I chose to stay at Residence Inn for three nights primarily for location. I moved from Texas and my vehicle full of my belongings was shipped a day later. I was able to walk to the mall for food and shopping and when my car arrived, I parked it securely in the garage. My room was extraordinary clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and staff was helpful. The hotel room was large and comfortable but has started showing some signs of wear -- our carpet was tattered and the couch sagged and was stained.

Just minor complaints. Would be nice if trash cans were larger. Ice maker took a while to get going, although staff was happy to bring us ice. Pool was nice and warm. A bit small but it IS in the downtown.

We were booked at another hotel. upon recommendation we moved to the Residence Inn. Glad we did. Heard stories of not so pleasant experiences at the other hotel we were booked at. Clean, breakfast was great and staff was very helpful! Will stay again when we head to Norfolk.

We stayed overnight at the Residence Inn while being in the area for a concert at The Norva. While our stay was short it did not hinder our enjoyment of the room and staff. We arived late due to weather/traffic and the staff was very welcoming and curtious. The room was clean and provided a wonderful place to rest after a long drive. The Norva is only […] located a few blocks from the hotel and was a convient walk before and after the event. Before departing in the morning the incuded breakfast was as expected. The room was a pleasant surprise -- large, fresh, with nice decorations and very good amenities. It looks nice enough to live in, better than most studio apartments! The only complaints are parking costs $18/day, and the position of the king-sized bed made it difficult to get around on the left side. This is the second time my family and I have stayed at this hotel. The first time, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very pleasant. Now we plan to stay here every time we come to visit our daughter at college! Right downtown and within walking distance to several different restaurants and activities.

This is a great place to stay. It's in the heart of the city and there are plenty of places to walk to for entertainment or anything you might need. The hotel staff is friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel.

It was a nice hotel that was clean. Just a few minor details that I noticed, hand prints on the doors, slightly stuffy smell. Overall the hotel was very nice. Also just a little too far to walk to local downtown restaurants.

This is a nice hotel in a nice area in town. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the Chrysler Museum and the Scope arena, as well as a fair number of restaurants. The hotel was clean and well appointed. The rooms well maintained and roomy. The breakfast in the morning was pretty nice as well. Parking and finding the entrance to pull up to was […] a little confusing. You need to pull in behind the hotel, and the parking garage is right across the street (it is a small street). Not sure if there was valet parking as no one came out when we pulled up. I parked in the garage on the second floor but found out after we checked in that I needed to park on the third or fourth floor if it was going to be there overnight. Also found out at check out that they would validate my parking ticket for the garage so that I would not have to pay, but since I did not know, I left it in the car (however the nice lady checking me out took care of it). Note that this hotel does not have a bar or restaurant, but does have a fridge, microwave, sink, etc. in the room so you can bring snacks and drinks. You may want to turn off the ice maker when you go to bed as it a bit of noise when the cubes drop. Otherwise it was quiet at night. Hotel staff was busy but helpful when asked. We had to travel to Norfolk for a family emergency and the highlight of the trip was our stay at the Residence Inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had to move to a larger room. The rooms were comfortable and really did feel like home. We kept our grandchildren to allow our daughter the freedom to take care of the details after […] fire. Our grandchildren loved the wide selection of food at breakfast and enjoyed having a television in their bedroom. I BOOKED FOR TWO QUEEN BEDS AND WHAT I GOT WAS 1 KING BED AND A SOFA BED. WHEN I REALIZED THAT, THE HOTEL DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO SOLVE IT. THANKS GOD I ONLY SPENT 1 NIGHT AT THE HOTEL.

We had a 2 day stay with 2 small children and 2 dogs. The A/C was out of order for 40 of 46 hours. The check in process took almost 30mins. There was blood on one of the pillows. Due to the high heat of the hotel our youngest, only a month old, kept spitting up and my 2 year old spent a lot of time near vomiting and they both had to stay in diapers […] to keep cool. The staff was very apologetic. Also the night desk staff was very warm and friendly, day staff was a little cold.
