This was great place to stay, no screaming sring breakers. This is an adult oriented all inclusive hotel. The food was excenllent, you have to try the rotisserie chicken on the beach!

"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Wow! What an amazing time we had staying at the Royal Solaris!! We spent our 19th anniversary at this all inclusive resort for 4 days and never even had the slightest urge to go into town or leave the hotel. Friendly staff checked us in. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and there was no waiting. The Time Share lady who offered us a "quick tour" of the hotel but did not get pushy or upset when we told we just wanted to get to our room and then hit the beach. She asked that we come see her, but we never did and we never got bothered with Time Share talk the rest of the time. The multiple pools looked like lots of fun, but hey...we have a pool at home so we spent every waking minute at the beautiful beaches. The "vendors" walking up and down the beach were not pushy at all and after each one made their 1st pass/effort, they didn't bother us the rest of the day. Benjamin and Kike (pronounced kee-kay), were our beach waiters over the weekend and both of them were absolutely tremendous!! We could not have asked for a better experience. The room was clean, it had a comfortable bed, and plenty of water pressure for our showers. Oh...and pay the little extra to get the beach view room...spectacular views of the sunrise and gorgeous blue waters!!

Accessible by ferry, Isla Mujeres is a major ecotourism destination. El Parque Natural Garrafón (Garrafón Natural Reef Park) features coral reefs inhabited by schools of fish. Giant sea turtles come ashore at Tortugranja to lay eggs. North of Isla Mujeres, thousands of rare and tropical birds roost at a natural sanctuary on Isla Contoy.

Right by the centro, two blocks to Hidalgo st, the pedestrian way with lots of restaurants and shopping. Hammock on balcony overlooking the ocean, which is also visible through glass wall and expansive sliding glass door on ocean side. A/C worked well, as did small fridge in room. Bed was comfortable and room was extremely clean with service every day. […] Curiously minimalist decor, but not unpleasant. Safe in room but we felt very safe at all times. Microwave and tv, along with free wireless Internet and pure water available in covered outdoor lobby area that was just outside our room. No tv, microwave, Internet, or alam clock inside the room, not a problem for us. Two blocks to a supermarket with all basic needs. Not all staff speaks English, remember you are in a Spanish speaking country and try to speak a bit of their language, or hav a dictionary handy. Extremely happy with this stay and would definitely stay again. Excellent value. Read more

"Hotel Roca Mar in Isle Mojeres"
Gr8 view of the Atlantic ocean. Room right next to the ocean...could hear the ocean whole night. Looked like new construction. No elevators though...its only 3 levels. No TV or phone either but were not missed at all. Nice clean and comfortable room. Very relaxing to the sounds of the ocean. Walking distance (3 mini blocks) from the ferry dock. Also […] close to local shopping and eateries. No need to rent a car. Rental of a golf cart for 2-3 hours is enough to drive around and get a hang of local flavors. Very much recommended. Read more
"Atmosphere and location idyllic"
Right off the town square and right on the ocean, what an idyllic experience. We could walk the two short blocks from the ferry to this hotel and like wise walk to the famed North Beach and any shops or restaurants we wished to visit.. No tv or radio, but the surf right outside our window provided all the entertainment and sound we needed. If we returned […] to Isla Mujeres, we would stay here again. Read more
"amazing hotel!!!"
absolutely, 200% recommend this hotel. the price is unbeatable!! the room is stunning!! very modern, clean, minimalist, with a wall of glass that opens to a private balcony with a hammock overlooking the ocean, what more could you ask for!? oh yea, a glass shower so you can watch the sunrise/set while you shower! 2 blocks from the main ferry port and […] only 1 block from the main strip of the street, the location is unbeatable. the hotel also has a quiet surrounding neighborhood (all i could hear was the sound of the ocean). theres a small pool and nice patio, plus free wifi (only in the common area, minor downfall). the staff is very helpful. the room was always clean. and the AC is freeeeeeezing cold! quite possibly the best value on the entire island. will go back again for sure. "Clean/great location but a few things hold it back"
Location was excellent, room was very clean and modern. Staff was less than helpful in navigating local help/orientation. Wireless only works in the common area. The pool was pretty dirty with big hair clumps floating around so I stayed away. Can't beat the view.
"hotel rocamar"
hotel is great if you have reasonable expectations. this is true mexico- not a fancy, all inclusive resort. there are no phones or tv in the room. rooms are nice and have beautiful views- the ocean can almost get too loud at night. you can walk to virtually anything you need. if you want to explore the whole island, a one day golf cart rental is a good […] idea. the service and cleanliness of the hotel are great- staff are very helpful but most don't speak english!! very authentic! I was very dissapointed with this hotel, there was no hot water!!!!! It is not located by a beach that you can swim in...... It ocean views are beautiful but have very large rock so they will not let you swim. The sand beach is less than a mile away but they will not let you use the lounge chairs. Also they didn't have tv's in the rooms(said they were […] remolding) Read more
"Hotel Roca Mar - minutes from ferry"
Hotel Roca Mar is in a great location.Located just a short walk from the Cancun Ferry on the east side of the Isla. The room was very clean and there is an in room safe to store all of your valuables. The bed was very comfortable and the view from the room was gorgeous. The hotel room does not have a television which was a surprise but not a major disappointment. […] The atmosphere is peaceful and enjoyable with the carribean breeze and the waves lapping the rocks just beyond the hotel window. The boardwalk behind the hotel makes for a good place to jog or walk in the morning. Read more
Very convenient hotel. You need to add the ac option when you check in. ($10 more). Hurricane Alex messed up the whale shark trip but everything else was great. Taco concession down the hill in the ice cream shop made the best tacos. Chili Locos also had great food.
"Hotel was great, but.."
I really enjoyed this hotel as the room had a balcony with a hammock where I could lay and watch the ocean. That was the best thing about the hotel. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the swimming pool. It had green algae growing on the sides. The staff told me they cleaned the pool and put chemicals in it but it didn't appear to be […] true. I was hesitant to swim in the pool as I didn't know how sanitary it was. Read more
Hotel was clean, lots of available drinking water and coffee in outdoor lobby. Free internet also in lobby. Staff friendly but scarce. I have already described the negatives in the question 'was everything as you expected?' I just felt it was overpriced for what we got, since we had to pay extra not to be in the basement.
