The hotel was nice and the staff was friendly however, there seemed to be no monitoring of the amount of people staying in a room or rooms. The pool was very crowded with some sort of children's pool party. The adults there were not at all concerned with the imposition on the other guest using the facility. The kids screamed and hollered and splashed […] everyone. They ran in and out of their room all night long and the children were not quieted at all. Overall the hotel stay was disappointing because, the other guest were not made to respect the hotel policies. In the future I would pick a Mariott but, it would be in a nicer part of Washington DC to try and avoid the "Riff Raff" Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"If you want privacy, this isn't the hotel for you."
The location and being directly above the metro is why i chose this location. The room was updated and very comfortable. My only issue is awkward entrance arrangement. The first floor entrance is basically a filter that allows scrutiny of every and anybody that enters. The lobby is on the second floor. No guests you might have are allowed past the second […] floor unless they have a room key. You must go down and retrieve your own guests from the lobby where there is no real waiting area for them but plenty of prying eyes. Strange. Next time, different hotel. "Close to family."
Once again our stay was very enjoyable. We stayed an extra night and every effort was made to accommodate us and keep us in the same room. We were given a complimentary treat at breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Staff was all very nice and helpful. Really liked that there was a 7-eleven next door and a five guys across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel room was very small. The TV was out of view. The bathroom was very small. We spent most of our time with family therefor the hotel was ok for us. We never saw any staffl or was never asked any questions.Genuine Expedia guest review

We had a late check in and asked for a late check out. They allowed us an extra hour to check out. At 1 instead of 12. The valet is expensive in my opinion however there is nowhere else to parkGenuine Expedia guest review

Lighting in Bathroom very dim, TV remote rarely worked. Not quite, people in other rooms were heard late into the night. Room coffee was frightened water, no taste!Genuine Expedia guest review

Very nice hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed in this hotel as it was close to where my daughter lives and we were visiting for Thanksgiving break. I found the hotel to be outstanding. very secure for a city hotel.A very modern, luxurious and clean facility. The swimming pool was nice and warm. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The computer office area was large and looked out […] at the city scape. Only problem was reaching it by car trying to get around the one way streets in DC. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right by the Metro and restaurants"
This is a business hotel with not a lot of amenities--no free coffee, no free parking ($33 a night), no concierge desk. However, the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating, which made up for the lack of frills. Our room had a king room squeezed in, and it was fine for us because we were in town to see family for the holiday weekend. […] We weren't in the room except to shower and sleep. The room was stuffy, and the heating/AC system was either too hot or too cold. The bathroom was clean, and they gave us lots of towels--we liked that. The room could be cleaned better. We found popcorn on the floor by the bed, but we never had popcorn in the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Bed not made/convenient 2 min walk from metro"
booked and paid for 3 people in the room. When we opened the sofa bed, it was not made. Got free breakfast with our reservation thru hotels.com but they did not have record of that. There seems to be a disconnect between the hotel and hotels.com. This leaves lots of room for improvement. On a positive note; Manager gave us free dinner vouchers (we did […] not use them) but that was nice enough and the hotel is just a 1-2 minute walk from the metro. I had a great stay here. The only thing that bothered me was the parking. I had to pay for valet and that is not cool. Why can't Marriott have a parking garage? I do have to say this, the valet guys were good guys and they were very helpful in getting our car to us in a timely manner. Another thing that was very bothersome was the construction because […] it was not a straight shot to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the customer service was awesome. The hotel had 'car service' which I had not been aware of prior to getting there. It was much easier to get to and from my meeting using the car service rather than relying on taxis. Everyone was extremely helpful. I needed a hotel in this part of town (not considered a particularly good part of DC but close to Catholic University) and chose it in part […] because it had a restaurant on site. "Excellent hotel one stop away from Union Station"
The hotel was beautiful, clean, staff was friendly helpful. One thing I appreciated was the safety and privacy in order to use the elevator to get the the rooms you had to swipe your room key in order for it to move which was awesome. The food at the Bistro was excellent. I will most definitely revisit and recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was fine. It was a little noisy and the surrounding neighborhood was a little iffy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice lodging very close to the commuter train. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the $33 per night cost of valet parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is very clean and staff friendly. Neighborhood has little to offer and is a bit shady but can't beat convenience of the metro.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for either walking or metro"
Great hotel. Couldn't have been more pleased with the location or condition of the hotel. Easy access via car without having to drive through central DC traffic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Metro Good, location not so much."
This new hotel is clean and functional. Having the Metro practically in the lobby is a feature that is useful if you are a subway denizen like me. The location of the hotel is newly gentrified. You will not this by all the new building surrounding it and as such these establishments have limited history and track record. Also, just a few blocks in any […] direction but South you will find what remains of some very rough neighborhoods, including an honest to goodness Projects complete with rats, and corner boys. Assume by the mass of cranes and pits that even this little slice of American history will be white washed and wiped off of the grid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"construction in area, difficult getting to hotel"
Our stay was wonderful once we found access to the hotel. Metro Police in DC were very inept at accomodating drivers in area. The hotel staff were wonderful, we felt extremely safe, great location next to NoMa Metro Station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed 3 nights and was very enjoyable. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Food was good in the bistro downstairs. Not a bad location of the hotel. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in getting cab, and helping with places to eat. Just happened to be there when there was construction happening around. Surprised it was right at exit/entrance of Metro so great with luggage. Staff let us check in early. Serve Starbucks so I was able to get my favorite drink.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good base for college visits and city sites"
Pleasantly surprised at the size of our room and bath. Very clean, very convenient. Felt very safe (some other reviewers expressed concern), even when returning in the evening. Next to Au Bon Pain which was open early in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great stay and experience"
Loved the proximity of the hotel to Union Station. Couldn't be better. Metro Station practically outside thedoor. Friendly, capable and courteous ser vice. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Pool and gym facilities top notch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Metro, comfy beds, funny smell"
Stayed here with my spouse and son for three nights. Great location for Metro access, but there aren't many good restaurants in the immediate area. The room smelled a little musty, probably due to the AC. That said, I would probably stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The hotel was OK I guess"
Well there isn't any continental breakfast, which was advertised. The pool was pretty small, and extremely salty which isn't normal I'm pretty sure. The "parking," which honestly was the main draw, was $33/night valet only. They probably should mention that. Overall I will say that the staff was friendly and nice, the room was very clean and VERY large. […] There are a TON of TV channels, which I didn't really watch, but good to have on the days that you want it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Place But Some Whacky Requirement"
I checked in at 9:45 pm. The hotel staff and the hotel itself were top notch. BUT, having to sign a document that fines one up to $500 for making noise was bizarre and offputting, to say the least. And when the clerk at the check-in desk could not tell me why the procedure was in place I thought to myself "boy, this promises to be some stay". However, […] all was fine! Best part was the location practically right outside the NoMa-Gallaudet metro stop...room was spacious and clean...great wifi and having the business center was nice to be able to print out some stuff...staff were very efficient and friendly...not much in the immediate surroundings of the hotel other than a 7-eleven and a Five Guys Burgers though...otherwise, […] a great choice for traveling in DC! "Good location near Union Station, area improving"
Hotel is modern and well-maintained. Very convenient to the NoMa/Gallaudet Metro. Neighborhood is developing, but many restaurants seem oriented toward the lunchtime crowd. Nearby 5 Guys and Harris Teeter are pluses.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay, close to Metro"
I'm disabled and this hotel was perfect for my needs. The room and bathroom were roomy enough for me to get around with my power chair. The staff(all of them) were helpful and very friendly. "Nice hotel close to the metro."
Whenever I need to get away or have friends or family come to town, I recommend them to stay there. Not only is it located a few steps away from the metro, but there is a Harris Teeter, Five Guys, and a few other places to eat nearby. "Easy access for Red Line"
I spent a week at this hotel during June 2013, 3 days on business and 4 with my son on a grand tour of DC. The staff was friendly, the rooms were nice. I only had a couple complaints one was actually the reason I had chosen it...it's close to the metro. The problem was my window overlooked the rail lines coming into Union Station. Consequently even […] with very good sound insulation, you still hear the trains at night. The other issue was that I had been told that breakfast was included but Marriott decided that they would no longer include it at Courtyard. You will find that the hotel is strange in that the lobby is on the second floor. The first floor has a guard. There is a 7-11 next door, 5 Guys burgers across the street and an Indian place connected to the hotel. I must say that the beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean every day. I would recommend it again if I could get a room on the other side of the hotel away from the rails. I tend to be a light sleeper so that was a bit annoying. Otherwise, it's a great spot for a vacation hotel if you want to do DC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel fit all our needs with nice clean rooms, comfortable beds, a nice breakfast offering, washing machine/dryer and most of all it's close proximity to a Metro station with only one stop away from Union Station. "The best hotel stay"
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It has the best breakfast and dinner you will ever eat. The waiter and waitress was so nice and they gave you suggestions on what to order. They do have Starbucks coffee for all the coffee lovers. We ate the bistro every night we was there the food was amazing. The spinach dip was the best I have ever had, […] the flat breads was great also. We will defiantly be back and we will stay at this hotel again. I would recommend this hotel. It does have valet parking but it is definitely worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"OK digs in D.C Just OK tho."
The hotel is in a good location if you're in D.C. to lobby Congress. Luckily it's next to Metro so getting around is easy, it's not luxe in any way and the surrounding neighborhood looks like it might be dicy, lots of new construction going on.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Courtyard in a brand-new neighborhood"
The Courtyard is a fairly new building, no older than five years, I'd say. The reason for that is the neighborhood it's in. For those of you familiar with Washington DC who haven't been back behind Union Station in a while, take another look. This was a truly scary part of town (and I'm from The Bronx). Just five years ago the Greyhound Station was […] located in this part of town. And is often the case, where the bus station lies, so does crime, drugs, panhandling and prostitution. I haven't been over there since dropping a friend at the bus station--and then waiting with her until she was safely on the bus--some six years ago. But since then, Washington DC officials have engineered a brand new neighborhood consisting of highrise apartments, tech companies and (under construction) NPRs new headquarters. Anchored at one end by Union Station and at the other by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms' new headquarters, the neighborhood is clean and safe. The only downside is since it is so new, the variety of restaurants is lacking, although if I'd have counted, I'd say there were close to a dozen, including the ubiquitous Starbucks. The hotel itself was very nice. Clean and neat with large rooms. The staff was VERY friendly. And, the price was good. Take this from someone who generally spends between 75 and 100 nights away from home each year. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient spot in DC"
We stayed here for 2 nights - the hotel is 1 stop from Union Station and a 10 - 15 minute walk to H street and all of the wonderful restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Some people complained that the area was rough - it's urban, if you don't like the diversity off the city you should stay in the burbs. My family loved it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
