"Excellent Hotel and Great Location"
I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very nice and clean. The big surprise was a full kitchen which was great (stove, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, plates, utensils…). The location is also great, downtown and a few blocks away from metro) and gave us easy access to sites and restaurants. We were only there for two nights, so the […] Hop on and Hop off Trolley was perfect. We saw a lot in a short period of time. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was an amazing site. "Large suites. Close to convention center."
The suite was large and nicely decorated. We loved the full kitchen and abundant desk/counter space. The internet was good. The beds were great. The bathroom sink and shower didn't drain well, the hot and cold were reversed on the bathroom sink, and we couldn't get hot water out of the kitchen sink at all. The parking is above-ground and not secure […] but our car was fine. There was no way to get the luggage cart to our car so we had to make several trips loading and unloading. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great place, better front desk service."
Really liked this place, close subway. Housekeeping service was excellent. Really liked having a full kichen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved this hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a wonderful boutique hotel in a great location within walking distance to many of the key sites in D.C. including the Smithsonian, White House, Mall and monuments. It is also a block away from the new Convention Center. The hotel was spotless and the staff was great. The decor is very modern […] and comfortable. My 14 year-old son was impressed and teenagers aren't easy to please! The rate was about half of the other hotels in the area. Also near great restaurants in an up and coming area. Room was great. It had a full kitchen, living room and bedroom. Very convenient and safe part of DC.Genuine Expedia guest review
My son and I stayed at the Eldon for 3 nights. We were looking for a place close to transportation and eating facilities, but more importantly, we wanted a place that had a bedroom and a sleeper-sofa. We didn't want the expense of 2 different rooms. The Eldon fit the bill perfectly! It would be great for a family who needed the same arrangement plus […] it also had a full kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, range, etc. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I absolutely enjoyed staying here. I would totally come back for a return. This hotel was more of an apartment. Everything was nicely updated and clean. The location is perfect for walking in DC. The only downside to the hotel was the one elevator, overall it was not that bad since the stairs are across from the elevator. I really enjoyed this place […] and look forward to another visit in DC! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel's location was very convenient to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which was great. It was mainly clean and upon first glance, decorated/appointed nicely. The things that were most disappointing were: broken bathroom sink faucet handle, slow draining of the bathroom sink (which led to residue from face wash, toothpaste, soap, etc.), […] very soft bed (not enough support for me!), and the TV receiver being placed behind the TV, making the remote useless. "Great for conventions"
Very convenient if you're attending a conference at the convention center, which is right down the block. Also good for families. Essentially a mini apartment. There's a 24/7 CVS around the corner and a 24/7 Safeway Supermarket a few blocks away. If you're looking for a more typical hotel (e.g. gym, room service, etc) this probably isn't the place for […] you. If you want a clean, spacious, centrally located place to stay while you're in DC, this is a great find at a great value! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Closest hotel to convention center"
For the price, location, and room size, this suite was a great deal. The suite was clean, spacious, and well equipped. Only downside was our keycard had to be reset by the front desk every time we returned from the convention center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'm ready to move in!"
My "room" at the Eldon was actually a large, luxurious 1-bedroom apartment - much more than I needed for my one night stay, but would definitely go back for a longer stay in D.C. I was especially impressed by the walk-in closet in the bedroom, and the full kitchen with granite countertops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was okay."
When we walked into the room, it smelled like Chinese food. I like Chinese food, but I would prefer that my hotel room not smell like it. The walls are this weird kind of light wood paneling. Floors are tile or marble; I am used to carpet in a hotel room. Shower was awesome. Big and has a rain shower faucet. Super close to the convention center, which […] worked well for me. Overall, it feels like you are staying in a former condo. If you like that, you'll like this place. I wouldn't stay here again because I like the feel of a hotel better. "Nice Room, Horrible sofa bed"
Check-in was a bit annoying as I had to listen to a negative conversation for more than 5 minutes before the employee acknowledged me. Room was clean, large and comfortable except the sofa bed. I know not to expect much with pullout beds but this one wins for worst ever. Slept on floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Suite For Business Trip"
The Hotel has been upgraded and was nicely done. My Suite felt like a small apartment or condo and I felt bad that I was only staying one night. Breakfast was $6, which I thought was pricey for a continental breakfast, but I did not mind since I got such a great rate on the room. It is a very comfortable place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a great experience for mi and mi family I will stay at this hotel againGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location because it was close to metro station. Room was huge, modern amenities and comfortable for a reasonable rate for central DC. My stay was very quiet and restful.7_25_14.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel in general is great. The people in the suite next to mine were making a lot of noise on my first night. On the second night they had an extremely loud party. I called the desk clerk and he came up to their suite and asked them to be quiet, they continued with the noise. I called again he said "well I told them to be quiet". He did not seem […] to care that I was still being disturbed. He did finally come up and tell them again, but they continued with the noise. I like the hotel overall, although some of the furniture and the are rug are showing signs of wear. I don't know if I would stay there again because of the noise. I stayed here with a buddy for an event at the Convention center the evening of 7/26/14. I was pleasantly surprised with this little boutique hotel. The location to the Convention center was excellent. It was clean and the rooms were impressive! Short notice business trip during a week when there was a major youth basketball tournament in town. ALL affordable hotel options were gone, with even 2-3 star hotels in the ridiculous silly money range. Refusing to pay per- night what would basically equal a one-way plane ticket to London, I had resigned myself to staying on the outskirts, until we […] found the Eldon. It's a bit odd - really an apartment converted to a hotel. No amenities such as a gym, doormen, etc...but the apartment was huge, the bed was comfortable, the a/c was good. It worked. "Nice hotel near Convention center of Wa DC"
We enjoyed the vintage feel of the building and it's modern renovations. However the front steps were difficult to manage with luggage. Needs a ramp or graded entry. Our room was wonderful but what good is the fancy shower head if the water isn't hot. Hope the central heater can be enlarged. Also, our all essential microwave and bedside clock did not […] work. This was my first trip to the nation's captial and I was very impressed by the suite and location of the hotel. "An apartment for a hotel!"
I couldn't believe it when we stepped into our room! First, this place is CLEAN. I know, because I inspect beds when I first enter any hotel. This one was spotless and comfortable and big. The floors and remodeled bathrooms and kitchen were absolutely beautiful! Second, each night it really felt like we were going into our apartment because each "room" […] comes with a full sized kitchen with plates, utensils, cookware, and a full living space with couch, a desk, a hallway, a full bathroom and bedroom. Needless to say, as a mom on a budget, we were very spoiled here. I can only hope we catch a great deal for our future trips to D.C. We'd stay here again and again. "Not as good as it used to be"
We had stayed here before and our last stay was much better than this one, I'm not sure if there was a change in management or what happened but it seems to have lost a lot of its charm, for example they used to have a valet park your car since they charge $30 a day for small cars and $50 for larger vehicles, but now you have to park your own and the […] charge is now called a parking fee rather than a valet parking fee. When we entered the lobby the person at the front desk was rather rude by ignoring me while she continued to use her phone while waited. We ignored it and went to our but our room wasn't clean and the television in the room didn't work. That evening the room was very hot even with the air conditioner set to the coldest it would go. Needless to say the next morning we were ready to leave and don't plan on going back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Awesome shower and the room was amazing, but for the cost I expected it to be. Disappointed that a $200 didn't included parking an extra fee of $30, or breakfast $8 extra per a person!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room (actually one bedroom, one living room and a kitchen for the price of one room) was very clean. The bathroom is newly renovated, so very stylish. Lots of closet space too. "Good hotel for the price"
The hotel itself was nice. The roll out couch/bed isn't that comfortable, and when there is only one bed per room, it's a disappointment that it's a queen bed, because I am 6'1" and felt as if it was very short as my feet hanged out the end. Besides that, it had very pleasing and lovely facilities.Genuine Expedia guest review

My girl and I stayed here for a business conference going on at the hotel across the street. The hotel was very beautiful inside and the room was great. The room has full kitchen with everything you need, so if your gonna stay here bring your own food. Bring slippers also because the floors are all tile so your feet gets cold. The room was very big […] and clean you can easily have 3-4 people staying there cuz it has a couch and tv and stuff. Oh Also there is a parking charge at the hotel each night i cant tell you the rate cuz it says not to but call the hotel to find out. But you can park on the street for free saturday after 830pm and all day sunday. The room is the cleanest room we have seen at a hotel in a while. The Bed is very comfortable, and the shower is even better. The location for us was really convenient for us cause it was literally right behind the Marriott marquis which is where the conference was being held. The only things that i didn't entirely appreciate is how the hotel service was treating me/neighborhood and the price. The guy at the front acted like he hated his job, which reflected on us and other guests. The neighborhood is not a pretty sight at night especially at the parks. And the price was kinda fair for a nice room like ours but if your just staying for a day or two fnd the cheapest room possible. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very nice, clean and the staff were friendly. The suite was well stocked with everything, the kitchen was awesome! Our only complaint is , we wish they would have been more informative as far as restaurants ect. We did ask for info for restaurants,[ we were not familiar with the area] and they didnt seem to be very familiar with the area […] either. Be sure to call for taxis, if you have any health issues, because you would have to walk alot to find any good restaurants. It is only 2 miles from the White house, but if you dont know your way around like us, you end up walking a lot more then 2. This is a busy time of the year, and we had a VERY hard time finding an available taxi . We were looking for a place to have dinner and ended up 1 or 2 blocks away, in a bad part of the city. We got sandwiches , and took them back to our room! Next time we will plan a lot better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for the location"
I stayed here for two weeks on business. The location was excellent, especially considering that the very expensive new Marquis hotel is across the street. I could leave my room and go across the street to the Marquis' Starbucks and be back in my room with coffee in minutes. There were just little maintainance details that could have been improved. […] Burnt out lightbulbs in my room. Broken glass on the floor from the previous guest that never got cleaned. A slight smell in my room (like old liquor or something). But for the price, this is a fantastic find. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Competitive prices, very large rooms, full kitchen"
Was attending a conference less than two blocks away and saved a lot of money by staying at the Eldon. Nice little hotel, very convenient if you want to be within walking distance of the conference center. The rooms are HUGE - comes with full kitchen and a separate bathroom and bedroom area, along with a sitting area and TV. Would have liked to have […] had a TV in bedroom area as well, but could live without it! Everything was clean and stay was uneventful, which was good. Staff were very nice - helped arrange car service back to the airport, which was affordable and pleasant. In the morning they offer a $6 breakfast which provides great coffee (from a machine that can make many different kinds of coffees at different strengths), juice, hard boiled eggs, assorted cereals, and pastries/bagels, etc. They offer parking at an outside lot right next to the hotel, which is great. Well worth the money. Only recommendations would be having the safes all working in the rooms, providing a ramp up the stairs to the elevator for disabled persons (or those of us who have trouble lugging our heavy luggage up 4 stairs), and better wifi service - sometimes there were times when the wifi went out and would take a while to come back on. However, the wifi was free, which was also a bonus. Great stay overall, would stay again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

disappointed that the coffee and creamer were not replenished in the room when I arrived. "Hidden Gem DC Boutique Hotel"
What a great deal! You get way more than you would expect for their nightly rates. Every room is a "suite" that includes a fully-stocked kitchen, living space w/ pull-out couch & flat screen, bathroom, and bedroom. It felt more like a condo than a hotel room. The block was quiet, the halls were quiet, and the view on the higher floors is a nice plus! […] Overall, the staff was kind and responsive. The location is ideal for walking around and taking advantage of shops and restaurants in Gallery Place/Chinatown and neighboring Mt. Vernon/Shaw. You can easily get to the metro a block away!
