"Great Hilton experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
We loved our Hilton stay - the location was fantastic, close to McGill University, which is the reason we visited Montreal. I thought the restaurant was a bit pricey - $5/cafe latte is a bit much.. I also think they should inform their guys on the floor to either give proper directions/information or say that they don't know the area. Twice we asked for directions to different places within close proximity to the hotel, and twice we were given incorrect directions.

"Perfect Stay"
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

"best hotel we have stayed in montreal"
friendly staff, room is very clean
"Le Westin, Montreal - great for families."
Great room for a family of 5. Two queen beds and a double sofa bed in a separate room. Clean and comfortable. Nice looking, modern hotel. Concierge and reception staff were really nice. Restaurant was good and open late - useful as we arrived late and hungry. Great to have the pool with kids in tow. 3 small pools in one room. Freezing cold plunge pool, […] warm lap pool, and hot tub pool. All clean and nice. Cool glass bottom to lap pool that you can look up into from the valet parking area. Not always a pretty sight, but fun! Business/office neighborhood, but right on the edge of the Old Port area. 10 minute walk to the river for shops, great restaurants, bike rental, science center, IMAX, etc. Definitely a good hotel. "Great stay!"
We had a great stay at the hotel. Only complain, the parking is very expensive. They charged me $28 per night.

"Le Westin, Montreal"
Lovely hotel. Near Old Montreal. The port is in walking distance. Close to many restaurants, cafes and shops. Well maintained, clean gym with nice equipment. The pool has a glass bottom which you can view by looking up when you are entering the hotel; quite unique. The room was spacious and clean. Amenities modern. Free Wifi.
"Great hotel, great location"
The hotel was nice, staff was courteous and almost all bi lingual. Area is awesome, tons of shopping. The taxes on the hotel room (any room in Montreal) are obscene, but that's not a reflection on the hotel itself. Would definitely stay here again. Hotel restaurant was pricey but absolutely delicious, I would recommend checking it out. I really don't […] have anything bad to say about the place. By the way - all the road signs are in French which is confusing. I would plan on leaving my car with the valet and just walking everywhere. Old Montreal is super accessible by foot, notsomuch by car. Read more
"What an AWESOME Time in Montreal for New Years"
We stayed at the Hotel for 4 days and it was Great! from the doormen, Concierge to staff at the Restaurant. Lot of the sights where in walking distance, Notre Dame, Old Port and Old Montreal. Great time - Cannot wait to do it again! BonJour

"Wonderful"
Loved this place. We have a child in a wheelchair and, although the room we were in was not technically 'accessible', the room was wide enough to allow for his power wheelchair to move around and in and out of the washroom.
"No kids room"
Despite the fact that the hotel description has a "kids room or kids place", they don't have it. Even though my son got a good bag with some toys inside at our arrive.
"Great stay"
Great hotel - staff was generally very accommodating and knowledgeable of the area.
"Excellent venue, highly recommended"
Excellent location - within walking distance of old Montreal (sightseeings, trendy restaurants, bars and clubs) and financial district. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated, with very good views to the city. The staff are very courteous and helpful (resturant suggestions, directions, bookings,...).

"Fine but impersonal"
Everything about the hotel was fine and clean and the staff was nice. The beds were quite comfy and the room was pretty big. It was conveniently located in the old port area and right by a metro stop. However, it was very big and impersonal. It was a bit of a hike to a different wing of the hotel to get to our room, which just made the place seem huge. […] We got it because the price was good, but I would rather have spent $50/night more for one of the cute design/boutique hotels we popped into to check out while we were there, which had much more character, cool bars, etc. Gym was nice - pool was tiny (although families seemed to like it). Free wifi was good. Read more

"Hotel Nice Room but Noise Level in Check-In Area"
After driving for more than four hours, we were looking forward to a quiet retreat. Instead, the hotel had pounding music in the hotel lobby and in the restaurant; there was no getting away from it. We were really disappointed. A hotel should be a hotel not a disco. A restro-bar is neither peaceful nor serene. There should be a restaurant where a tried […] traveler can have a quiet drink or coffee where they can talk without shouting over the music. The room, though was really nice, clean and very comfortable and nicely decorated. Read more
"In between Old Montreal and St. Catherine St."
Le Westin was a wonderful place for our visit. It is just a short walk from Old Montreal, only a few blocks, and a similar distance to St. Catherine St. So this is very centrally located if you are willing to walk a little, giving a flavor of the touristy Rue St. Paul in a few minutes, and the more modern malls of Rue. St. Catherine. The hotel itself […] was very clean and we were greeted by very pleasant staff. Looking up in the entrance was the glass bottomed to the swimming pool, a very cool treat for the children. All the staff speak French and English very fluently, and we had no worries about the language or being treated substandardly for not trying to use what limited French we could squeak out. This is a very nice hotel. Read more

"Westin Montreal"
One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in for months. Thoroughly recommend the hotel for comfort, location and service.
"Not as advertised"
I booked this hotel for several reasons, one of the main reasons was for the swimming pool and sauna. I arrived to find that the swimming pool and sauna was closed. If I had not paid in advance, I would not have stayed. It certainly ruined my stay.
"Excellent hotel, close to shopping and old Montrea"
We visited for a weekend in November 2010 to visit our daughter who goes to Mcgill. This hotel is close to everything and there is a metro stop close by. You can walk to St Catherine Street for shopping and also Old Montreal. Quick cab ride will get you to Mont Royal where you can walk up the steps and take in the fabulous view.

"Le Westin Hotel in Montreal"
We had a wonderful stay at the Le Westin. The room was very comfortable, clean and large enough for my husband, my son and I. The staff was very pleasant, courteous and extremely helpful in locating restaurants and other places and making reservations. The location was great as we were close to everything. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Absolutely outstanding!!!"
The Westin is ideally located in downtown, right next to the Old City. The hotel is beautiful; the rooms are well-kept, modern, large, and have effective wireless access, ideal beds, terrific showers, and a fine TV. The service is exceptional. The only downside, as I experienced it, is that the food options in the hotel are not ideal -- room service […] is overly expensive ($35 for breakfast is not unusual), the downstairs restaurant offers premium-priced, highly mediocre food, and there is not a mid-level alternative. That said, the hotel overall is terrific and there are a number of very good food options nearby. Overall, one of the best hotel experiences I have had - I would recommend it equally highly for families, couples, and business travelers. Read more

"Westin-- classy service"
I had stayed there before and they remembered my name when I checked in!! Also, when I checked out at 3am as I had a 5am flight, they had an espresso coffee waiting for me at the check out counter.

"Not the Quality of The Westins I Know"
In the past week, I stayed at two different Westins ... one in St. Louis and one in Montreal. Considering the reputation of the hotel, I assumed the experiences would be consistent. I was sorely mistaken. The Westin in downtown St. Louis (across from Busch Stadium) had all of the amenities you would expect of a property of this reputation ... spacious […] room, quality furniture, comfortable bed, priced as expected. My experience at the Westin in Old Montreal was the opposite. The price of the room was almost twice that of St. Louis, the room seemed dreary, the furnishings bleak, room was cramped, the experience was lacking, service average at best and the hotel seemed old for a property that is less than a year old. I was both underwhelmed and disappointed by my experience. I would not recommend this property ... at least not for the per night price I paid. You should be able to get a better experience elsewhere ... probably for a cheaper price too. Thankfully, that was the only negative experience I had during my stay in Montreal. Read more
"Great Resaurant close by"
We spent two nights at the hotel and had a great time. Both nights ,because the meal was delicious we went to Gibby's. The second night we split a dinner , because the potions are very large.

"First time visit to Montreal"
Selected this hotel because of the Summer Package that included parking and breakfast. Onsite parking accomodated my SUV with bikes. Room was large and comfortable. Bathroon shower was great. Pool was not large, but unique and had unusual features. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I every experienced. Close to everything, and accross the street […] from the metro. You want to stay here. Read more
