"Outstanding"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Except for the intermittent internet failing, it was perfect!
"Great Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We loved our stay at this hotel and the location couldn't be better.
"Loved Wolf-Dietrich and Salzburg"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Our favorite hotel of our 5-city tour of Central/Eastern Europe. We stayed across the street from the lobby in a newly renovated room. It was so large and clean. The windows had switch activated shades that blocked out the outside world if needed. BIG bathroom with towel warmers. The lower floors under us had some construction going on which was a bit a nuisance but didn't detract too much. Very good location too. Just across the river from Old Town but also close to Mozart museum and Mirabell Palace.
"walking distance to major sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
Staff very nice, quiet, comfortable, cute rooms.Unfortunately, covered in scaffolding, so the view of castle obscured during our stay.
"Convenient to train station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 29, 2012
Great location near train station and bus line into old Salzburg. Room rate was very good but room was facing railroad tracks. Thankfully, the windows kept the noise out. In the attached restaurnt, the smell of smoke was present from the special smoking bar, although the local Stiegl brew was quite tasty. The hotel internet computer uses a very slow service provider which limited our ability to check emails while on the road.

"Pleasent hotel for travelers with limited budget"
It is a combination of a hostel and a hotel. Place was clean. A walking distance from the bus stop. Aprox. 30 min. walk to the city centre. Nice walking or bicycling path near the river to the old town.
"Adequate"
Stayed for 4 nights, the cleaners didnt visit my room on 2 days, leaving me with dirty linen and towels.
"Kolpinghaus Salzburg – clean friendly"
For the amount I paid for I was happy with the room size, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. The breakfast was tasty and typical continental (ie cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread etc.) My only negative was that it was 30 mins walk from centre (5mins on a bus) and the area itself isn't that amazing to look at. Although you can hire a bike and travel […] into town along the river side which is very beautiful. Read more
"Clean, friendly upmarket hostel"
The Kolpinghaus Salzburg was a nice, clean place to stay, and a good base in Salzburg, and good value for money. It is half a permanent base for people working/studying in Salzburg, and half a hotel, which means that the rooms are very basic, and include desks and chairs as well as twin beds, and we got the impression while checking in that this causes […] problems with people expecting a hotel. There are no tea/coffee making facilities, and the restaurant food quality is poor - we ate there one night and the meal consisted of a chicken leg, mash potato and tomato sauce, or couscous and tomato sauce for vegetarians. Again; this wouldn't have been an issue if it was advertised as what it is. The breakfast was a buffet - bread, cheese, ham, jams, cereal - basic but not bad as it was included in the price. The staff were very friendly and the rooms clean, there is a bus stop around a 5 minute walk from the hotel which goes to the centre, and bike hire from the hotel itself. It made for a great base for a few days break, and the cost was good, however, we'd make a recommendation to the hotel: Put a kettle in the room!! Overall, we'd recommend this hotel to people on a budget looking for a place to stay, but advise you to manage your expectations prior to arrival! Read more
"Das Kolpinghaus liegt in zentraler Lage"
Das Haus ist für Kurzaufenthalte gut geeignet. Das Haus entspricht einem gut geführten 2-Sterne Hotel. Die Einrichtung ist praktisch. Leider führen die Metallstiegen an der Aussenseite und der Plastikboden im Innenbereich zu einem erheblichen Lärmbegel.

"Kolpinghaus Salzburg in Austria"
The staffs at the reception were kind and very helpful; The Canteen staff service attitude was very bad. She even refused to help hotel guests to warm up milk; There were two full garbage cans in the room when we arrived the hotel in the late afternoon; They did not organize the beds during room cleaning.
