      We arrived at Hotel Rural Quinta dos Poetas on NYE 2012 and stayed for two nights. It was challenging to find the hotel even with Google maps/GPS, Recommend asking for detailed directions. Also, you must have a car as there is nothing within walking distance. We stayed for 2 nights here over New Years. The hotel has a restaraunt that served a delicious 5 course New Years Eve dinner. We were traveling with our 15 month old and the staff was very welcoming (and tolerant) of his behavior. The chef even came out to socialize with us. Overall it was a memorable experience for our family. The hotel and the grounds are quite inviting. In a rural setting, the hotel grounds are quite expansive, with lots of walking areas, pool, play area for the kids, a putting green and even 2 holes of golf. In the lobby area there is a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace and nearby a large dining room for breakfast. The room itself is modest but clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was not available in the room, only in the lobby area.

      We booked 11 nights in this hotel and we would have been happy to stay longer but our schedule did not allow it. Hotel Velamar is the best value for money hotel that we have ever stayed in. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has four floors and the restaurant is on the fourth floor with panoramic views of the sea and surrounding countryside making breakfast and very pleasant meal. Our only complaint was that the bed was hard. The location is very good, there is a wide range of inexpensive restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel and the buses to/from Albufeira stop close to the hotel.

      Easy to find (if you are driving)-w/in the main thourougfare. Hotel furnitures are somewhat outdated. Very helpful staff. wifi is not free and house computers in the lobby (fees).

    The service of the desk staff was particularly good and the employees concerned all spoke good English. They provided us with much useful information and helped to make our stay in town pleasant. On the whole we were quite satisfied with the hotel and it is a good value for money. However, the coffee with the breakfast could be improved.

    We really enjoyed our stay at Sol Argarve. We liked the room - it was clean and the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was functional and quite pretty. OK, the rooms are not big though there is a small balcony to escape to, and there is no safe for valuables. Breakfast could be improved with the addition of fresh fruit and perhps some bacon & scrambled […] egg. Facilities were frugal, but that suited us. There was a bar/cafe attached as a separate entity that offers meals of incredible value. What was really outstanding was the reception - they were like a mini tourist office, actually better than the real thing which was closed for a lot of the time we were there. They also lent us umbrellas to cope with the unexpected downpours. Read more

    The best about this small hotel was the excellent service (we had to leave at 4.30 in the morning and got a small bag with breakfast from the reception). Taxi arrived to pick us up in 2 minutes and it was only 10 min to the airport. A big plus for this hotel is its location close to the wonderful and rustic restaurant Adega Nova. Great traditional portuguese […] food and service! Only a short walk to old city centre and more restaurants. Minus: - not so warm water in shower - smells of after shave in hotel - uncomfortable plastic in bed, possible to remove though. Overall great value for money! Read more

    Pleasantly surprised. Excellent value for money. Really convenient for railway station and a short walk from town centre. Friendly English-speaking staff. 24 hour access so great for late arrivals, etc. I'd certainly stay there next time I'm in town.

    Wir waren nur für eine Nacht im Frühjahr in diesem Hotel. Die Lage zur Altstadt ist echt super, die Zimmer waren sauber und die Mitarbeiter sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Jetzt kommt das "aber" die Betten sind echt hart und erinnern mich an meine Campingzeit mit 2,5 mm Thermarestmatte, wer das mag, ist hier richtig. Die Lage des Hotels ist an einer "mäßig" […] befahrenden Straße, schlafen mit offenem Fenster ist eher nicht möglich, wenn man die Zimmer an der Straße hat. Soll auch noch nette Zimmer im hinteren Bereich geben, die wohl sehr viel leiser sind. Zudem gibt es einen Fahrstuhl und den hört man bei leichtem Schlaf, im ganzen vorderen Bereich des Hotels ab 6.30 Uhr morgens. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück ist eine Katastrophe, aber wenn man zuzahlt gibs Espresso aus der Kapselmaschine. Ansonsten war das Frühstück gut und ausreichend. Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis mit Frühstück passen dann aber. Wir würde bei einem nochmaligen Aufenthalt in Faro aber wahrscheinlich nach einem anderen Hotel Ausschau halten. Read more

    Vi havde en positiv oplevelse på dette lille hotel. Vi bookede for en nat, da vil den kommende dag skulle videre til Lissabon. Servicen på dette hotel var rigtig god. Meget flink og venlig betjening fra den døgnåbne reception. Fri parkering i kælder hvilket er positivt når man har lejet bil.     The best about this small hotel was the excellent service (we had to leave at 4.30 in the morning and got a small bag with breakfast from the reception). Taxi arrived to pick us up in 2 minutes and it was only 10 min to the airport. A big plus for this hotel is its location close to the wonderful and rustic restaurant Adega Nova. Great traditional portuguese […] food and service! Only a short walk to old city centre and more restaurants.
