We actually booked a room that the building had been closed for the winter for renovation and they provided us an upgrade to a cabin.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The unit serves the purpose it is/was designed for but with my wife and I it is overpriced for our needs. Would be perfect for a family needing the many available services.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rustic lake getaway."
Wonderful hotel with lots of activities for the kids. Plus it is so close to Branson. Spent the morning on the lake canoeing, kayaking and then take in a show!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to everything"
Big Cedar is just great! Has so much to offer, great food, multiple things to do and enjoy, great service, clean, comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful! We have stayed in the lodge before, but this time we got a cabin, was so cozy and nice. You go beyound great service, the basket of "goodies" in the room and drinks provided were so nice, and the […] cookies at night -- ummm. We are already talking about when we can come back. Thank you so very much for a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I really liked Big Cedar. We got our own one bedroom cabin for our honeymoon. Although it was very nice to be there it was not what the website made it out to be. Our cabin was not on the water, The term "private" is loosely used as I could reach out of our bathroom window and pretty much touch the neighboring cabins. The deck also was not private because […] I could see into the neighbors cabin and everyone around us could see our deck. Also the last thing that was a little disappointing was that our wireless internet didn't work and the people on the phone didn't do anything to help. Just a few inconveniences and a couple things that weren't as expecting but overall it was a good experience and quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Big Cedar - First class all the way!"
We really needed a getaway, and it was nice to only drive 45 minutes but feel like you are a world away. Due to our late booking, it seemed we wouldn't be able to get a cabin with a wood fireplace. But we asked - never hurts, right? - and they graciously upgraded us to a lakeside cabin, wood fireplace, jacuzzi, the works - for only a small additional […] cost per night. The place was amazing! Comfy, quiet, and the friendly staff available whenever you might need them. It was all so easy - one of the best, most relaxing mini-vacations we ever had. One caveat - they are NOT kidding about no pets. We didn't know and brought our little dog. The only sour note of the whole trip was the rather large Pet Service Fee that was added to our bill. We will definitely come back, but we will definitely NOT bring the doggie. ( I don't see that as their fault, I didn't even read up to see what their policy was). Overall, I highly recommend a stay at Big Cedar the next time you need some relief from stress. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Something Here for everyone"

This place is full of fun things to do, or just escape and relax. We had a cabin on lake that was just perfect. Décor and location made us just want to stay in and enjoy, but managed to enjoy other activities also. This was our first time in area and can say enough good things about Big Cedar. Everyone, from check in-out, housekeeping, shuttle drivers, restaurant personnel were there to please. Ate at all the restaurants, some twice and enjoyed a variety of food. Shopping on property was also a favorite past time. They offer horseback riding, several pools, walking trails and a boat cruise(that was on my list to do, but did not get a chance). This is one place you want to check out for sure.
"First Class Resort!"
09/16/14 Jeffrey G Rochester, Minnesota
This resort is first class and well worth the trip! Unbelievable experience which is hard to explain in words. You have to experience for yourself. We stayed in one of the cabins which was very nice and relaxing. I have to say the staff no matter where you went were exceptional and very friendly. Food was fantastic at all the restaurants we ate at (Buzzered, Osage, Arnold Palmers) Top of the Rock is a must see!!
"Our Special place since 1997"
09/15/14 Kent B Des Moines, United States
Since 1997, our family has frequented Big C. We enjoyed coming as a fam when our kids were young, our eldest son and daughter in luv became engaged there, also enjoyed their honeymoon in the honeymoon cabin, my hubs and I have also vacationed by ourselves as well. We have so many sweet memories and are creating new ones. The grounds have changed significantly over the years and just keep adding to the beauty and landscape. When Top of the Rock closed for renovation, we were disappointed that it took almost eight years to reopen. We now fully understand as to why........words cannot describe the transformation and beauty .........breathtaking. On our recent trip down i was not feeling well and had to cancel our cruise on Lady Liberty. The staff called within a half hour, asking to bring me soup, crackers and ginger ale......on the house. It arrived with a compassionate man inquiring as to how i was feeling. When my hubs ordered room service later, they brought more ginger ale again asking if I was feeling better. As we have been huge fans of Big C.......we just find more reasons to fall in love.......just like a fine wine, Big Cedar just keeps getting better!!!!!!!!
"I want to go back.....tomorrow"
09/14/14 23aray2014 Blue Springs, Missouri, United States
This was my first trip to Big Cedar and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we felt like the most important couple on the property. There is plenty to do just staying on property. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Devils Pool restaurant so much we went again the next morning. The staff on property was wonderful. If you needed anything at all they would bring it right to your room. Everything about this place was spectacular, I felt like we were farther away from the city than we were, just a 10 to 15 minute drive to Branson. I cant wait to go back next year, it's our new go to spot for our anniversary.
"Best Place I've stayed in Years"
09/13/14 R A
This place is great. We stayed in the Falls Lodge. The room was larger than my first apartment. The rooms are all decorated rustic but far from that comfort. The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable with a down comforter. We have a 3rd level room with a balcony with 2 rocking chairs where you could enjoy this wonderful view of the Ozarks and Table Rock Lake. During the evening you could enjoy the listening to the falls and the flowing stream. Also the shuttle service that would take you to every place you needed to go was awesome. You didn't need your car once you arrived. We will be back.
"30th Wedding Anniversary Celebration"

My husband and I stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary and rented a Lakeside cabin. It was so beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The staff is so friendly and ready to assist you. We took a carriage ride around the property and then on to Top of the Rock for the ride through the caverns and then to dinner. The view is magificient! Restaurants are great! Spent some time at Dogwood Canyon fishing, hiking and biking. The sunsets at Benthook Marina are gorgeous. Already have resservations for next year to take the family.
"The Jewel of the Ozarks"

Big Cedar Lodge is an amazing, luxury wilderness experience built by Johnny Morris of Bass Pro Shops fame about an hour south of Springfield, Missouri. Rustic, but very well appointed, you are away in a beautiful hotel and still surrounded by the closeness of nature. There are many different lodge buildings and levels of rooms. A shuttle transports you from one spot to the next with a simple phone call. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurants are terrific, from the Devil's Pool Restaurant and Buzzard Bar, to the Worman House. Excellent food! And if you have the opportunity, the Top of The Rock is not to be missed. This facility was just opened in June of this year. It has a fabulous restaurant and meeting areas, and an amazing cave tour. Not to mention it's championship par-3 golf course and driving range. Truly a jewel and a must visit for nature lovers.
"One of our all time favorite vacation spots!"
09/09/14 Heather B Edmond, Oklahoma, United States
We have been going to Big Cedar every couple of years since we were newlyweds. We have now been married 11 years and have 3 little ones 5 and under. It is such a wonderful spot to come as a couple and as a family, so much to do either way. Room service at your private log cabin (the lodges are great, but the log cabins are my favorite by far) is my wonderful + the marina with the top of the line boats for the year + the incredible spa + activities lined up for the month that you can sign up for + the pools and hot tubs + all of the restaurants onsite + the horse stable + the beautiful grounds that I could look at all day + the incredible golf course and top of the rock views......I could go on even more. I love the outdoors but prefer modern amenities, so big cedar is perfect for this and having everything in one place so that we don't have to venture far is fantastic. I would highly recommend whether it is for a romantic getaway or a family trip. I am thankful a place like this exists!
"Weekend at Big Cedar"

We went to Big Cedar for our 25th wedding anniversary and it was gorgeous. We loved it. Staff was friendly and their were tons of activities to do without ever leaving the grounds. I highly recommend it.
"Nice place but overpriced"
Just returned home from here with my spouse and son, we left a day early even though we still had to pay for the last night. The first night we checked in we had the horrible Thunderhead fishing cabin which is about a mile away from the main desk and all the pools and things to do, you are in the middle of nowhere and it's a bit creepy the first night we though we were in a scary movie I actually slept with the sharpest item I could find from the kitchen. I called the next day and upgraded to a beautiful cabin for the rest of our stay it was perfectly located and was beautiful it was like we were at a different resort - do not stay in a lower priced fishing cabin! Lower priced meaning 130/ night. To stay in anything decent here you will give your left arm for it! The pull out couches are super uncomfortable so if you have a child make sure you have no less than a king sized bed we only had a queen. Cabin was very nice but as others stated - stuffed animals everywhere if you are into that?! Otherwise the pools, marina, and land are beautiful and they are very accommodating but everything is very spread out but they have constant shuttles. Would stay here again but it would have to be in an expensive room only and for that price I could be on the beach not in Missouri.
