Casa de Campo Los Pastores - Ronda

Our kids (ages 6 and 13) had a great time and voted Campos Los Pastores to be their favorite of the 5 different places we stayed during our recent trip to Spain. My partner and I also enjoyed peaceful leisurely meals while the kids ran around feeding the ducks and bunnies. The staff were very friendly.

CONS: The Hotel is too far from City Center and it's not walking distance. It's approximately 5 to 6 km walk and 3 of those on country roads with no lights. The beds were very uncomfortable and hard. The service was great. If you want peace and quite, Campo Los Pastores is the place to stay. Ronda is not far by car and there's plenty of parking in the city. Food was great and the wine was too. The map on hotels.com and google indicated that this hotel is close to the parador and lively parts of Ronda. In fact it is 4.5 km away. The road is not appropriate for pedestrians. The countryside is pleasant but there are no walks from the hotel. The lady on the telephone speaks good English the staff at the hotel negligible. The hotel's website claimed the apartment had: a private roof terrace; fridge; sofabed; TV in the sitting room; view of the mountains. None of these claims were true! The apartment was on the ground floor with no terrace or view, or sitting room with sofabed. The TV was in the bedroom and the fridge didn't work. A beautiful, peaceful, lush setting in the rolling countryside a few minute's easy drive to Ronda. 2 pools (one with fabulous water slide) set amongst trees. Ducks, bunnies, deer, peacocks, chickens. This place is fantastic. It's a lovely conversion of a farm house into a number of cottages. The views of the surrounding hills are outstanding. There are two pools, although it was raining when we were there, so weren't able to use them. Instead we were able to light a log fire in our cottage and sit by the fireside in the evening. The staff were extremely […] friendly and happy to help. Despite us arriving at 6pm, they were still able to cater for us for dinner which wasn't pre-arranged. Our only regret was that we could only stay one night. It would have been great to lie by the pool or take advantage of their tours of the country on horseback. Det var en flott opplevelse, særlig for barnefamilier, iom at det var masse dyr rundt omkring ute på hotellet. Ungene syntes det var gøy å få klappe kaniner. Rommet vårt minnet om hotellet i filmen Mama Mia. Det var rent og pent og de ansatte var meget hyggelige, eneste aber er at de snakket veldig lite engelsk. Kjempe koselig og familievennlig hotell. Stort rom med eget kjøkken og uteplass. Barna syntes det var kjempe spennende med alle kaniner og høns som gikk fritt rundt på hotellets område. Det var veldig deilig å kunne reise ut fra den intense varmen i Ronda for et svalkende bad. Ronda ligger kun 7 min unna med bil. Servicen var kjempe bra, de gjorde alt […] for at vi skulle få et bra opphold. De snakker dog ikke engelsk. Vi spiste en middag på hotellet og den var ikke så bra. This is a nice and romantic hotel, with well separated and comfortable rooms. It is fully on the country, about 6 km away from the city center. It has a special setting, as a renewed 'hacienda'. But you need a car to go to the city center of Ronda. It does not have an own restaurant for dinner. A choice of relatively cheap breakfasts is available.

Stayed at Los Pastores in July 2011 with my family while visiting Ronda. Booked a 4-person apartment which was perfect. Clean, airconditioned and perfect size. 2 beautiful modern pools with stunning view. My 2 small kids loved the small animals walking around Los Pastores.
