The reception by the manager was exceptional and advice given was very helpful. The staff were very accommodating and positive. Notwithstanding, finding the hotel was a nightmare and no one, to include the police, knew about the existence of the hotel. The neighborhood where the hotel was located was quite simply foreboding, the internet did not work […] in my room, and there was no television inside the room. However, the WIFI worked well in the hallways and in the lobby areas. I would strongly recommend using the hotel car service which is about 890 rs one way. The manager is to be commended for establishing a positive environment of helpfulness to the point where he even sent one of the staff to accompany me to the metro station so that I would not get lost. The outstanding manner that I was treated is the sole reason that I would strongly recommend staying at the Shanti Hotel. Read more

Overall I had a very positive experience staying at Shanti Home. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept and clean. They discouraged us from using the bus or train as well as getting around Delhi ourselves. However, if money is no issue, they do provide excellent services. I left my phone there after check-out and they were nice enough to call me about it and save it for once I returned. Perfect! The hotel organised a taxi to collect us from the airport, journey time to the hotel was about 40 minutes through the heavy traffic. We arrived in time for the Hindu Holi festival and were invited to join in with the other guests for an unforgettable experience, followed by a complimentary traditional and sociable festive lunch. We stayed in […] two different rooms as we travelled and then returned. Both rooms were immaculate, cool and simply furnished with traditional Indian wooden pieces. The hotel restaurant is situated on the roof terrace, again simply furnished in traditional style with comfortable daybeds and beautifully lit by candles and lanterns. The kitchen is on view and looks immaculate, the food prepared with care and was the best we tasted the whole trip. The breakfast samosas and crepes are not to be missed. The chef will give cookery lessons which unfortunately we didn't have time to try. The service by all the staff was outstanding, from organising an overnight trip by car with driver to Agra, to sightseeing in Delhi, and even bringing an ice pack, without being asked, to my husband when they realised he had a headache! The wifi is free and efficient, unlike some of the 5 star hotels we stayed in. This boutique hotel is great value and certainly deserves its awards, its small, intimate feel makes you feel part of the family and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to family and friends and if ever we return to Delhi I wouldn't bother looking elsewhere. In particular it was the Chef who showed us around - it seems to be a family run business - or atleast that's how it feels - as everyone worked together.
