We stayed here for 3 nights and had a very nice stay. The room is nothing fancy, and as some have already mentioned, it has been converted from a multi-bedroom condo into a single room. The bed was firm, but comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, and the room had the basics expected from a cheap hotel such as microwave and microfridge, an assortment of dishes and silverware, and a coffeepot. There were not enough outlets in the room, but we made it work with the extra ones in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean and efficient and soap and shampoo/lotion was provided. The only downside was the walls are very thin so you do hear everything going on outside and in the next room, but the room provided a de-humidifier which helped mute the sounds while we slept. The hot tub was just a quick walk in barefeet. The hotel is a quick 5-10 minute walk into town or to the free Mountain Village Gondola, but we ate in town every night because the prices for dinner was much more reasonable than the Village. We enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner at the Appaloosa Cafe for an excellent steak - highly recommended! And the best part is the room was also a quick walk to the Coonskin chairlift and the lift ticket office at the base. Overall, for the price and what was provided, we had a very nice stay and we would be back.

1. No where to check in and pick up key. 2. No telephone # to call for #1. 3. ONLY BY CHANCE DID WE SPEAK TO A STRANGER ON THE STREET WHO TOLD US TO GO TO TELLURIDE ALPINE LODGING. 4. Extremely pricey for what we got. 5. Why didn't hotels.com tell us to go Telluride Alpine Lodging IN THE EMAIL SENT TO US??????

The "rooms" are just that - a room. They're half the size of a Hampton Inn room. As far as the price of rooms in Tride.... these are really cheap. They're were two of us in the room, as a couple, so the cramped quarters wasn't that big of a deal. We stayed out of the room except to crash at night. There is so much going on in town that you really don't need to spend that much time in the room anyway.
You can hear the neighbors tv, shower, voices... That was pretty annoying on the nights we didn't have enough to drink to not notice. The Lodge is right next to the Lift and short walk to the Gondola. The grocery store is a very short walk as well.
There is no Hotel type lobby, it's just condos by themselves. You have to go on Main street to Alpine lodging Co. to check in and out. Just a few blocks away.
If you are going to Telluride to ski and want a legitimate ski-in, ski-out location, this complex would fit the bill (Keep in mind however, this is ski-in, ski-out for advanced/ expert skiers, NOT newer skiers). If you are looking for a property befitting the character and historic charm of Telluride, keep looking. Unit 4 is a fine place to drag into after a long day on the hill, cook a simple pasta meal and crash on a faux leather couch. The unit is furnished with the very basic necessities. Beds are comfortable, but upstairs room is hot-hot-hot, we imagine even on the coldest of winter days. There is a loud portable fan to be used, but as it has no feet to keep it standing upright, a bit of MacGyvering was necessary to render it usable. The other bedroom has two windows that look out directly over an interior walkway ramp, so the room gets absolutely no light- no fresh air. Very dreary and we imagine cold-cold-cold in the winter, as it was quite cold in the summer. For connectivity needs, Wifi was unreliable.
On the positive side: Clean, nice view, and most necessities were in working order (other than a broken blow dryer and ripped patio door screen). And, location is perfect. Ski in and walk to town & the gondola in minutes.
Stayed 3 nights in Unit # 15 with family members. We stayed during a relatively "off" weekend as there were no rowdy festivals in town. I believe most of the units were unoccupied as we saw few folks milling around and the only people near us seemed to be runners of the Imogene Pass Run, same as us. As the result, there was no noise other than the babble of the adjacent river and the whisper of wind in the pines of the adjacent ski runs. This unit has three bedrooms with 3 full baths. I think rooms could be locked off if you wanted to spend less for a smaller family. The unit is on two levels with the master bedroom upstair. Counting all beds, including a sleeper sofa in the master bedroom, you could sleep 8 comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked and we had no problems preparing nearly all of our meals in the unit. The living area is comfortable and there is wi-fi available in all rooms. Towels and bedding are comfortable and the bathrooms are functional. There is a mini washer/dryer in the unit and a larger laundromat on site. There is a small restaurant and other shops on the main level. Once you park your car, the town is extremely walkable. We walked/hiked from the condo to the summit of Ajax Peak with no problems whatsoever.
We stayed in #30, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo that sleeps 6 with friends. Location was great, condo was nice and neat, looked like some upgrades or remodeling had been done. Full equipped kitchen, even though we ended up not using it to cook. Comfortable beds, water pressure in showers were good. We would definitely stay here again! Easy access to Main Street, eating and shopping!
i booked a single condo room in the complex. most units are owner occupied, some are seasonal rentals. the room was decent size for one person and comfortable. it had good lighting, 2 twin beds, a table and chairs, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, expanded cable tv, nice bathroom and toiletries.
it was close enough to walk downtown and to the free gondola, and was one block from the river path.
had good heat but no a/c. everything was very clean.
negatives: there were no hangars in the closet; next door plumbing was very loud; garage parking was listed but not available- i was told to park in a nearby street lot. and the laundry was in the locked garage, which i had no access to so it was useless.
Stay was great. Walls are thin so you can here your neighbors. Location was unbelievable. Would absolutely stay again!
These things were once hotel rooms or the developer really wanted the setup to look like the howard johnson road side inn from the outside. They have been redone on the inside and many of them are nice but the structure was never redone or revamped. The walls are still paper thin and you can hear everyone in every direction. We particularly enjoyed the people next door that liked to smoke herb all day. I guess some sort of the ventilation was connected because the smell pumped through our unit the duration of the week. We did not particularly enjoy the squeaking of the bed in the unit above ours in the we hours of the morning. Even below us you could hear a exercise facility blaring music at 6am.
The place was nice, not super nice. Looks like a large hotel room, with a little western flare. Bed was uncomfortable and poor quality. The heat was messed up and it often got real hot or real cold, there was no in between.
The price and the location are great but your not going to sleep well. You may hear all sorts of things at random times, and for me a vacation without sleep is not very relaxing or enjoyable.
First trip to Telluride mid-March 2011. Cimarron lodge is CLOSE to lift, ticket office, and rentals. Ski-in, ski-out...PERFECT. Nice, clean, but not fancy. If you are looking for mahogany and marble this is not for you. Hot tub was nice.
The only drawback to our unit (#28) was that is was right above a noisy bar, with loud music, singing, and partying. If you want quiet in the evenings, DON"T stay in #28.
What a great vacation rental we stayed in. Close to everything in town. We didn't need to use our car once why we were in Telluride because we could walk to everything within a few minutes. Also the building must have just been remodeled beacuse the exterior looked brand new. From our unit we could see the mountains from the living room and we could hear the San Miguel river going by from the 2nd bedroom. Would be a great place to come for skiing as well because the lift was right outside our front door. Our unit was 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths so we had plenty of room. We rented from a private owner and they were very responsive to our needs as well before we arrived. I think our unit was 17.
We stayed in Unit 19. The pricing of this property was high compared with others we looked at but the amenities did not reflect the additional cost. It was ski-in/ski-out, but other than that, I would not recommend it. The condo is oldish, tired looking and in need of an overhaul. Some fresh paint had recently been applied, but there was blue masking tape left all over the place. The condo was not properly advertised -- it said "two bedrooms plus loft" when in fact the upstairs "bedroom" (in reality a loft) was open to the main floor (and thus to the noise associated with early risers and late bed-goers) and the "loft" was wholly contained within the downstairs bedroom. There was no clock in the upstairs bedroom. The complex as a whole is in terrible shape although it is evident that some refurbishment is taking place. The hot tub/spa is old and dirty-looking so we did not use it (and this was one of the amenities we wanted). I wish we'd paid less and stayed somewhere else!
