"Excellent value and comfortable"
We were on the 26th floor and had the most amazing view of the Ala Wai Canal, golf course, the mountains, and partial ocean. The kitchen was very functional. We were pleasantly surprised. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It took just a few minuets to walk to the beach. Loved the free parking and the double wide balcony too.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
Bed was uncomfortable & the layout made it seem smaller than it was. However, great location, beautiful views, clean space & friendly people. I would come back.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel - had a wonderful view of Diamond Head from the room. Only criticism (relatively minor) is that parking garage is very difficult to maneuver around in, especially when trying to be careful with rental car or any normal-sized car!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"DON"T STAY HERE!!!!!!!"
Between the beating on the walls from the repairs going on in the room next door to me, as well as the worker just walking into my room mistaking it for the room they were repairing (with me being undressed), to the babe roaches running around on the counter tops, it was by far one of the worst stays I have ever had in Hawaii. The hotels there are usually […] so nice and clean, and I had NEVER seen a roach there until now!!! And to top it off, it was the holiday so we could not find another place to stay at a reasonable price!!!! So we were stuck for 3 days!!!!! I will know next time not to choose this hotel but I wanted to give you a heads up before you make to same mistake I did. DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Good location, convenient, comfortable, clean. Only negative, we were on 7th floor and too close to carpark . Higher floor would have been better.Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nicht zu empfehlen!"
Sehr schmutzig und sehr laut Angaben zum Zimmer waren falsch! ca.25 m2Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very convenient position"

Booked 3 nights through Rick from Discount Timeshare Rentals for a fantastic price. We got a Studio #2007 which had amazing views from the lanai. Ocean views to our right and mountain and golf course views to our left. First time with a murphy bed but it turned out to be way more comfortable than it first looked. The apartment was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed and was just down the street from the only grocery store in Waikiki. The free parking space was a real bonus and saved us anywhere up to $25 a day which is charged in alot of places in Waikiki. I have read a number of reviews and wonder how people do not realise that this is a Timeshare condo building which means there is no front desk staff or maid service. There is an elevator that is accessible from the garage but sometimes you have to walk up or down a ramp to get to it. Never found it to be that big of a deal. Now it is not the most palatial place I have stayed in but you can not fault it considering what you are normally paying for a room. The views from the top floor pool deck are just gorgeous as well. All in all my measure of satisfaction is would I go back....and my answer is most definitely. Do yourself a favour and check out Ricks website for a great deal.

My wife and I stayed here for our 2 week honeymoon. The condo is immaculately clean, includes a zillion amenities which you cannot find at a hotel (full kitchen, rice cooker, blender, in-unit washer/dryer, boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkels & masks, water shoes, floating tubes, etc.) Garage parking space is included with the condo which is extremely valuable, as it apparently can cost around $35/day in the area. Upon arrival there was a cute basket of goodies for us, a nice note, and flowers on the door with a welcome sign. Marie, the owner, called us the day after we arrived to make sure that we'd arrived and were settled and to see if there was anything we needed. She is the most diligent and attentive landlord I think I've ever met. The condo is very conveniently located right next to the hubbub of Waikiki, but is one block down the street, so nights are quiet and removed from the din of the crowds. It only takes a few steps to get to the beach, restaurants, and loads of shopping! On the roof of the condo building is a pool, hot tub, sauna, and barbecue grills! The building has a full-time front desk guard who literally watches security cameras 24-7, and every door is accessible only via key fob -- all this is to say that the condo feels very secure. The view from the condo is spectacular - we loved sitting on the lanai every morning with our coffee and looking at the beautiful mountains (including Diamond Head!), the canal, and the lovely Pacific Ocean! If we ever return to Oahu, we'll definitely be staying here!
"A great budget option."

Having left our run a bit late, we were faced with few accommodation options within our budget. Having always stayed on the water side of Kuhio Avenue, we weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. It's only a short 10 minute stroll to the beach and you have the stores and transport options along Kuhio, - even a full supermarket - just steps away. The building is clean, comfortable and secure, with a security guard in the lobby 24/7. Plus you have the advantage of a full kitchen and laundry, which was a welcome treat! Depending on your room (we had two), you might expect a bit of age and dated decor, but hey, this 'aint the Hilton! There is a rooftop deck with a pool, hot tub and fantastic views! You also get a car park, which is a rare commodity in Waikiki. Unfortunately there are a few undesirables hovering around the street after dark, but keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. If you'd like WiFi, contact Vacation Internationale (the timeshare managers) well before you arrive; they only have a limited number of modems and if you don't book ahead, you'll miss out. However, Starbucks and McDonald's are just around the corner and they have free WiFi inside. Ala Wai is a thoroughfare for emergency vehicles, so expect to hear sirens overnight, but other than that, you'll have a comfortable stay and save a few bucks for the more important stuff! I would happily stay here again.
"Good locale for little moola..."

My wife and I stayed here recently for our latest trip to Oahu. Traditionally we've stayed at regular hotels by the beach in Waikiki. Those hotels were always nice but we paid a fortune for them. This time we decided to do a vacation rental instead. After a ton of online searching I kept coming across the Fairway Villas. The price was great, loved the location (away from the hub-bub yet close enough to it to join in on the fun) and the fact that it included a full kitchen, washer/dryer and free parking sealed the deal. Our unit was on the 22nd floor and was well appointed. All the necessary cooking utensils and cleaning equipment was provided (no maid service as this is a privately owned condo not a hotel). The owners also provided beach chairs and boogey boards for our enjoyment plus free wi-fi. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on our lanai overlooking the mountains to our left and the ocean to our right. The rooftop pool and whirlpool was nice and a great place to watch the Friday fireworks from. The security staff was very friendly and accommodating. The assigned parking spot was awesome (if you've ever been to Waikiki you know how hard parking is to get!). We always paid a fortune for parking at our hotels before and we weren't even guaranteed a spot!! You don't really need a car in Waikiki but we roam all over the island so we prefer having one. If you have a car, I would recommend that you do any food shopping at Walmart not the Food Pantry on the corner. Even though that grocery store is super convenient (about 50 yards away), the prices are very high as its the only supermarket in Waikiki. Walmart is about two miles away and the amount you'll save is worth the trip (yes, it was a bit odd having our first stop in Hawai'i be at a Walmart - it was like we never left home!!). Granted the Fairway Villas is not high end luxury but nor is the price tag. The location was great, our room well appointed and the parking could not be beat. We will be back again!
"Great stay at Fairway Villa"

We stayed in unit 1612, part of the Vacation International Timeshares. Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay except for no wifi. We were on wait list for 5 days to rent a wireless router at $5 per day but none was available so we visited Starbucks and McDonalds a lot to check our emails and surf the net. The unit was clean and the beds were comfortable. The A/C was a bit noisy. The free parking was awesome and such a great convenience. The location is excellent. There were no shampoo, conditioner and beach towels. We used our special shampoo brought from home and purchased our beach towels at Costco for $7 each. We used the blender to make smoothies daily and also made sure that we threw out our garbage once or twice a day. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.
"Great Waikiki location"

This unit is part of Vacation International Timeshares. We stayed in unit 1914. The unit was very clean and well supplied. Quick elevator service. The small pool (which was not heated!) and a very small hot tub plus separate mens and women's saunas are located on the 29th floor, the rooftop rec. area. Plus there were three large BBQs there for our use - we could not get any of them lit for dinner but they were kept clean. Generally good condition one bedroom/one bath condo unit. Good security. The parking was a bit hairy the first time entering- had to find the exact parking stall on level 4 (for us) and then walk down the ramp to level 3 to catch the elevator which was not a big deal once we got used to it. The building is located on the Ala Wai canal which means more green space on the north side looking over a large golf course, the canal and a large school and stadium. We loved how close the beach was - less than a 10 minute walk - easy to carry your bag of beach gears. Some beach folks, we noticed, used a suitcase to bring the days worth of food/clothing, etc. to the beach. Lots of one way streets to get in and out of the area but easy access to the main areas of the city. I would recommend this stay to any VI timeshare holder. There are also several privately rented condos there and I cannot speak to the cleanliness or bug free zones of other units. After all, this is Hawaii and there are critters that live in damp places. Visitors need to monitor some details themselves (like removing garbage and not leaving food on counters or fruit peels in garbage very long - common sense for that climate!).
"Thriller at the Villa - Cockroaches, Murphy Bed and Filth"
05/13/13 ElleMW Lancaster, Pennsylvania
After waiting five years to take a honeymoon I was highly disappointed in the accommodations…which is a word I use very lightly for this “Villa”. First of all there was no shampoo or conditioner in the room, there was no maid service, no concierge (instead there are security officers), and cockroaches that invaded not only the kitchen sink and bathroom but also my BED! I felt so dirty and disgusting in this place that my husband and I left a day early and checked into a beautiful hotel down the street. Also, beware if you are assigned a parking space on the second floor of the building as there is no elevator – this forced us to lug our four heavy suitcases through an emergency side entrance and have to go down a flight of stairs just to get to the lobby…by the way, there is no bellman so the security officer just looked at us as we struggled down the stairs with our bags. Also, what the online pictures do not show is if you get a studio room you will have a Murphy Bed (these are the beds that fold out from the wall) and the TV will be on a bureau right next to the bed making it impossible to lay in bed and watch TV…I saw about ¾ of the screen on my side of the bed. Now you may say, “who goes to Hawaii to watch TV?” but trust me when you are staying in this room the last thing you want to do to unwind is sit in there reading a book because if you are like me it makes you think too much about how depressing the room looks. Finally, the filth – I felt so dirty in the room that I bought Lysol wipes and did some cleaning myself – with every wipe of the wipe I got dirt which just made me feel gross. Please note, this is NOT a hotel…it is an apartment complex that has rooms allotted for timeshare customers. It is really sad that what started off as a lovely gift from my relatives turned into a nightmare…a true thriller at the Villa.
"Pro's & Con's"
03/17/13 Gigi805 Simi Valley, California
We booked this rental through our timeshare, we had never been to Honolulu before. So this is our opinion Pro's: Walking distance to beach, shopping & eating. Grocery store right at the corner for eating in to save money. Coffee shop in the grocery store. Tour bus to pearl Harbor picked us up at the corner, so easy. Did not have to drive after we arrived, walked to most places. Clean unit which is important to us. Security was good. Murphy bed was comfortable. We loved walking to the beach and relaxing all day enjoying the beautiful views. The roof has a nice view of Honolulu which was nice and they have BBQ there for use. Con's: it was very hard to find, the room was an end unit and very small for 3 people. Sirens went off all night and could barely sleep, walls are really thin, air conditioner made some noise to drown out all the sirens, didn't like how high up we were with only a glass door between us & the edge. Not a lot of utensils to use for cooking family meals or BBQ but if you can improvise power to you. Would we stay again? I am not sure would really have to be our last option.

This room was a total nightmare and ruined at least 3 days of our vacation; the night we arrived there was a note that it would be sprayed for pests the next day. That was the first clue, then that night my husband was up all night killing cockroaches; they fogged and sprayed the next day and we were free of them for 2 days, then the bugs reappeared, bathroom and kitchen. It wasn't because we kept food out; it was secured in the frig, and we kept the garbage sack in the freezer to deter them. We did not cook or do any food preparation in the kitchen. We booked this place with Worldmark who has a contract with Vacation International; only 19 rooms here are of that corporation--the rest are apartments. There were holes in the drapes and the lampshades; behind the toilet were many chunks of rust I guess were from the pipes. I felt filthy staying here. Totally disgusting---we booked room #1512 (random choice per computer) No one from either Timeshare did anything to help us. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

Booked apartment #1410 with Captain Cook Resorts for 2 weeks to get over jetlag and before we headed off to the Big Island. We didn’t plan to spend much time here, as we expected to be out most of the day. Pros • Fairway Villa is very well managed. Security is top notch (the reception staff are always at their desk and looking at the cameras). Staff is friendly and building is clean. Parking for #1410 is spacious. • Our Guest Services Rep, Bryon was waiting for us when we drove up to the condo. He took us up to our assigned parking spot, showed the apartment to us, noticed there were some start-up amenities missing (washing up liquid, sponge etc) and promptly replaced them. • Washer and dryer (good for small loads) in Studio were extremely useful. • The 29th floor deck is great for watching fireworks and life going on below in Waikiki. BBQs are immaculately maintained. • The two single beds weren’t too soft. Cons • My biggest gripe was the air conditioning unit. Even after the service staff came to fix/clean out the unit, it continued to rattle, shake, and make loud noises whenever the compressor kicked in. We could not figure which was worse and more detrimental to our sleep quality – sleeping with the air con on or with the windows open and being woken up throughout by traffic/sirens/drunks below. • Even though the unit has a kitchen, don’t bother cooking here – the exhaust fan doesn’t work. We made breakfast one morning and the smell of bacon and eggs just didn’t leave the room. • Periodically expect other cooking smells to waft in from other people’s units (even with the doors and windows closed). Overall, if you are looking for a budget apartment with parking in Waikiki, this might suit you. But as a previous reviewer mentioned, don’t expect to get any sleep until they change the air con unit.
