The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

excellent location to the airport, service was excellent. Great to have a real "walk in" shower!

"Nice, comfortable apartment."
We were very comfortable in this apartment. It was big and had a lot of amenities and was fairly clean. There was a mouse that would eat any bread or crackers left out overnight and the sheets had holes in them, but otherwise the place was clean. Had a lovely stay at the blue sheep. i would stay here again. it was so cold in amsterdam that the canals froze, thank goodness for the warm reception at the hotel! Stay here if you want a warm welcome, a homely level of style and class and if you dont like sterile hotels with microwaved breakfasts,... thanks again!

Great wee spot with really sound people and two cool wee dogs. Close to everything and really cosy.

My husband and I weren't expecting such a huge place, and here is a list of what surprised us pleasantly: 1) there was a fully-equipped kitchen nook, with lovely earth tone tiles, complete with convection/microwave oven and coffee maker 2) a nice-size shower area with chic shower curtains, interesting bathroom fixtures, good toilet flush, loads of good […] quality spare toilet rolls 3) Bedroom with cute bedsheets for a romantic theme 4) Nice, thick towels laid on the bed 5) Sitting area with cute sofa 6) Dining table complete with 4 chairs! 7) Daily tasty smorgasbord breakfast (Remember to ask for eggs which Eddie will fry or scramble for you on the spot) 8) Room was nice and warm at night (at first we thought it might get cold since the heating was the traditional type that ran along the windows) 9) Lots of extra pillows and blankets in the bedroom 10) maps of Amsterdam and tourist books in the bedroom What wasn't so good was that the ceiling lights and table lamp were out in the living area on our first night, but we reported it the next morning and they were fixed immediately. It wasn't much of a problem anyway because there were lots of table lights and lamps we could unplug from the bedroom to use in the living area. The stairs are also really steep but they are traditional stairs from 1700s, so if you want something authentic, go for it! Plus Eddie automatically helps you with the luggage :) Read more

Petit appartement indépendant à 5mns de la gare, bien situé dans Amsterdam pour les visites. Accueil très chaleureux. Petite cuisine avec thé et café à disposition. Très propre. Bonne literie. Notre appartement était au 2nd étage. Attention toutefois aux escaliers: très très raides Mais on nous a monté nos bagages.
