This bed and breakfast is brillant I would recommend it. Had it booked for nights but had to leave a night earlier to go home. Excellent communication with the owner before we arrive what buses to take from airport and excellant welcome from the lady we met on the night we arrive Roseanne with giving maps etc for Florence. The kitchen was open at all times for us to make breakfast and the amount of different foods left for us was brillant. I definitely would recommend this bed and breakfast I definitely be back the price has well was so reasonable. Definitely 5 stars all round. Thank u again for a loveky stay.
We stayed for four nights in this Bed and Breakfast. We found it a great place to base ourselves whilst we explored all that Florence had to offer. Upon arrival we were met by a friend of Leo (the owner) who showed us into the place and gave us some great tips and places to go in the city. The accommodation itself is basic but adequate, this boutique BnB is more of a hostel in the way it's set up and run. It is located on the second floor of a building, situated approximately 2.4 kms from the main train station, an easy 30 minute walk, alternatively you can grab a ticket from the tabbac on the corner of the building and catch one of the many buses which head into the station, this takes ten minutes. We found that being a little way out of town where it's a bit quieter was rather nice, allowing us to escape the madness of the centre of Florence. The place itself has only three rooms, one of which has its own ensuite and the other two have a private bathroom and toilet assigned to each room, which you get the key for. The bathrooms are modest in their size but adequate. There is a kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge and freezer. The breakfast each day was of a very basic quality, a tray of pastries (the bulk purchased wrapped in plastic kind) are left in the kitchen, along with coffee, cereal, milk and an assortment of other snacks. Your room, bathroom and the common areas are cleaned each day to a good quality. Our room was a good size, with our double bed comprising two single beds pushed together, the only downside to the room is the fact that the windows opened to the main road into town, extremely noisy when opened, but not an issue when shut. Overall, when you consider the relatively affordable price you pay (remembering the fact that you are staying in Florence) we would recommend this place to others. Great place you have here Leo!
We stayed here for two nights and found the place a very good value for money. The outside location is not as safe at nights, however, travelling from there to the city center is cheap and easy. The rooms are clean and the owner is so responsive and fair. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.
This is a lovely place to stay in Florence. All rooms (all three) have private bathrooms and you are welcome to use the kitchen. Although this is a bnb the owners don't live here so you get the place to yourselves with the other guests.
There is a bus stop opposite to take you to the city centre.
Leo is really helpful and has lots of maps and information for his guests!
Stayed for 4 nights, was met on arrival by Leo who runs it. He was a really nice guy and gave us lots of information about Florence which is more than other places do, so it was great service by him.
Place was very nice and clean, we had the one room with en suite bathroom but don't see how other ones could be a problem as you still get your own just outside the door.
Great WiFi access compared to places we've stayed in, plus good assortment of food in the kitchen for breakfast with tea/coffee available all day which is such a bonus.
Also there were all utensils in a kitchen you need to cook your own meal - which we did - so you can save pennies too on a meal out if you need!
Rooms cleaned each day and in general I was really impressed and loved our stay here - highly recommend!!
Take a good map with you to find this B&B. The tourist information was shut when we were there! Reasonable location, bus to the centre of Florence easily. The manager gave us some great maps and information which was fantastic and included some great restaurants and take away places. The room was tidy and of an acceptable cleanliness. The room was ‘no smoking’ but clearly someone had been smoking in the room. In fact it smelt more like cigar smoke that must have penetrated all of the upholstery,we couldn’t get rid of the smell even after leaving the windows open for some time. The plumbing in the shower was not great, flooded after a short while. Breakfast was average but typical, just cereal and other cold snacks. However, this is reasonable accommodation, it was mainly the off-putting smell of the room that let it down – clearly not a problem if you are a smoker.
We stayed 2 nights. Room is 1 of 3 on 2nd floor, no elevator. Leo ( owner) is friendly, you need to text him 10 min before arriving and he meets you for check in, provides maps and a personalized sheet of must see places and restaurants preferred by locals. Location is outside of city center, you need to take a bus from station to get to room. Tip: buy the 10 euro bus pass ( tabacchi just at left corner of building sells them) if you are there for more than a couple of days, otherwise it's 1.20 for each ride. Room had pvt small bathroom but outside the bedroom, which was as described at booking..when living there realized it's quite inconvenient. I would recommend bringing your flip flops. Would recommend a hook in the bathroom to hang ones clothes at least as there is no place otherwise. No soap, only liquid handsoap provided. Kitchen is open 24hrs- neighbors were up quite late and very noisy our first night of stay. 'Breakfast' consists of packaged pastries, cookies, cereal laid out in kitchen. Some were a bit stale so we had breakfast on our own in town. Only instant coffee available and you have to make it yourself. 2 other rooms in this apartment, I think one has ensuite bathroom.Rooms have no ac or fan, even in oct it got warm in the room and I needed to open the windows- busy and noisy street- though with windows closed the noise is not an issue. In summary pretty basic accommodations not really a bed and breakfast.
We loved loved loved staying at A Beautiful Florence! Leo met us soon after we arrived and gave us the tour of the hotel, and then left us alone after giving us some wonderful advice and directions. I don't think anyone else was staying there at the time, so we virtually had the entire place to ourselves for hours. There was a good wifi connection, comfortable beds, and a private bathroom down the hall. We walked there from the train station, but we could have taken the bus. We found the city interesting enough that we explore it all on foot. We didn't feel the need to use public transportation. However, if we wanted to, there was a bus station seconds away. Having free roam of the kitchen certainly added to our experience. There's a fridge where you can keep your groceries, and also a stove. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay in Florence.
A Beautiful Florence is the perfect place to overnight in Florence. Its great location being just a few blocks (about 3 or 4) away from the SMN rail stations makes it the perfect base for your day tours exploring the city of Florence. When we (my sister and I) arrived at the B&B Leo the manager and I think owner personally welcomed us and showed us around the B&B. He provided us with maps and gave up tips on the attractions and restaurants. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable and very spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped, so it nice when you want to have a home made something :). Over all we were very happy with the B&B and the service we received. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anybody looking for a comfortable, clean and good location for their visit to Florence.
Spacious, basic modern rooms in a beautiful old building. The B&B is rather basic but definitely comfortable with all modern needs. Location is slightly off-center but with a direct bus connection the city center of Florence is easily reachable. The hotel staff (owner?) was a very friendly guy who speaks good English. He was very flexible with our arrival time and upon arrival he gave us a lot of insider tips about things to see and do in Florence. My gf and I had a long and interesting conversation with him and at some point he brought us to a local pizzeria close to the hotel, off the tourist radar. I dare say the pizza we ate there was one of the best of our 9 day trip through Italy. Price/comfort ratio is perfect, I can recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind to take a little more time to reach the city center.
