The Hotel De Ville was very clean and new, having undergone a very recent renovation. We stayed in a family room with 4 exceptionally comfortable beds. While furnishings were sparse, the rooms were quaint, comfortable, and clean - I repeat myself here because cleanliness is always my number one concern and priority. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We made a last minute booking for New Year, as we have friends nearby in Chateau D'oex and couldn't get a reservation there. As it turns out I was more than happy in the Hotel De Ville, making the 3 mile (5k) trip to Chateau D'oex each day. While there, we skied in Saanenmoser (sp), which was about a 25 minute drive.I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay again without hesitation.

Great location, friendly staff, nice room -- couldn't have asked for more. We had car problems and staff did their best to assist us with making calls to our rental company. The bathroom was a bit small, but not a big problem.

This hotel was as advertised in the three travel books I consulted prior to booking as well as the information on Hotels.com. The location was one block... from the train station making it a 15-20 minute walk to the lakeside via the perdestrian walkway along the metro route. The surrounding area is full of good restaurants, bars, and other shopping facilities. As one of the revieweres noted, it is not intuitive to drive to it by car, but with a GPS we were able to get there without problem. Parking was available as stated. The room was clean, comfortable, and in very good condition, and the bed was excellent, with down pillows and comforter. Breakfast was notable as well. This is a great location and hotel if you want to be in the old town and be in walking distance to the lake. If 15 minutes is too far to walk, you can take the metro which is just a few steps outside and down the hill from the hotel. by Eric from Cary, NC on 08/02/10

Although close to station was up a steep hill however very convenient. Breakfast was good but no hot food component like most others stayed at. Room was spaceous with bar fridge & large bathroom. Inet free on their PC was a bonus. Front desk was very helpful & courteous. Street noise on a Fri night was loud. Would stay there again.
