A nice hotel right next to the Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlet mall. We enjoyed the large, comfortable, pleasantly decorated room which included a refrigerator & microwave. There was no coffee maker in the room although it is listed as one of the amenities (we probably could have had one for the asking, but didn't need it). The pool is very small & unheated. The complimentary continental breakfast lacked variety & it would have nice to have some extras like peanut butter & yogurt. The rate for this hotel was very reasonable & they offer weekly & monthly rates for longer stays by "winter Texans".

The service was OUTSTANDING. I honestly can't say enough about how great all three different desk clerks were I interacted with over my 4 days there. The price was phenomenal (44 a night) for what you get. King size bed with a couch area, microwave, stove, and all other property amenities. Next to the State Farm Arena. I literally walked to the Cirque […] Du Soleil show. I thought it would be noisy but the property is VERY quiet and not on a main highway but close to anything you need. A car is a must have. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because one of my towels had what appeared to be blood on it from shaving I assume. When I notified them they apologized, threw it out, and gave me a new set right away. I really would have given them 5 stars if not for that and the location (not walking distance to anything). The room was clean and had many great extras. The management was very courteous and professional. The breakfast had such a good selection including many things not available at other motels. In two months we have stayed at 9 motels and this was by far the best.

The hotel has a good location close enough to the mall and other shopping centers. The room was very nice and comfortable with a powerful AC (love it!). The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool which is not to big and not to small (15 adults will fit on it with plenty space for swimming). The room had breakfast included with operation hors from 7.30 to […] 9.30 am; however it seemed that about 5 families (with 5+ members) were staying at the hotel and everyone were trying to have breakfast at the same hour (about 8.30 am), In addition, only one wafflemaker was in place for all guests and there were almost none other options to substitute the waffles (tasteless eggs, greasy sausages, rock style bread, and a couple of cereals). I believe this hotel has one of the worst continental breakfasts I have tasted. In conclusion: great hotel well located, but bring extra bucks for breakfast at a restaurant. Read more

I needed a reasonable priced hotel in McAllen for a couple of days and after reading the reviews and the price, I selected this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were excellent and clean. The only drawback for me was the hotel was about 6 miles away from what I needed to go every day but the street I used (right in front […] of the hotel) did not have any traffic congestions and never had any problems getting in and out. The room had internet (wired) and phone connections which I needed to perform some work related tasks. The hotel doesn’t charge for local calls or toll free calls. They have a feature that you cannot place a long distance call from the room so you won’t get charged. The hotel is closed to the State Farm Arena in case you need get there for a sport event. There are no major stores or other type of entertainment nearby so you either need to drive to downtown Hidalgo or downtown McAllen. Overall, this is a great hotel and will stay again here when visiting McAllen or Hidalgo Texas. Read more

This hotel is a little off the beaten path but not by much. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the appointments in the hotel are great. the rooms are up to date and clean. The breakfast was continental plus waffles but if you want eggs go to Walmart and get some microwave ones for your room as it has microwave and fridge. I love this hotel and will stay here whenever I'm in mcallen again. I know the surrounding areas so it is not far for me since it is in hidalgo. It was very clean and comfortable.

very nice, new hotel. Rooms with nice furniture. Clean carpets, clean bathrooms. Breakfast very good. The only thing they need is a shuttle to La Plaza . This is our second stay there, and for sure there will be more.

Service was very bad. The front service guy do not care about clients. The hotel is new and clean but the service is very bad. The people in the reception have a bad attitude, the area is noisy and is far away from Mcallen.

The hotel was clean and very quiet. Our needs were attended to promptly. Breakfast was just ok, there was not much to choose from. Yogurt and whole grain bagels or breads are my preference.

Very quiet, and nice hotel. You need a car, if they had a shuttle to to airport or to La Plaza, it would be very very good. They need to change the chair of the computer room, it is very low, compared to the height of the desk. Breakfast was good too. Pros: Facilities are in very good shape Beds were very comfortable Relaxing environment - nothing close but a quiet Arena (at the time we were there) Every appliance working perfectly Improvements: Service at Breakfast - Personnel were not really friendly... Nice Hotel. Everything looked relatively new and clean. Was surprised for the price seemed pretty good. A little out of the way in Hidalgo instead of McAllen, but not too far maybe added 10 minutes from hotels in McAllen

I loved my stay at this Hotel but I was very..very..Disapointed with the Breakfast Menu. I am a Diabetic and this means I can not have any regular Sugar, and all I saw was regular waffles w/syrup..sugar Cereal...sugar muffins and pasteries..What I can not eat..That is why We stay at the Holiday Express were they serve from eggs to sausage and bacon […] and 1% milk...Wheat bread they have a great Continental breakfast. We are alot of people that are Diabetic and children as well So I could not stay at the Bestwesten again unless they have changed there Menu for us Diabetics... Read more

Great Hotel, a bit harder to find than I expected. The location has both a Street address and a FM or CR Road address which confused my GPS. Clean and well furnished rooms, but for dining expect to drive or there is 1 local pizza restaurant that will deliver.
