars about a mile away. The food selection for breakfast was excellent, providing plenty of healthy options. The facilities were fantastic, and being 'off season' we took full advantage of the wonderful indoor pool and the various saunas and steam rooms. Breakfast was great, and nice for an Englishman abroad to get the cooked options available to me rather than just a continental option. The selection though was wide and varied. This was a wonderful hotel with a very regular & short (10 minutes) bus ride to Dubrovnik Old Town, and an easy walk to the more heavily touristed & restauraned Lapad Bay. The hotel is quite large & having come from the smaller Bellevue we felt it had a more corporate feel. But the very friendly & helpful staff, and the relaxed lounge/bar/pool areas […] soon reminded us we were on holiday. The pool & sunbathing area are incredibly relaxing, we didn't see any children (there in early September). From our room (make sure you opt for sea view), from the lobby bar, and most spectacularly from the amazing pool, there is THE MOST WONDERFUL VIEW of the Elaphite islands & the beautiful sunset in the evening. This is the main reason to go to this hotel (or one with a similar aspect) instead one to the south of Dubrovnik old town or slightly to the north like the Bellevue (which was also excellent). Facilities very good and service well above average but given the distance from the Old City-it is not walkable-you need to catch the bus. Whilst frequent this costs about £6.50 per day for a couple return. The hotel should offer a discount card.

The hotel was amazing helped greatly by outstanding weather. Both pools were immaculate. Had a few treatments in the spa which were also fabulous. We went on the three island cruise on one of the days but actually missed the hotel we regretted it! We upgraded to the sea view room - stunnig with a downstairs lounge and upstairs bedroom up a spiral staircase. […] Gorgeous. The breakfast buffet was better than most but not outstanding (food a bit oily). Also we went for the dinner buffet which for the price was dissapointing especially for my partner who is vegetarian. Valamar Lacroma was a nice hotel to stay in. Had nice sea views and the hotel is decked out with awesome bits and pieces. Breakfast is phenomenal - lots of selection. Only negative is that the hotel is not within walkable distance to the Old Town however in saying that you can easily get a bus for just over one euro - ride takes about 10-15mins.

400 rooms, 800 guests but they have a fantastic set up with large indoor and huge outdoor pool. rooms excellent - meals all buffet style with the chefs cooking meals as you watch. huge selection for both breakfast and evening meals. 10 minute bus ride from centre of Dubrovnic with bus stop just outside hotel. The location is difficult to find, and is an expensive taxi ride from thje airport, but once you have found it, the are good links by bus back to the Old Town, about 15 minutes ride (cost c £1). So a hire car is only necessary to get into the countryside. Staff […] at the hotel are friendly, the pools (in and out) are clean, and the rooms are comfortable enough - although try to avoid one looking out over the car park area! We wanted to be able to combine city with beach and for that the hotel was perfect only a short 15 minute bus ride saw us arrive into Dubrovnik's old town on route 6 bus - which can get very crowded so be warned! The beach is just a five minute stroll from the hotel, located at its sister hotel the President. It's not particualrly big so can imagine […] in the height of Summer it can get pretty crowded but there are other beaches near by and within walking distance which you can also sample, the beaches tend to be pebble rather than sand so be prepared pack a good pair of plastic shoes for the sea. The down side to the hotel's location is not much around to do in the evening and few restaurants so you invariably have to head back into the old town, which we sometimes didn't feel like doing but had no choice really. Did eat at the hotel's A La Carte Restaurant, which was pricey and not very good considering. However the breakfast buffet was plentiful and pretty good. Staff on the whole were friendly enough but lacked the service one might expect from a 4 star hotel. However, it does have endless tour groups which may make for a less personal service. The pools - one in door and one out door were always lovely and clean although the outside one was very cold, which perhaps explained why few people actually swam in it! But I would recommend the hotel overall - it was functional and served its purpose after all we weren't there for the hotel alone! Read more

This was a great hotel, the location was superb and the ease of access to the City was excellent, with frequent buses and a bus stop directly opposite the hotel. The Breakfast was amazing with a vast choice of both cold and hot dishes and the spa facilities were fantastic. I believe that the hotel offers the perfect location, whin walking distance to local bars and restaurants and the sea, but also easy access to the city for shopping and nightlife. The hotel is in a pretty, quiet spot 30 mins from the airport, with easy access to Dubrivnik old town by bus (15 min journey, bus every 15 minutes). The facilities were very good, the hotel 1 year old & very clean throughout. Good breakfast & plenty of places to eat nearby. A relaxing break in a lovely location, would recommend to other travellers.
