Welby 57 - London

Room was dirty and disgusting. Everything that could go wrong did. Paper thin walls let you here the people in the next room, and the front door slamming everytime someone walked in or out. Water damaged corners on the ceiling gave it a run down feel. The room never looked cleaned. Stains along all the walls, boxspring looked like it had blood stains […] on it. No good ventilation made the room stuffy. I had to go buy more toilet paper, and reuse the same towel 3 nights in a room because no maid service to provide bathroom essentials. I will never stay here ever again, and highly do not recommend it. Read more

Warm and friendly service. We were made to feel at home straight away. The room was ideal for our overnight stay. Location was perfect and surrounding neighbourhood was safe and quiet. Will definitely be staying again and will recommend to both friends and family. Cheers!

We took an hour to find the hotel. We walked round the place and did not managed to find the check-in block. We asked residents where is the place, but most of them didn't know. There is no signboard at all. Wasted our time dragging our luggages around and didn't find the way. Made us so upset and frustrated. After checking in, our block was almost […] a street away from the reception. We had to drag our luggages there. There is no lift and we had to carry up our luggages to the third floor. Don't believe the picture. It is only one of the many rooms you might get. The room we got had a very small bed not even long enough to be comfortable for one let alone two!! very noisy street since to keep the room cool even when it is only 12 degrees outside must leave window open I wonder what happens in hot weather? We arrived at Welby 57 around midnight in the pouring rain. Seemed like the worst kept building on a nice street. There was absolutely no building signage and no access. Luckily we were able to find out from neighbours that the Welby office is actually at 37 Belsize Park, so traipsed back to find the front door key for 57 taped to the front door of […] 37. Still no information! Back to 57 to find the inside of the building as grotty as the outside. Absolutely tacky and poorly maintained. The area was fine and the room was in a house converted into flats, etc. The room was a complete let down. There was what appeared to be a vomit stain on the carpet, the curtains were tied up with string, the carpet was generally dirty and the TV was not connected to an aerial. Although low cost it didn't manage the basics.

My boyfriend and I were staying in London for 2 nights before we head to Paris, we were on a budget travel plan, accommodation was least of our priority since we were only needed a place for sleeping, but I had a thing with cleanliness, Welby 57 didn't disappoint me with that, it was clean even thought it was at the basement of the building. It was […] nice that the staff gave us free wifi for both nights. The location was pretty awesome, 5 mins walk to Swiss Cottage Tube station and 10 mins to Belsize Station. Overall it was a lovely stay with nice staff, I would recommend to those who are on a budget travel. Read more

I skalaen fra Frygteligt til Fremragende er jeg endt på Dejligt. Dette er ikke et familiehotel, men derimod et fremragende no-service sted med gode senge, TV, betalings wifi (øv), lille køkken med 2 plader + lille ovn og glimrende badforhold. Der er lidt lydt og stedet er brugt, men rent ved ankomst, og jeg sov fortrinligt, så der blev mit behov opfyldt. […] Stort plus er beliggenhed, 2 min. på gåben Swiss Cottage Underground Station + bus 31 til Campden Town og marked, en tur på ca. 6-8 min. Der bliver ikke skiftet sengetøj + håndklæder, og du/I gør selv rent, men til pris og beliggenhed, og en ikke for kræsen rejsefælle/kæreste, kan stedet kun anbefales herfra. ´Vi boede 2 kammerater i en uge og var generelt tilfredse......på trods af no-service Read more

Nøglen til lejligheden skulle hentes et helt andet sted og det opgivne tlf nr var ikke til kontoret. Hvis ikke de fastboende havde hjulpet eller var vi kommet om aftenen havde vi haft svært ved at komme ind. Der var 2 stk håndklæder til 6 døgn og 1 rulle toiletpapir og 2 små stykker sæbe. L'adresse communiquée sur notre réservation était différente de celle du Welby 57- après une heure à tourner dans la rue nous tombons sur le concierge qui nous informe que nous devons récupérer nos clés au Welby 57 et ensuite revenir à cette adresse (annexe de l'hôtel). Il faut noter que le concierge n'a pas hésité à nous accompagner. L'appartamento e' molto piccolo ma e' normale per gli standard di Londra ed e' perfetto per poter visitare la città. Ting der kan forbedres: Det må gerne fremgå tydeligere at nøglen skal hentes på en anden adresse end den man skal bo på. Værelserne ligger meget tæt og der er meget lydt. Der manglede karklud/viskestykke.
