Villa dei Pini - Monopoli

The hotel was quite, it was way off from the main town so it's isolated. But the hotel was comfortable, nice breakfast spread, helpful and accommodating staff.

Beautiful historic location with lots of shops and restaurants to walk to nearby-- the streets come alive later into the evening. Excellent breakfast included (loved the bowl of fresh tomatoes, which are not typical) on the rooftop restaurant. Hotel staff very friendly. Prior to my trip I emailed for help with a taxi from the Bari airport (about 45 minutes drive with a little traffic and 70 euros in August 2012) and Letizia was wonderfully responsive. The room was spacious enough, and I liked the little kitchenette. The beds were not that comfortable but not terrible and the linens were very clean. Thermarium/spa was nice, but it's too bad that's not included in the price if you book a spa service-- there's a fee to use the sauna, another fee to use the jacuzzi, etc. even though I booked a massage. I enjoyed the little art gallery near the front desk-- cool glass sculptures! The town felt very safe, and people were very kind. All in all a great location & unique hotel-- I'd love to go back for a longer stay. I thought the hotels.com price was an excellent deal.

Nestled just outside the historic center of Martina Franca, this garden oasis from the heat and city make it an ideal place to stay, which we did for four nights. With ample free parking, the hotel is extremely convenient for exploring the surrounding towns of the Valle d'Itria such as Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo and Ostuni by car. The hotel itself maintains an opulent charm from a slightly bygone era - the room while spacious and clean had an extremely dated bathroom with a whirlpool tub/shower combination but no shower curtain or partition. This resulted in copious amounts of water splashing about the floor. This combined with shoddy caulking around the tub left me with a dim view of the bathroom. The room furnishings were dated and tired. The room did include a nice veranda. The reception staff were brusque but efficient and acceptable. The waitstaff were very pleasant to deal with, and the morning breakfast buffet vast - excellent coffee. Your fellow patrons are mostly Italian businessmen, a few tourists and "the regulars". One gets the idea that many of the rather elderly patrons come back for a relaxing stay on a yearly basis and have been doing so for some time. Overall, the hotel is recommendable. Martina Franca itself is a splendid maze of an old town, and not to be missed. Try Piazetta Garibaldi for amazing food.

It was a very nice place to stay. Not a fan of the hard beds but the room overall was spacious and clean. It is a little hidden and hard to find when driving to. Once we arrived we really didnt have the need to leave as all meals were included they even had a night show.

Neat hotel. Front desk did not know how to access the WiFi. Only 2 outlets in the room and both being used. Close to the trulli homes and the zoosafari. Breakfast buffet was amazing.
