From start to finish, my experience at this hotel was great! The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when finding out that I had left the mapquest directions to my brother's church at home in Florida. A staff member printed out the directions to the church for the wedding. When I forgot to have the return directions printed out, another staff […] member did so. When my brother, whose car I was using, called to say he could not find the keys to the church, a parking staff member let me check the car (the keys were under an umbrella on the back seat). The Bistro staff were wonderful. They made recommendations and did not seem to mind when I'd say I wanted only a light breakfast or a light dinner. I am still talking about the soup I bought when I'd only planned to buy a sandwich. The Bistro staff member kept saying, "It's vegetarian, and he'd recite the ingredients aloud." I just couldn't take it anymore and just had to buy that soup! It was so delicious!! When I wanted to heat up leftovers, the microwave was available. The hotel was great. We stayed for 5 days and the only complaint was the bistro. The wait staff was aweful but the food was good but pricey. Loved the convenience of the metro being right next to the hotel.

Received a room on backside of hotel with poor view. Could see only railroad and Metro tracks. Was notified by desk, rather than Expedia, that rental was not eligible for Rewards credit. No parking except Valet, at $33 dollars per night.

This is a very nice hotel. I had to stay here because of the power outages across the DMV area. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall is the parking. There is no self parking only valet, and it's $33 a night.

Train horns woke me up a few times at night. Room was at the "corner fo the hotel where the walls form about a 120 degree angle. Was not happy with the layout of the room. There was absolutely no parking except valet parking. This is the worst Courtyard that I have visited.

We checked in Wed. evening, finding people at 1st floor entry and 2nd floor front desk very friendly and welcoming. Front desk gave us a great restaurant recomendation for dinner - Clydes.Thurs. morning, we arrived at hotel Bistro, just before 10 and were told breakfast was no longer being served. Again we asked for restaurant recommendation from front […] desk, as an alternative to Au Boin Pain next to hotel. Constitution Cafe was suggested. We were very disappointed to find buffet style restaurant with tasteless, dried out food. We enjoyed wine at Bistro bar during our stay and purchased snack/beverages from hotel store for reasonable prices. Kiosk for flight check-ins and printing boarding passes is a welcome amenity. 1st floor staff was very accomodating in storing our luggage for us on check out Sat. morning. That afternoon, someone was right there to retrieve our luggage and call a cab when we were ready to head to the airport. Hotel is conveniently next to New York Ave. Metro station on Red Line. Being located next to train tracks and one Metro stop away from Union Station, there is frequent train activity and occasional whistle blowing into evening hours. Room air conditioner was noisy, providing some white noise and sometimes disguised train noise. We heard other typical city traffic noise and sirens. Some electrical outlets did not work. I had a great experience . It is conveniently located next to the train stop, so that was a huge plus for someone like me that has never been to downtown DC. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. This was important to me as this was a new experience and I had nothing to prepare me for being in a downtown location. They made me feel like they would […] help me understand or handle anything that came my way. The room was comfortable, the bed - very comfortable! Even the pull out sofa didn't kill your back! The bathroom was well designed and the shower had pressure! A couple special things - even though I couldn't hear a separate fan in the bathroom there must have been something that circulated the air in there without being noisy, the bathroom didn't get steamy and always smelled fresh (I want that at home!). They also had enough plugs for all the electronics on the desk, very convenient. The two things that were a negative - the internet connection, very slow, extremely difficult to use my IPAD and their computers downstairs never did work. My smart phone worked great though - lots of satellites around I guess. Also, there wasn't any mirror in the main part of the room, most of us like to give a once over before we go out, the only full length mirror was on the back of the bathroom door. At first I was worried about the location. It is indeed in an area of town with a past reputation of not being the best place to be. After staying for six days straight- I can sincerely say that this hotels location should not be a concern for anyone for any reason. Easy to get to, easy to find, OUTSTANDING staff. Emmanuel in the bar/Restaraunt is magnificent, Codgo as well. Chaz (?) at the front desk was very helpful with the one small issue we had with the fold out sofa bed and Shelly the manager is spoke with...all should be commended for their service commitment and friendliness. There is a 7/11 right next door, a burger place and pita place right across the street and while I did not venture from The hotel at night, it was not for any reason other than the fact that I wa exhausted from walking. I enjoyed my stay at the courtyard marriot in DC, and the hotel part was great and actually very nice. However I was surprised to find that the hotel's valet service was an additional $33 per night for an overnight stay. That piece of information might have been nice to know ahead of time, so other arrangements could have been possibly made.
