Lots of people on staff, but not completely attentive, professional or courteous. In each of my 3 meals on property I was rushed out, given the bill before we even finished eating (and we are not slow eaters). Just surprising for a 5-star hotel.

A very nice, expansive resort in a lovely setting. Staff was accommodating and provided us with an available room upgrade. Many weddings around, and lots of uncrowded oceanside settings for them. Amazing location overlooking the ocean, the hotel is a maze but you won't care too much once you've checked in and relaxed. My specific room had a faulty shower handle but they fixed it easily at 2am. Bathtub was fantastic if a little exuberant on the hot water. Terranea is always a favorite! Got a great deal through Hotels.com and decided to take the kids up there (all 10 minutes from our house) on a fun, staycation for the weekend. Terranea is amazing in every way. Only 30 minutes from downtown LA, yet it seems like a distant land. Ate at 3 of the restaurants as well as room service and each was great in it's own unique way. The Lobby Bar has great drinks and music on Fri and Sat nights. Beautiful hotel suite, whales and dolphins visible right out the window - I couldn't have asked for anything more! Went for a work trip, but would go back for vacation without hesitation. I stayed in my room for three days and worked 12 hour days, but with the full kitchen, dining room table and spectacular views it was easy to stay put!

Loved it! What a beautiful resort. Friendly staff. Palos Verdes is the most beautiful part of Southern California. It looks like Southern Spain. Make sure you drive up to Malaga and Hollywood Riviera (such appropriate names!).

Was upgraded to a casita oceanview which we loved..great place to walk, paths all over. Was forced to order room service due to no reservations at Nelson's on a Saturday night, so beware. Very pet and child friendly. Would stay again if in area and could get a good rate.

The location is beautiful on the ocean. I'm glad we reserved a hotel room rather than the villas or casitas as many were far from the water, some behind the hotel and parking lots next to the highway. The hotel service was terrible. Our room was never serviced before 4:00 pm and one night not until 8:00 pm. They advertised turndown service as part of […] the resort fee but never did it. Multiple requests for towels and extra bedding were completely ignored. When we arrived early they told us to wait as our room would be ready in an hour. An hour later they told us they were in the process if cleaning it. 3 hours later we were finally able to check in and it was past their 4:00 standard check in time-wasted afternoon! Restaurant and spa service was good. I found the front desk staff to be rude except for the man who checked us out. All that said, I loved the resort and I would return for another visit but would be very assertive about receiving better service. Read more

Beautiful area with wonderful walking trails. A couple of tips. Don't pay for self parking ($25/nt). Just go to a lot slightly further wawy. This place is like a small city. You never even need to leave the resort. One minus is I think they are almost TOO big b/c some things like valet and housekeeping take to long to get done. All in all the views are insane and the restaurants are excellent.

Beware the hidden charges. $25.00 a day fee for leisure. Not disclosed or discussed before hand.Parking is $20.00 a day for self park. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food a little high on the price but good quality.Great veiw on some rooms.

The resort is beautiful with great location and facilities. However, the one disappointment is quality of room service. We left a dirty glass in the room and it was still there when we returned. Also, we have some clothes and personal items in the room which were just moved to a corner. Breathtaking location! The food at every restaurant AND snack shop were superb! I have stayed at the Ritz Hotels alot and honestly, the Terranea Resort beats the Ritz. I want to go back! There were children at the Hotel and I never heard them. What was very impressive was the vast amounts of grass everywhere and thought how great for children.

This is is a first class hotel with lousy service starting with the reception desk all the way down to the pool servers to their restaurant staff. The attitudes of the servers at the pool were ridiculously rude. This was one of the (if not the) best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, welcoming my family and I with champagne when we arrived. They gave us a beautiful room overlooking the Pacific ocean, and the lush, green hills the hotel was located on.
