Value proposition is good for the purpose of the visit.

good.
"Really nice place to stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
I was very happy on how nice the hotel was. Everything exceeded my expectations. It's not like the Ritz, but it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay there again!

"One night in Calgary"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Over all it was good. Since i was there for a n=oone night stay the area was not an issue, if i was there longer i would like to have been in a different area, but i felt the area to be safe, and that is what really counts

"Pretty good for the price"
The hotel room is neat. Pretty good set of facilities for the price. Breakfast area is small (it is in the hotel lobby). It can get crowded easily in the morning. You get what you pay for. So, don't expect fancy breakfast.
"you get what you pay for"
This is the cheapest hotel in Motel Village in Calgary. The location is excellent, but it is a very old hotel!! The room isn't the cleanest and the supplies of soap, shampoo and kleenex are very skimpy. I can put all that aside, but the mouse was the limit. I think the icing on the cake was when the management hasn't even called us yet like we were […] told would happen!! Well, I wouldn't recommend it and we have alot of trips in the future to Calgary!! "Had a great time in Calgary.."
From the moment we arrived we were treated like we meant more than just a payment in someones account. The staff were very friendly and any questions we had they had the answer too. The rooms were very clean thanks to the great cleaning staff I would highly recemend this hotel to anyone needing to stop over for even one night.... Thank you to all the […] staff.. Read more

"the hotel in calgary alta."
with three people going back to school it was great to find a place not far from our school and cost was what we could handle. We have to travel from sask and it is great to find a place that was what we were looking for.
"canada's best value inn in calgary"
great room, microwave and fridge, clean, downtown,, we got three beds and didnt feel crowded, or broke.
"Good Value"
Simple, not fancy but great value for your money. Rooms are dated but very clean. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable and better than other hotels we have stayed at for double the price. We had a maintenance issue and it was taken care of very quickly. Living in very quite location where there is no noise we didn't find they highway to be noisy […] at all and our room was closer to the front of the property. Stay here if you want something cheap but not on the dodgy side and expect to get what you pay for. Read more

"Ok for the price"
Retro decor but an ok place for the price seems decently kept
"Very convenient, clean,and cheap"
This motel was exactly what we were looking for....somewhere conveniently located, clean and cheap!! The bed was very comfortable too and the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
"the canada best value inn in calgary"
i like the hotel and the service but i did not like the fact the heater was broken but other then that i had a great stay i would do it again
"Simple and clean"
This motel is well suited off the trans-Canada highway in Calgary's Motel Village. Although the building and decor is dated, everything is clean and well-maintained, making the '80's wood paneling seem wholly charming. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. The only slight complaint was that there […] was no coffee maker or kettle in the room, but the free breakfast was only a short walk away in the reception. Overall, this was a very nice and tidy motel to stay in. I would recommend it to others. Read more
Great service.
"Pleasantly Surprised"
We were pleasantly surprised as we entered our hotel room. Being a little fearful that "one gets what they pay for" we were hesitant about booking here. But the room was VERY pleasant. It appears it was repainted recently, everything was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable -- king sized. There was a microwave and small fridge. A light […] breakfast was available. It is located in a prime location along with many other hotels and motels near the football stadium. We came to attend a wedding and Canada's Best Value Inn was in a nice central location for us. "Clean & convenient"
We were quite satisfied with everything especially the cleanliness & the convenience to the Foothills Hospital. Price was reasonable.
"Perfect location ...."
Spent four nights at this establishment .... very clean .... great friendly staff that were more than willing to accomodate your needs as best they could. We thought that for the price you got excellent value for your dollar. If the place is clean and comfortable .... what more does one need. A plus for us was Red Lobster is two doors away and breakfast […] at Phil's next door was good. Enjoy your journey .... Read more
"Much better than I expected."
Everything was good, but noise was heard from next room but it is not big problem.
"location, service, price!!"
The night clerk, Melissa was VERY helpful, kind, and good at what she does, the assitant manager, was also great! I was in Calgary for first time in many years on business and they were great, location was amazing
"Best Value Inn Calgary"
A comfortable hotel. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Continental breakfast was just fine for me.
"BEST VALUE INN"
I had a nice stay there. It is a bit expensive for the services they offer and the condition of the hotel.
"Great Spot"
This hotel is not flashy, but simple, comfortable and convenient. It's the only place around with an outdoor pool.
Not sure how this motel got the rating it did. The carpet had been cut & patched in numerous places. The bath tub was disgusting & the floor tiles were smashed to pieces. The mattresses were horrible & the fridge was wired together with clothes hangers. The lady who checked us in was not even a little bit friendly. However, the chamber maid was very […] nice! Very disappointed. Do not recommend. Read more
A very good hotel for the price. The check in was quick and courteous, the bed comfortable and an adequate continental breakfast
"Lovely hotel, but old"
The hotel (or motel really) itself is nice enough. The staff were courteous and the room was fairly clean, though old. There was no coffee machine or hairdryer in the room, although I was able to secure myself a hairdryer by simply asking at the front desk, and coffee was also readily available there as well. Because of the building's age, we were told, […] not every room picks up the wireless internet. This discouraged me greatly since we were only informed of this upon discovering that we had no internet connectivity in our room, which hindered our ability to make plans for our visit to Calgary. At least there was access to an internet-ready computer in the lobby. The pool was nice and clean and though we only dipped our toes in it was certainly a nice place for children to play, as there were floaties and pool toys readily available and the pool itself only ranges from less than 4-6 feet in depth. The "complimentary continental breakfast" is served from 7-10am, a convenient enough time since all too often breakfast is stopped being served far too early. However it is slightly misleading. This is no breakfast of eggs and sausage, but more of a "help yourself" spread of bagels, pastries, cereal, and coffee. Nonetheless the free breakfast saves money and my boyfriend and I were plenty satisfied with the meal. All in all the hotel was just what you could expect for such a low price. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, providing I could be guaranteed my room would be internet-ready. Read more

I had a very nice stay there. The rooms were very clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They answered all of my questions, as many as they were. The only downside was that it was a bit farther from the city center than I wanted, but downtown was easily accesible either by bus or LTR( light rail train).
"Canada's Best Value - one night turnaround"
very fast easy check-in, check-out. Excepional clean, comfortable room, excellent value for the money. breakfast left a lot to be desired, worst coffee I ever had.
"maintenance"
the hotel is good, clean, convenient, affordable with friendly staff. i like the idea of having that bible in one of the drawers. the only thing that i would suggest is if the room once in a while or not sure how often you do it is to air out the room maybe after every occupant/s leave so that everytime guests comes in it is always fresh. thanks and […] have a good day! "Good all over"
They changed us to the main level since we had kids the room was good i thought it had a funny smell but it was good. The breakfast was free and good the front desk ppl are very nice even the cleaning staff. I give it 4/5 and would stay in it everytime. Also the pool is great
"not as stated on web site"
accomodations quite acceptable but not as booked on reservation. Pool was not heated, no dvd player available, double beds instead of queen beds, continental breakfast serving low end product.
front door wouldnt close and bathroom door wouldnt close and tv didnt work proper
"Canadas Best Value Inn Calgary"
It was a good stay, but it needs upgrades. old tub, tiles in the bathroom are coming apart, carpet is old. But if you're only staying to sleep and looking for a good price, it was fairly good.
"Canadas Best Value Inn - Calgary"
We stayed overnight at this motel while attending the Calgary Stampede. It was within walking distance of the railway station, It was cheap, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Fine for a single night, just for sleeping. The hotel was fairly old and located right on the main highway. Breakfast was cereal and some bakery items, but there […] was nowhere really to sit and eat it. Read more
Pleasant stay. It was very quiet considering it is located near a busy street ( # 1 highway). Good access to train. Nice continental breakfast good enough to start the day.
"Candas Best Value in Calgary"
The rooms are dated, TV are undersized and poor reception. AC units are under sized and noisy. Beds are conferable pool is outdoor and clean with a few broken tiles. Comp breakfast is like having a meal on a packed Bus. Staff are friendly and do there best to accommodate your needs. I stayed in during stampede and was lucky to get a room. I need two […] beds and they had 3 Queens in one room. Read more
"Good price, thin walls"
I booked 2 rooms for myself and my friends. I had a single queen, and they had double queens. In both our rooms, there's a mini-fridge, microwave, table with chairs, and TV mounted on the wall. My room had the sink outside the bathroom, which isn't very hygenic. Theirs had a sink in the bathroom and outside. The decor is dated, I'd say from the 70s. […] The rooms were fairly spacious. The walls are pretty thin and we could hear when other people were walking above us or taking a shower. My friend had problems with the cold water briefly disappearing while he was taking a shower in the morning. They have a nice selection of good quality toiletries. packaged in environmentally-friendly way but no recycle bin. Towels were plentiful for my room: 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 face towels. The bed is quite comfortable, with 3 good pillows, although the spread is thin and a bit scratchy so I didn't use it. They do have a thin fleece blanket with good-quality sheets. A/C was quite loud but cooled the room fairly well (outside temp was 17-22 degrees though). However they don't have a blowdryer in the room which was a pain. There wasn't an alarm clock so you have to use the microwave for the time. WiFi was a bit slow and be careful of which outlet you plug your laptop into. Lobby is quite cramped and didn't make a good first impression of the place. Seems more suited to a hourly rate motel. Didn't use the outdoors pool. I only glaced at the continental breakfast, looked like bagels and cake loaves. There is a McDonalds, Red Lobster, Boston Pizza and Phil's restaurant next door so you don't have to worry about food. It's a good location, being on a main strip with a mall a couple blocks away. I didn't request any special services so the hotel service is 3. It may be inexpensive, but it's not a place to snub if you want a good deal because someone with a BMW was staying there too. Read more
"Canada's best value inn calgary"
The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The people were all very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the TV was too small to view across the room as it was mounted on the wall in a corner. I would defiantly stay there again.
"You Get What You Pay For"
It was a great stay for the price we had to pay. The service was very friendly and helpful! It was easy to travel from this area since it was main road and was very close to the downtown area. Would definitely stay another night at this hotel! Thanks Best Value.
"Great value"
Very easy to find on Route 1 and convenient location if you have a car. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and stay there again next time I am in Calgary. Great value!!!
My room was smelling cigarette, I couldn't sleep very well. I was really uncomfortable.

"Good bang for the buck"
This is an older motel that has been well kept. We were able to order a large room (3 Queen beds) for the price of a cramped single bed room anywhere else in the area. The suite actually had a private master bedroom, which was nice. Smoking allowed, a major plus for us, and it's a pet friendly motel, which may influence our decision a lot next time […] we travel this way. The TV was crap, small and only one of them, as was the reception. The room was nice and clean, warm, with attractive minimal decor. Staff were courteous, and a big bonus was that they respected the do not disturb sign in the morning, something more expensive hotels in Calgary should take note of. Some of us believe we are paying for three days so that we can sleep in for two of them, not argue with cleaning staff. The motel is in a party area of town, so there were some rowdy shenanigans in the area, but the solid construction blocked most of it out. We will be back, for the economical value of the motel, the functional courtesy of the staff, the location, and the size of the rooms, the fully functioning wi-fi, and the easy parking, which is a big factor in an area like this where parking seems to usually be an afterthought. "CANADAS BEST VALUE INN CALGAR"
The so called "Non Smoking" room is totally a fake. The smell is unacceptable. We cancelled our reservation. The lady in-charge attitude was unreasonable mad. One USA customer faced the same situation. This cancellation almost ruined our travel plan and fortunatelly we stayed in other brand name Hotel. Next time, I shall look for the brand name hotel […] even though it may be about $10 more. Next time, we shall check the rooms condition before we pay for it. Read more
"You get what you pay for"
We were attending a wedding so I thought we could get a room at a decent rate. It didn't have to be anything fancy as we wouldn't be spending much time there. This hotel has a convenient location, but is very old. The room was clean, as were the sheets and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but the floor tiles were all cracked with some […] pieces missing and the tub was all chipped. some of the wall tiles had been replaced but they didn't match the originals, and someone went nuts with the silicone. Our room was right beside the housekeeping room so at 6am, we could hear the phone start ringing and it was just about constant. The biggest problem was the hot water heater went out during the night so there was no hot water in the morning. Not good when you have 5 people to get ready for a wedding. Needless to say we checked out and got a real hotel room. The staff were understanding and there was no hassle, however there was no offer of a discount either. This motel would be fine for a group of guys on a cross country road trip, but if you have a wife and kids, forget it! Read more
