Hotel clean friendly helpful staff but hotel is situated beside municipal sewage treatment plant with dreadful smell all the time . Also dogs barking all night until i treathened to check out & amazingly dogs stopped !!!! We were offered a room change but of lesser standard but as dogs stopped we stayed where we were. Great base for our holiday. Very clean and tidy. We paid for a one bed apartment with balcony but unfortunately did not receive a balcony or patio area so the apartment felt quite claustrophobic. Great place to stay ample sized apartments for a large family. The down stairs bath room was an added bonus for those sleeping downstairs. You had to be fit to get to the apartment we where in as there was quite some distance from the entrance lobby to our rooms, although there where ramps for anyone in a wheel chair.

Fab hotel and defiantly 5* . Our room was outstanding. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Excellant staff. Excellent location with amazing restaurants in the area and the bar volare just walking distance with excellent entertainment. Our first apartment had a smell of sewer gas from it but this was solved immediately when we were offered a better apartment. I have stayed here previously and was allocated a superb appartment. That enhanced an enjoyable stay. This time I was allocated a ground level, next to the road appartment...noisey and impossible to rest or sleep, so if you get a good room it is excellent, if yyou get a bad room....forget it !

This hotel is immaculate. The service and kindness of the staff is so comforting. I couldn't rate this hotel highly enough. Will definitely return. It is close to the airport only heard one plane. I rented a car but I didn't think it was necessary, the bus service is very good. It takes the hassle out of driving!

we arrived well early than the check in hour but were showed to our room just after 30 mins. The hotel is clean, well kept, with plenty activities for families, couples seniors etc. The rooms are big, clean, well equipped even in iPod docks! One of the best hotels we ever stayed in :)

this was a great stay. the location was ideal for us but you do need a car. it's only a few minutes from good value bars and restaurants and 10-15 min drive to Los Chris and Las Americas. We were a bit disappointed with the location of our bedroom. Being on the 4th floor it had a view of a roof (although it was a lovely apartment). Reception couldn't move us that night as the hotel was full. The following morning we were given a 6th floor apartment with a lovely view of the sea. Loved the pool area with lots of small areas to relax. […] Impressed with the supermarket which was clean, well stocked and well priced. Ate in the restaurant and enjoyed it. The staff were all helpful and friendly. There is a bit of refurbishment going on but it doesn't disturb and it's good to see improvements being made. Had a car so didn't use the bus service but there are lots of places to explore and you're close to the biz if that's your thing. You can walk along the coastal path to Los Abrigos. Highly recommend The Cave restaurant. It's small but the food is excellent. We'd be happy to stay here again but it might not be your scene if you like loads of shops and wild nightlife. Read more

Very comfortable, well equipped room. Kitchen well kitted out with full oven and hob as well as microwave, and lots of dishes etc. Lounge comfortable, with quite a few UK channels on TV service. Balcony OK for 2 people. Bedroom very comfortable and dark so easy to sleep, except for the ignorant people going along the walkway who ignored the signs saying […] to keep quiet. Staff helpful and spoke good English. Pool quite small - and cold at this time of year (January). A couple of minor minus points: Buidling work in lower level by shop was noisy during the day, but think it is nearly finished. Underground parking not clearly signed, and not accessible without a room key card and there was nowhere to stop and unload or even ask about parking as the only spaces at the front of the hotel were for taxis and disabled parking. The only two issues we had were: there were not enough sunbeds around the pool and aside from sunbeds, there was no where else to locate yourself around the pool or near the hotel (the beaches are rocky […] and mostly down a cliff) so you were completely stuck on a hot day. Whilst the restaurant had a great location and views, the service was chaotic and the food looked and tasted as if it had been pre cooked and reheated. We only went once. We spent a week in the Santa barbara, and were very impressed overall. We had a 2 bedroom appartment. It was spotlessly clean and was serviced a couple of times during the week. We did have a slight mix-up when checking in as out room had been given to another visitor with the same surname. But it was dealt with efficciently and we found the reception […] staff to be very helpfull. Lovely swimmingpool area and a reasonably priced poolside bar. We ate in the evening in different resteraunts during the week. The hotel resteraunt named Little Italy was good with live music in the backgroung. Within walking distance (5 mins) of the hotel we found other resteraunts, and we couldnt fault any of them really. best value was in the Aberdeen steah-house just around the corner. 3 course meal for €8.50 was fantastic value as there was plenty of choices for each course, and the grub was very good. Overall, its an ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday. If you are young and want to experience night life as in clubs etc,etc, you would probably be better off staying in Los Christianos, but if its a relaxing quiet holiday you are after, then the Santa Barbara is your spot. (also, just to say, taxis were very consistant in price. Taxi from the airport (Teneriffe south) to the hotel was €13 (thats for 4 x people and 4 bags). we will definately be returning to this hotel. We only stayed one night so did not use any of the excellent facilities, but the 'hotel' service was very good for self catering. The room was a free upgrade from the booked studio and came with tea, coffee,1.5 litre water and carton of milk. Free WiFi in the large & comfortable reception area. Taxi just €12.00 to airport. Bus route to Los Critianos […] and Las Americas. The 'village' of Golf del Sur is a bit run down. Sufficiently busy to get a large beer for €1 on the small front. The marina is pretty good, the 'abandoned construction' hotel nearby signs the econcomic downturn. Read more

No wifi in rooms, no pool for kids, no swimming beach nearby, and no real "town" in walking distance were annoying, but I guess they are working upgrading the wifi and kiddie pool. I was reasonably happy with the place, but I don't know that I would stay here again.

We booked this hotel as a result of reading other reviews & put a special request for a refurbished top floor room overlooking the sea. Taxi to hotel was no more than a 10 minute journey & cost $15 euros. Checked-in & was taking to our room & to say we were pleasantly surprised would be an under statement! Our request had been noted & we got a room […] with panoramic sea views with double balcony (20 foot long). Our room was more like a 1 bedroomed flat, with living space, kitchenette, bathroom with double sink & separate bedroom all very well furnished. Livingroom had a brand new 40" Sony LCD TV, Sony DVD Player & Ipod Docking Station (just as well as we forgot our ipod charger). The bedroom also had a smaller wallmounted Sony LCD TV & again another Ipod Docking Station on one of the bedside tables. Plenty of wardrobe space with enough hangers for my girlfriend & I, nicely furnished throughout & I must add with very comfortable pillows too. The bathroom was very spacious & clean & contained a cupboard which stored the ironing board, iron & sweeping brush. A little bag of toiletories were also left which was a nice little touch I thought! Kitchen was brand new which included all utensils you could possibly need & also included double fridge freezer (& complementary bottle of water), toaster, microwave & kettle (tea & coffee provided). We also used the gym, sauna & jacuzzi facilities. Overall, very impressed and will be coming back - perfect for spending time with your partner! Read more

There is a smell of sewerage at one end of the hotel and as a result we had to move rooms on the first night, however hotel staff were very helpful and didn't have any issues moving us quickly. We have been coming to Santa Barbara for the last 15 years or so and class it as one of our favourite holiday destinations.Aesthetically, the resort is very pleasing, with fantastic sea views,lovely buildings, and very well-kept grounds. Many people find the layout confusing, but it doesn't take long to work it out with the aid of a useful map supplied […] at reception. As far as the rooms go, I have stayed in nearly the whole range, right from a humongous 3 bed with rooftop terrace, a 2 bed elite with rooftop jacuzzi, a 1 bed family with plenty of space, an ordinary 2 bed, and an ordinary 1 bed. All have exceeded my expectations in layout and decor,although strangely I have never yet stayed in a refurbished apartment. The older style ones still have a charm of their own.Not all have air conditioning as yet. On this occasion we stayed in a large 2 bed villa at the front of the resort with superb sea views, air conditioning and every mod con you could think of. My only complaint, was that there was a whiff of sewage, but it only lasted for the first day. We also could have done with a parasol on the patio as the sun was really hot. Around the resort itself, we enjoyed several meals at the pool bar, which were very nice, swimming in the heated pool (no problem with getting a sunbed as we went later in the morning) and entertainment in the W Pub. I also used the onsite supermarket and book library. We didn't eat in the restaurant this time but have in the past with no complaints. Read more
