Hotel H2O - Manila

I was visiting the country with my 2 young daughters and thought the aquarium (Manila Ocean Park) and a stay at Hotel H2O would be a fun thing to do. The hotel was a BIG disappointment. The sheets in the room were NOT changes. I found a condom wrapper under the pillow and visible stains on the sheets. YUCK. When I approached the staff and told the manager, […] they apologized, but then told me they were looking for clean sheets. (Reason being was the hotel was fully booked and they didn't have clean sheets readily available.) COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE as my 2 daughters were waiting for a clean bed so they could go to sleep. Although courteous, the staff was fairly inexperienced and uniformed. We stayed in the Aqua Room - the one with an aquarium wall - which was novel, but then not having a window to the outside was odd. You couldn't tell the time of day. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone I know, nor would I ever consider staying there again. Read more

Room is a bit small. The fish tank is nice, but the lights only operate from 6am - 8:30pm. So a late arrival and you miss much of the night. Can hear some noise from the neighbors it seems the walls are thin. But its a fun experience for a night. Probably wouldnt stay a long duration.

This hotel is nice - some style and comfort in the lounge, however it is part of a greater complex driven towards family entertainment. If u are looking for family entertainment that's fine - look for leisure elsewhere if you are looking for a simple getaway.

we stayed in aqua room 3 days. There is not working light over the table, Internet speed is very low and linens with holes-) water from shower flows to living room. It all is not good for reputation of for 4* star hotel.

The hotel has very comfortable rooms. Very modern shower and amenities. I would reccomment a room with the aquarium in it. One minor detail is thin walls. Noise from neighboring rooms can be heard easily. Overall I would highly reccomment starying here.

Very modern and interesting design throughout. Rooms are slightly small but very high concept with only quirk being that the bathroom walls are glass and quite exposed to the rest of the room (there are roll down blinds though). Next to Lunetta park (large public space) but otherwise surrounding neighborhood is nonexistant besides oceanfront. Other than the shower accommodations, the room was worth it. The best part though was the breakfast! I stayed in 5 different hotels and H2O's was by far the best. The view from the Bayroom was awesome as well.

I used the H2O as a sort of "decompression zone" following my 15 trip from SF and prior to my departure back home. The room was clean and the staff was accommodating. The hotel is located in the middle of an Aquatic Park which is a little strange. The rooms on the outer side face into grandstands and a pool where Sea Lions balance soccer balls and do […] other tricks for a large local crowd three times a day. The rooms on the inner side are all connected to an aquarium so that tropical fish swim by your window as they navigate the circumference of the hotel. Also they play loud music (in my case it was Christmas tunes on a saxophone sounding like Kenny G) in the hallway throughout the day into the night. If you are trying to recover from jet lag, this can be a little annoying. Overall though, it was a nice stay and for my purposes I could imagine staying there again. Read more

Hotel experience as follows: 1. Initial encounter with hotel staff are "hotel Baggage handlers" 2. Check in is at the 3rd floor. It's a nice walk via a crowd to get to the third floor. Ground floor is the entrance to an Aquarium. 3. Hotel Hallway's are dimly lit. 4. Walk another 100 meters to the main street "Roxas Blvd" and you can obtain a passing Taxi but the street to Roxas Blvd is dimly lit. 7. Breakfast at Makan Makan Restuarant is more of a "Brunch Type". i.e chicken feet, pork ribs, siomai, grilled chicken, fried rice, noodle soup, and swimming in cooking oil - fried eggs to order just to name a few. Hotel H2O is a very unique place to stay and enjoy marine life. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. Food is really great if you want to experience varieties of cuisines on there buffet menu. The rooms are comfortable to sleep in, with complete complimentary materials provided by the hotel. The downside though is water gets out through the glass doors since its not sealed and water tends to build in the center outside the shower. Towels are needed to keep the floor dry. Caution to children when using the bathroom. One recommendation is to try their fish spa. Just as the front desk and they will assist you. It's a different experience, must try. Aquatic park and show is something that is available to see when spending time there. Front desk is helpful in helping you get tickets without lining up outside. Overall, definitely returning. Restaurant food was good (Makan Makan) just make sure you order whats in the restaurant and not the menu from the room. There's a lot of things to do at the hotel also as there are some shops below, restaurants and ofcourse the ocean park. Historic sights and Mall of Asia was also just nearby. Downside is that the food in the room service menu was not ok (order through Makan Makan's menu since their food is really good), towels felt a bit cheap and old and as nice as the toilet is to look at the functionality wasn't so good. Overall a very nice hotel. WEe stayed in an aquarian room with a solid wall of tropical fish tank, which was very entertaining. The free breakfast was exceptional with fresh omlets cooked to order. It was indeed an experience to stay at a Hotel by the edge of a waterfront...however the Hotel irself is attached to an Oceanarium and entry to both is one and the same...the Atrium of the building is bare...access roads are still being constructed thus drop-off pick-up is a bit confusing... JMS
