Easy check-in. Refrigerator smelled a bit and either wasn't working or not plugged in. Great proximity to our destinations. Courteous staff. Relatively quiet. Road construction out front made access a challenge. Free parking is a big plus. Room was spacious. Excellent walk in shower. We'll stay again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice location but parking is awkward and sketchy"
The hotel is well-located to get to many different activities, and there is a park a couple blocks away suitable for jogging. However, the parking in the back alley is difficult to manage (small spaces) and we had a scary incident back there, though ultimately no harm came. Also, wifi barely worked - generally we went across the street to the Coffee […] Bean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable hotel with free parking.. Good location"
The room was very affordable, and paying roughly $100 a night for a king size bed room for Valentines day weekend was worth every penny. Do not expect much out of the room. Carpet was a bit old but bathroom was new. Free parking is a bonus for most places charge $30 for self parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nah keep looking"
The only good thing about this hotel was it's location. Ok so yes the rooms were clean but extremely outdated. I'm happy that I brought my own sheets . I did not dare walk barefoot as the carpet had stains . Overall, I would not return and wouldn't consider this hotel worth the 140 bucks per nightGenuine Expedia guest review
"bad place to stay not recommended at all!!"
not keeping anything they said was one of the many bad things about this place charging for wifi that doesn't work properly no elevator stinky attitude broken remote for TV broken windows dirty bathroom poor poor shower the whole place is half ways out door it killed the whole vacation....Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cheap, clean, recommended"
Great place for the price. Street is noisy but that's not their fault. Parking spaces are tight for all but a geo metro or similar so use two.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Only compliant was the noise of the air conditioning / heating unit. In all other respects, it was a good value for the cost and close enough to drive in a few minutes to all the museums we wanted to visit. The room was clean and the staff did service on our schedule not theirs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, place to sleep"
Good spot for reaching all parts of LA, but the facilities aren't great. The carpet was a bit on the smelly side, and the bathroom a bit mildewed. The beds aren't very comfortable. That said, it was quiet, we were really just there to sleep, which we were able to do, so it's a decent value. But not someplace where you'd expect a very nice stay. Wireless […] is free but VERY spotty -- almost non-existent over the weekend, slow but steady otherwise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"has the ambiance of a police station"
Just to get to your room you have to go through a few iron bared gates. All the entries are gated off (ugly) which confirms the sense you get about the street and neighborhood. The rooms was reasonably clean and comfortable but very out of date decor and a very loud air conditioner. I took a chance on it because it was close to where I needed to be […] and I didn't want to have to deal with LA traffic and I'd stay their again under the same circumstances but only for $50/night or less I paid around $80. I'm just glad my wife was not with me which is the opposite of they feel when whenever I'm staying in a nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very old and dirty. The bottom of the shower looked black and dirty. The doors to the hotel hallways were left wide open and anyone could have walked through the hallways; safety was a bit of a concern. The linen tablecloth on the table in the hotelroom was dirty from the previous customer. I would NEVER stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was ok. Thought it'd have more to it but it didn't. Reminded of a College do layout and atmosphereGenuine Expedia guest review
Room was clean, shower was large, new, and hot. Price is right. Friendly folks, nice restaurant next door. Will be down there again, and will stay there again. Parking a little awkward, but free. Good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to The Grove and Farmers Market"
Will definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The best thing about this hotel is the location."
This hotel was clean and comfortable but with the bare necessities. The very best thing is the location. It is walking distance to The Grove, Farmers Market and convenient stores. The staff was pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No visitors over after midnight ...?"
I had a friend come over to see me around 11:30pm and I got a call from front desk saying that it was ok for my friend to go in but no more visitors after midnight ., thers no way ill booked this hotel if I knew they have this policy which it's not mention nether on Expedia nor the hotel .Genuine Expedia guest review
"basic amenities, for the price"
it worked, but wasn't top notch . medium ok beds, pillows not great. clean but basicGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was fairly spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also fairly large but had a slight urine odor around the toilet. The water in the sink went from warm to hot....we had no cold water to brush our teeth. We had a second floor room but there is no elevator, only open steps so if you have much luggage be prepared to haul it up. […] The halls had a very strong cigarette odor as did the reception area. The reception staff smoked frequently. I was disappointed as this hotel is very convenient to get to the Grove and Farmers Market as well as a pretty park. It is within walking distance to businesses. Too bad they don't take a little more care. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, great staff, and comfortable stay"
Myself and a friend were here for a week and it was a great stay. We had a room with 2 double beds, and they were as comfortable as hotel beds are (very actually). The staff was excellent; they were super friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself looks a little bit worn, but the rooms are entirely comfortable and very pleasant. It is very convenient, […] close to many sights, and the grove shopping area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very conveniently located. The staff was so helpful and friendly. As with many older hotels the room was a little shabby (grout could use some attention) but overall it was clean. Great to have Fiddler's Bistro right on the premises. Definitely will stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I keep coming back!"
I love the convenience of this hotel. It is a motel really with free parking and a coffee bean across the street...and you can't being able to walk to The Grove in 10 minutes or less. We will keep coming back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"This makes basic look luxurious"
Don't really understand the raves about this place. Sure, it's cheaper than most, but you get what you pay for. This place looks like it belongs on a Hollywood backlot in a scene right out of Fleabag Inn and Suites. Really depressing atmosphere. Probably hasn't been updated since the 1960's. Family stayed in a Best Western up on Sunset for $80 more […] and it wasn't luxurious but at least it didn't put you on suicide watch. Okay, all the snark out of the way, I will say the hotel staff was very kind, pleasant and helpful. The location was great. Right near the Grove and the Farmer's Market (which can't be beat for a great mix of great food). Close enough to LAX. Free parking. Relatively quiet. But, jeez so depressing. So very depressing. I paid a visit to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for an uplift. But hey, if you come to LA to stay in your hotel all day, you have bigger problems than the lighting or the window treatments Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very clean and convenient. We were able to walk to La Brea Tar Pits and the Petersen Museum. Restaurant next door was very good and reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great to have parking included. Some talking could be heard around the cars at night which could be heard in the room, but we don't think the people realized nor did we inform the hotel staff. Very nice, friendly desk personnel. Would stay at the hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed one night for business. The major things I look for when traveling on a budget are costs of the room, free parking/wifi, good wifi, and a clean room. I was happy with all these except the wifi. It was decent wifi but slow at times - trouble loading pages. There was no iron in the room, but the front desk brought one up in a few minutes after […] my request. The building and room decor are a bit unique - felt like a flashback to the '70s. It was close to food, two shopping areas, and Cedars-Sinai. The price was definitely for the location and not the quality (but again, the quality was solid). Overall, this was a decent place to stay and I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
All in all, a great place to stay at a very good price. Good neighborhood, friendly staff, comfortable rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic location for all the sights"
Everything was close by, Tar Pits, The Grove, Beverly Hills. For the price you can't beat it if all you need is a convenient place to sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Never had a problem parking and the restaurant next door was great. There is a Peets Coffee across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. It is basic, but clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A room near farmers market/grove/CBS"
We wanted somewhere we could spend the night because we had an early call for the Price is Right shooting. The parking at the Grove is $24 a day. The room was about $120 with free parking. The parking at the lodge is still hard to find, but we lucked out and got one right outside the lobby. The room was rather spartan but clean. The staff was nice. […] The bistro next door and adjoined to the lodge looked OK and busy. There is a Coffee Bean and Tea across the street, a park and a 7/11 one block down, and another block you can enter through Nordstroms to get into the Grove. If you have your ticket for the Price is Right the parking at CBS is free. It's a little far to walk from the lodge (15 minutes or so). If you need a place just for a TV,shower, small fridge, and a bed while you do the Wilshire and Hollywood thing and don't want to spend $250-$350 a night plus $20 a day to park, then it's OK for you. "Nice place. Great and helpful staff"
We had great help from the Expedia agent and he steered us here. Great location for museum touring and near Farmers Market, west Hollywood. Would stay here again. A bit noisy from traffic but staff was able to accommodate a quiter room. Very comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review

Hotel locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not bad -- i expected worse based on the previous reviews. The bed was comfortable, linens looked clean though i was a little worried about using the towels --- they looked old... Its an ok hotel for a one-night stay the walls/windows are thin and so you could hear whatever's going on outside/on the street...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, location, location"
Is the best feature of this hotel. Accommodations are modest. Bed a bit firm. BUT, within walking distance to the Grove, Farmer's Market, LACMA, LaBreaTarpits, Page Museum. If you don't plan to spend much time in your room while in LA and just need a crash pad, this is the place to be. Staff are VERY friendly. Front Desk guy was a little bit on the harassing side. Other than that it was cool.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location for our visit as we were meeting friends at El Coyote for dinner. If we stay there again would love to try the restaurant they have. The food looked great! And being walking distance to The Grove didn't hurt either.Genuine Expedia guest review
Clean, quiet, comfortable hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
When we were checked in by a young man, they gave my buddy and I a single bed room. When we went back, two people were at the desk. The women at the desk was very abrupt and rude. They did change it, but I found the front desk (woman) not very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
They should pay people to stay there. Hugely disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK if all you want is a place to crash"
Booked five nights ... checked out after Night One. First room, even though it appeared clean, smelled. Staff moved us to another room that was satisfactory, but advised us that we'd have to move after the third night (conflicting reservation). The next morning, staff offered us another room that we could stay in for the duration. Moved our stuff into […] the closet of THAT room, then left for a while. Upon returning late in the afternoon, found some items missing. Decided immediately to check out. The time was just after 6pm. Did not bother the LAPD to document a theft of a bottle of scotch, some rum, two Powerade drinks, and a pair of shoes. I wish i DID file a report, just to get this incident on paper. Despite the situation, the staff felt justified in adding insult to injury by charging us for the second night. Weak security, in a questionable neighborhood. Some duplicity on the part of at least one desk clerk. Ended up at a hotel near LAX. A severe let-down. The location ain't worth it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Good place to stay at affordable price in a very expensive area. Clean, bed was comfy! 1 1/2 blocks from the Grove out door mall and two blocks from the Miracle Mile downtown LA. Very convienent. Restaurant next door is the Fiddlers Bistro! Great food too!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, very budget accomodations"
Pluses are great location, acceptable bed comfort, nice bathroom Minuses are surfaces areas only are clean, forget about shades etc. , small room, minimal amenities. More like a one night motelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice inexpensive hotel with a fairly convenient location. Rooms were clean and comfortable but what really made our stay enjoyable was the front desk staff. We needed a very very early check in and we felt like the staff bent over backwards to meet our needs. I would definitely stay at the Park Plaza again if the need arose. The only issue is that they […] are not very close to any mayor freeway and we encountered heavy traffic on the surrounding streets. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
