The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"Hotel Residence du Voyageur"
Could not access the internet. Rooms were noisy, the floor squeaked. The toilet was very small, you had to sit sideways on the toilet. The staff was nice but knowledgeable of my request' Would I go back or recommend it NO. Also I had to park one block away on the street. No parking.

Yes, the room was very small, as was the bathroom. In our room, the sink had been moved out of the bathroom so there was more room for the toilet, etc. The air conditioning was not the greatest. The lobby's small, too. HOWEVER, the staff was very helpful and it's quite convenient to the subway (easy from the airport). Montreal is very walkable! NOTE: […] We happened to be there during the Jazz Festival. While I was watching the weekly fireworks contest from just outside the entrance, two women walked by and asked if I stayed here. They were very upset with their hotel -- not clean and they had bedbugs. WE DID NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM. (I had read of many small Montreal hotels which did.) They inquired with the desk clerk but La Residence was full as, it turns out, were most of the Montreal hotels. So, although it was small, it could have been MUCH worse! Read more
"Inexpensive, close to everything"
The hotel room was small, and the bathroom the smallest I have ever seen! The shower stall was two feet by two feet and 4 inches! The shower head was where my chin was! I have to give a big thumbs up to David and Gary who were manning the desk for their help. David moved my car for me when I couldn't do it myself due to an eye injury as well as directions […] to Notre Dame hospital. Thankfully, the hospital was close by. "Needs Total Renovation"
This hotel is an old, run down & smelly mess. The room had been poorly painted many times over - beds needed replacement - there was so much mould that my wife got sick from it - bathroom was tiny WITH A 3 FOOT BATHTUB - the breakfast was 2 rolls, coffee & orange juice. "La Residence du Voyageur- easy access to city"
The hotel is close to main metro line (2 blocks), also very close to main strip in Latin Quarter with plenty of restaurants and shops. Hotel rooms are small but staff is friendly and very helpful. Many nearby parks are easily accessible by walking.

"DO NOT STAY HERE"
Nothing was as was described. Actually very poor conditions. NO AIR in rooms. Shower was literally 24" by 22" I measured it. shower and toilet in same little area only 4' 4" by 24" Again I measured it. no sink in bathroom. had to go to main room for sink and then there was no lighting over it. "Horrible"
-Complimentary parking - On the street -Bathroom is fit for a child not an adult -Wash basin in the bedroom. -The room was filled with the stench of smoke that your lungs filled up and you waited to get out to the fresh air. -covers had smoke burns and stains (same with the carpet) -Location not too bad close to saint Denis so not too bad. "Hotel La Residence du Voyageur is... interesting"
The bathroom was so small they couldn't fit the sink in it! It was barely big enough for one person to turn around in. The shower was either HOT water or COLD water, no decent medium and barely any water pressure. The bathroom door was also so close to the bed that you had to squeeze to get into it. And the sink was next to the front door. Beds/pillows […] comfortable and clean. We stayed on the 4th floor. Around 615am we could hear someone in the room above us. Every step they took we could hear the floor creaking. This made for an unpleasant sleep. The website says parking is free. Unfortunately, they weren't super clear that this is street parking. Meaning you will have to make sure and be back at the hotel to move your car at 330pm. They also neglected to tell us that we had to move our car on Thursday morning for an hour and we got a $50 parking ticket. Location is super convenient. Read more
"Best budget bang for your buck."
The basics at it's best! Simple, affordable, friendly staff, clean rooms, laundry services, coffee, elevator, location. If your a princess, I suggest you check into the Hilton, this is a basic 2 star hotel with 5 Star service! The Bad... Smaller then usual bathrooms..Get a room with a tub! "Bien reçu"
Chambre petite mais confortable. Au prix que j'ai payé, je n'avais pas à me plaindre et cela m'a satisfait. Le personnel est très gentil. On m'a aidé à transporter mes bagages à la chambre sans même que j'en fasse la demande. Peut-être parce qu'on a remarqué que j'ai de la difficulté à marcher. J'ai apprécié qu'il y ait un ascenseur.

"only a great location"
The staff is very helpful and the location of the hotel is excellent but the rooms are really small, smelly and not confortable at all.

Arrivé sur place, bien accueilli avec cartes, folders , renseignements sur parking etc on déchante une fois arrivé dans la chambre, sombre, vétuste, plancher bruyant, salle de bain avec wc dont le lavabo tombe sous le menton, odeur bizarre du linge, mais le tout d'apparence propre. Petite hotel parfaite pour une personne seule ou un jeune couple. Bien situé afin d'apprécier les plaisirs du centre-ville. L'isolation des chambres pourraient être amélioré.
