If your GPS doesn’t find the location just keep heading uphill until you reach the top. It’s by the church. Parking is provided by the town around the hotel which is pay-parking, but apparently no one checks. We found that room was very clean, comfortable and modern. The only negative in the room was that they there are 2 types of heating and the one in the bathroom gets switched off by timer. You can override this, but only if you know how. So our first morning was a bit cold, but once we figured it out with the landlord’s help, the bathroom was nice and toastie the next day. I don’t recommend the restaurant. While the food is good it’s not as excellent as the price suggests, and the portions are small so don’t go expecting to be well fed. We didn’t have breakfast there, opting instead to patronize the local café which had Quiche and coffee at a much reduced price. I must say, though, that the views from the restaurant are stunning and may be worth the price of one meal there. On the whole I found the atmosphere a tad snobby for my taste, but others may enjoy the formality. I would stay again.

This little family run hotel is in an unbelievable location in the Dordogne with an amazing view of the mighty Beynac castle and very close to the pretty village of Castlenaud Le Chapelle with two great riverside restaurants.Very highly recommended

the restaurant was very good, the chef creative. the grounds well kept and lovely. there are two red clay tennis courts, volley ball and the pool is wonderful. nestled in farm country on the Vezere river,the hotel was a short drive from Montenac , a lovely town via back road. The room i had did not have a window, just a large door, which i kept closed at night. The result was a stuffy night sleep. I would choose a different room when i go back next time. But even with that, i considered this hotel a reasonably priced find. the staff was pleasant.

Walk in this hotel and it's 1973 all over again.Although it's looks are dated,and there is no elevator so you're shlepping luggage up stairs,this hotel is very clean and comfortable.Remotely located,it's close to several small towns.Nice on site cafe and restaurant with a large out door patio,and a huge free parking lot.The owners run this hotel and are very friendly and helpful.Great place to relax.

We booked the Auberge as a break driving from the Costa Blanca to the UK and had 2 nights. A very friendly welcome followed by a cooling dip as the day... had risen to 34C. We were offered demi-pension at €110 per room, per night to include breakfast and a 3 course dinner. We found everything to be very nice and reflected previous reviews. Wine with dinner is best value if you choose 'maison' and is as good as bottled. The showere had, I think, broken and one had to hand hold the spray head - otherwise, all was fine. l'hôtel est mitoyen avec un camp de gitans au bord d'une départementale bien fréquentée et aucun éclairage le soir ne signale cet hôtel deja difficile a trouver en plein jour !
