While there were some issues with the hotel while we were there, our room was amply sized, clean, and comfortable, and ALL of the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. This was our 3rd trip to NYC and first time at Hotel Indigo. The room had Sony Bravia Flat Screen TV, ipod/iphone dock, wood floors and contemporary decorations. We liked it. We had a small issue with the heater and it was fixed immediately. The front desk staff were very nice and gave great service. I used to live in New York and work in the area so I expected a small hotel and that's what I got. It's a reasonable size for the area, but may be cramped for people not used to cities. It's probably because it was winter but I found the air in the hotel room to be a tad dry at night (I have dry skin and this didn't help). Also, I had a non-smoking […] room but I smelled smoke on more than one occasion on a 5 night stay - at some point it got really bad and I had to use my shirt as a mask. Lastly, I want to mention the dumb shower. You may not notice from the pictures, but the glass wall is fixed and only covers half of the left side while you're showing so water will inevitably get out and make the floor wet - wasn't a horrible problem since you're in a hotel and they'll change the floor towel but still annoying. We booked a room for 4 (2 double beds) a month in advance on hotels.com. When we arrived early we checked in, left our bags and went off to explore. Later we got back to get room keys and the desk informed us that they could only give us a king bed and a trundle for that night. We were squished in the room and navigation. No amount of bad snacks from […] the minibar makes up for that! Since the reservation was made so far in advance, I think that they gave priority to non-hotel.com customers. We were there for the hurricane. The hotel never lost power so we were lucky and the staff was great. The restaurant even stayed open with limited hours and they provided limited housekeeping so the impact on us was minimal. We are very grateful!

Great little hotel. Thought the location was terrific. Being in the flower district makes for a relatively quiet morning. We loved the Indigo Lounge on the 17th floor - great views of the south of the city. There is a lovely cafe on 7th Avenue called Gigi's Cafe that we were HIGHLY recommend.

We asked for a room on an upper floor and were initially offered the second floor! I enjoyed my stay at the Indigo Hotel immensely. I was in New York to attend the U.S. Open and this hotel is located very close to Penn Station. My recommendations to the hotel is to have television directories in the rooms and front desk. It took forever to find a specific television station and when I asked the front desk they didn't know nor did […] they have a directory listing the television stations and their channels. For the most part, our stay was okay. The room was clean but the bathroom floor floods every time we showered because of the way the shower is constructed. The service from the staff was rather lacking, and that's what ruined it for us. We called housekeeping for a new towel and an iron -- no answer. The staff was always friendly and helpful ( giving me an early check-in) but they could probably stand to up their attire a little bit.....hip and funky is fine, sloppy is not.
