My husband and I were very pleased with Horizon Pyramids Hotel. We stumbled upon this diamond in the rough after 4 horrific days at the hostel Royal in Cairo (see trio advisor for that review & picture). When the taxi pulled up to the Horizon Pyramids Hotel we were very pleased with the outside appearance; once we entered the hotel we were greeted by the front doors man who directed us to the reception area. We booked online & requested early check in. We were then directed to an sitting area to wait for our room which they said would be ready in 15 mins while waiting for our room a gentleman came with two wine glasses of punch. Before I could finish my punch the bell man informed us our room was ready. The room was small however it was enough for my husband & I. Our room had an balcony with the pyramid view. We ordered room service; not only were they speedy it was also delicious. I found the bathroom quite relaxing after a day of exploring. The deep tub & hot water was very relaxing. My husband and I highly recommend The Horizon Pyramids Hotel in Giza Egypt.

Nice hotel, free wifi in lobby, free wired internet in room. 2 Restaurants, Italian place was excellent. Best for a one night stay if your soon heading to the airport to depart. 24-hr shuttle bus to the airport leaving every half hour. Airport is literally 2-3 mins away. I also like the staff since a couple of them greeted/responded to me with some humorous sarcasm (somewhat lost art in Egypt)

River view. Adjacent to high end shopping mall. On Giza side of river so not as convenient for Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square and sites on opposite side of river. But is lovely, comfortable excellence. (November, 2012)

"decrepit, well located"
A lot of character in this decrepit throwback, esp the bar. High ceilings, old cage elevator. Great location and good price; loose windows, broken door and bed, hot water takes 10mins, thin breakfast. Walk to metro, or even Museum/Tahrir. They'll send you in an 8am hotel van to the pyramids and Saqarra, for the going rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Style is faded colonial, so a little rough round the edges, but rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, and service friendly. Not sure if they have family rooms, but when I'm next in Cairo without my family I will definitely stay here.
