"An o.k place, fit for 1-2 days of stay at most"
Overall the place is an "o.k" place, do not expect a hotel like rooms or anything. (am surprised it is a 3-star..) We chose this hotel after seeing so many good reviews about it and decided to book it for 6 nights as base of our trip in Belgium. Pros: 1. 15 minutes drive to Brugge 2. next to a really cheap gas station (20 euro cent cheaper than anywhere […] else I passed) 3. really nice owner, really tries to help with everything on the spot Cons: 1. Walls are paper thin, unfortunately for me (am a light sleeper), I had a guest next door that was snoring and it felt as though he was sleeping next to me. also, any guest that was moving around the hallway or even in rooms across our own could be heard really loud. 2. Middle of nowhere, places around the hotel are open until 18:00 at most, after that you will have to drive to the next closet city (brugge) for late dinner / night life 3. The hotel does not offer lunch / dinner, so take this into consideration since you can find yourself coming back to the hotel hungry and having to drive 20 minutes to the closest open restaurant. 4. (Our) beds were bad, had springs stuck in my back in different location across the bed 5. Might sound strange, but the we wished that the coffee during breakfast was hot, the owner boils up coffee when the first people arrive at breakfast, and keep it on the table until the end of breakfast.. so if you arrive late, coffee will be cold.. "Only hotel I could get close to work place"
Overall the hotel was fine. However plans change regularly when away on business. When I needed to alter my booking things got difficult. You need to make it possible to change bookings online. The owner was quite reluctant to change at first. After I had made a very expensive call to you the situation was eventually resolved. Your agent on the phone […] initially was not helpfully at all. It was only my persistence in the matter that got the result. I wanted. Not very happy with the way you operate. I do not experience problems with other online booking agents. You need to smarten up I will not use you again.

"Very pleasant hotel."

At first when we had just arrived to the hotel late in the evening, we were a bit disappointed - the hotel was standing just on the road and bodied no good. But we met such a warm welcome, and everything inside the hotel was so cosy and comfortable, that we forgot our first impression. Breakfast was as home-cooked and very tasty. This hotel is ideal for the short break if you are traveling by car.
"Good roadside hotel close to Bruges and Ghent"

From the outside this hotel doesn't look very charming, maybe like an American style motel. However, once you enter through the cosy reception / bar area, nice, air conditioned rooms that provide all the needed amenities await you. While it is true that the hotel is next to a larger street, I did not find myself bothered by noise at all, and I'm a rather light sleeper. This larger street also has the advantage of taking you to Bruges or Ghent swiftly, making the hotel a good base for visiting the region. You can also go to the beach (Knokke) directly within half an hour. The WiFi in our room was fast and the fact that it is WPA secured is also nice. However, my parents had a room farther down the corridor (far end from the reception area) and they complained that their WiFi signal was really weak. Breakfast offered many choices, eggs can be boiled upon request. Convenient parking spaces, though those on the backside can be complicated to leave.
"Excellent centre for visiting the area if you are driving"

Our room was very comfortable, with good king size bed, and the room had desk, 3 occasional chairs and low occasional table wardrobe and we could move around. There was an excellent bathroom without crystal walls, and with shower above head height for small people. Maybe the suggestions already made in reviews have been acted on. We had clean towels every day and the room was spotless. One bedside light did not work..I am sure it will be fixed. And breakfasts are generous and a cooked breakfast can be requested. The road is quite busy, but the surface is good and the road is flat and engines are stady and even when passing. I do not think any of the rooms windows face the road, and the windows are double glazed and there is air conditioning. You do not need to suffer from road noise. Buy ear plugs if you are a very light sleeper.
"not recommendable at all"

we did not like this hotel. The bedroom is not comfortable at all. It is just in the road and at night you feel like if you were in the road with lot of cars over you. The bathroom has a big crystal instead wall, so that if you want some kind of privacity you have to close the curtain. Terrible!!! I would not come back any more and I would not recommend even to my enemy... And additionally when I express my opinion in the hotel, saying tha it was noisy, they told me that they do not have had any complaint before. Now I understand why: when I wrote my opinion I got an email from the hotel threating me: God will punish me, etc... No wonder that nobody write anything bad...
"Friendly, clean, comfortable"

My wife and I stayed just for one night on the way back to Calais. Very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, lovely bed and especially luxurious pillows, warm room and separate heater in bathroom, plenty of piping hot water. The breakfast was excellent - lots of variety and very well presented. A lovely surprise was the bacon and delicious freshly made omelette - obviously a hotel specialty. The hotel is on a main road but the town of Knesselare is only a 15-20 minute walk, albeit at the moment over an unmade road. Recommended.

"Great central location and value"
09/27/11 MeridianOfSydney Fukuoka, Japan
We chose the Prelude because of its central locaton between Bruges, Ghent and Lille. Free wifi, parking, and breakfast included were attractive features. We spent 5 nights here at Eu90/night. The room was very comfortable with a king-size bed, mini-bar, flat-screen TV with BBC, CNN, etc channels. The bath was just that - the shower fixture was just above bath height - and there was no shower curtain, so showering was done seated in the bath. I would prefer to stand. Breakfast was an adequate buffet, and Marcel would cook eggs as desired. Marcel was great, finding and printing information for us for our trips around the area. All-in-all we were very happy with our choice and would recommend it for anyone going to Bruges, it is only about 20 minutes away by car.
"Outside of the city but a nice experience"
09/30/10 Williamek Brussels, Belgium
This is a cross between a motel and a B&B but of really good quality. Situated just off a busy road, this is not quite what we expected but it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. We went for a weekend trip to Brugge and this hotel offered good value for money compared to overpriced hotels in Brugge. This hotel is a single-storey bungalow run by a nice landlady. It has 10 rooms as well as a restaurant / breakfast lounge. All of the rooms we saw were pleasant, clean and nicely decorated. Given that all rooms overlook the fields and not the main street we had a good night's sleep. Overall this is a good location for city trips to Gent and Brugge but it's only suitable for travellers by car. Also don't expect any nightlife in the quiet villages around
"A very nice hotel"

We sayed for nearly a week in this small hotel. It is very well situated being within an easy drive of Bruges, Ghent and Ypres all of which are themselves interesting. The air conditioned rooms are a good size and well appointed. Most importantly the beds are very comfortable! The breakfasts were excellent and a freshly fried breakfast is available on request. The hotel does not provide an evening meal but there are a number of good restaurants close by. Late night entry is no problem either. The hotel is run by a lady for whom nothing was too much trouble. We were made to feel very welcome. We would happily stay here again
"Très bon hotel"
12/15/14 scb1005 Herblay
