genuine, picturesque environment, lovely staff, excellent breakfast, very nice neighbours, who let us in as we came 4 hours before check-in, very close to Slovenia´s riviera and ItalyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
By car just about 10 minutes away from the Slovenian beach. The advantages of this hotel are the peacefully silent circumstation, because of its location in a village on a mountain, fresh air, the excellent staff-service and additionally it is a clean hotel. The only disadvantage is the Roman Catholic Church, which is located about 100m from our hotel. […] We stayed there on Saturday evening. On Sunday in the morning at 6 or 7 a.m. the noisy bells from that church heavily disturbed us. Anyway if I summarize everything I will gladly come again to this hotel, but I will not stay there on Saturday evening :-).
Topp restaurert sted litt oppe I fjellet.
"Would stay again!"
The hostel is high up on the hill and finding it was not a problem – there are several roads that leads to it and some could be more challenging than the others. We opted for the room with own bathroom and it was of good size, with high ceiling and it’s quiet. Its location makes it a good base to go to the coast towns (or even a day trip to cross the board to Italy or Croatia!). The place was well decorated, staff are all very friendly and speak good English. The WiFi is okay – may not get reception in every corner but enough to do basic search and review. Breakfast not included but for 4 Euro, you are served with a really nice self-served full breakfast! I enjoyed my stay there.
"This was great!"

Beautiful view and calm surroundings. Very nice breakfast to eat inside or out in the patio. The staff was nice and helpful, they speak english, italian and understand serbian/croatian. When you come by car it is a perfect base to visit all interesting things you can find in Slovenia. Close to the coast, to both Postojna and Rakov caves and Lipica fx. We were there for 4 nights with 3 children and had a room with our own bathroom which was perfect. Free wi-fi not great everywhere but there were places to sit at the good spots! I can recommend this place to anyone as a great budget-stay! Only thing that was not perfect was that it was a little hard to find the first time! If you drive by Izola you find it easier.
"Clean, simple hostel in lovely little village above the sea"
08/01/12 Italialuv Rome, Italy
The Stara Sola Korte hostel sits high up on the cliffs above the Adriatic Sea. It is located in the tiny village of Korte near the coastal towns of Portoroz, Isola, Koper and Piran. The rooms are clean and equipped with bedding, towels, soap and air conditioning. Some rooms have an attached bath with shower while others share a hall bath with shower. The common areas are well decorated and clean. There is wireless internet available in some areas of the hotel, although it does not reach all rooms. The food was average with adequate breakfast choices.
"Perfect for a family travelling by car"

This hostel is a real gem. Location in a small village on the hill just a short drive away from beaches of Portoroz, Piran and Izola is perfect if you are travelling by car. Hostel is nicely renovated and well-kept. We rented an apartment with two bedrooms and it was nicely furnished and clean. There was a small kitchenette, a bath tub and a tv in the room. A beautiful breakfast was served with a separate price. We enjoyded the atmosphere of the village, the beautiful landscape and even the church bells waking us up every morning. Took day trips to cities and beaches close by. Hotel-level living with a hostel price! I recommend!
"Each our wish was fulfilled - new management is trying hard to win loyal customers"

We stayed at the hostel in early June with a group of 22 international participants, on a peergroup workshop on dialogue. As the local organiser, I was surprised to find the hostel in a much better shape than it was in winter (when I booked the place). As it turned out the hostel has a new management team (since April), highly dedicated, friendly and professional: the newly-acquired 'female touch' to the place is evident everywhere - from bright colours in the dining room to the many flowers and plants in and around the buildings (the place now has sort of a Tuscany-meets-Greece-meets Adriatic touch - warm and welcoming. Breakfast consists of yoghurt, fruits, (soy) milk, cereals, cheese, salami, jams, honey ... the choice reminds one of a three-star hotel (rather than a hostel). At lunch and dinner, we had a choice of quality vegetarian or meat-based meals; simple but local, and delicious. As a group, we had quite a few requests (from meal timings to finding special places for our sessions in the surrounding area) - and the kind Ms Mateja has answered them all. At the end, we were (as a group) genuinely asked if there is anything we would suggest as improvements for the future. Our answer: plumbing in one of communal bathrooms does not work. And there could be sweeps/tools to clean up the bathroom after individual use. That's all. Most rooms sleep 4 persons (bunk beds). The hostel is brightly coloured, the rooms are nicely furnished. The real asset however is the new management team, who in our case really met our requests. The hostel is ideal for groups who need a quiet place for work, as it has two workshop rooms, plenty of outside space, and some interesting sights in the neighbourhood (like visiting the seaside town of Piran, which the hostel can organise).
"What a wonderfil location"
11/08/10 Jacks78 Oxford
We stayed here for one night at the end of a week touring Slovenia. The roads up the the village can be a bit hairy but its well worth it. Its perched on a hill overlooking the istrian Mountains, so peacful and picturesque. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but to make the most of it, sitting out on the courtyard witth a glass of wine watching the sun set was sublime. Its a real breath of fresh air to stay in a hostel with such high standards, they also arrange bike hire and there are plenty of wonderful walks to be had. there are two very nice restauraunts in the village also. It is a perfect spot to escape away from everything, i would definatly stay again.

Negativa ristorazione in zona.
