The breakfast is poor and we found expensive the price we paied for one night. In the same week for the same price we had better hotels and better breakfast.

"Excellent!"

A really great B&B with lovely staff! Our room was a good size, with en-suite bathroom. We had access to a huge terrace outside the bedroom door. The breakfast was served between 8 - 10am and was delicious. Cappucinos, croissants, cereals, muffins. The setting of the breakfast room was epic - decorated to a high standard with some beautiful vintage furniture. The location was perfect - just 5 mins walk into the old centre of Gallipoli and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. It's also a few mins walk from Gallipoli train station. The staff were very kind and helpful - they helped us get back to the airport with their driver at a much lower price than the local taxi drivers, and they made sure we managed to have breakfast before the flight even though it was a bit before breakfast time.Highly recommended!

"A very good accommodation in a convenient location. Nothing to complain about."
10/30/11 LR71 Milan
Palazzo Angelelli is definitely a very good accommodation. The late 19th-century mansion hosting the B&B is elegant and very well located on Corso Roma, Gallipoli's main commercial avenue, just 600 metres from the bridge leading into the old town. If you are travelling by car, such a location is perfect, because it's in a central position but outside the old town, then you can easily park free a few steps from Palazzo Angelelli's door. An accommodation inside the old town – which is located on an island – would almost certainly force you to leave your car outside the island and to carry your luggage for at least a few hundred metres. Corso Roma is quite crowded and noisy, but Palazzo Angelelli's rooms are quiet enough, thanks to the old mansion's thick walls. The night we slept there, there was a late night karaoke show on the street right under our window, but once in our room we didn't even hear it. I've got no complaints about our room, clean and comfortable though not very large, furnished in a plain but elegant way, with a comfortable bed and an efficient air-conditioner – something you can't do without on a midsummer night in Salento. The breakfast was very good too, served on a lovely terrace, with plenty of sweets and cakes and a real espresso or cappuccino. So, if everything – location, room, breakfast – was fine, why not grant a full five-bullet rate? The fifth bullet is missing because the price was not very cheap, though not outrageous either. In fact, Palazzo Angelelli was the most expensive – without being the very best – out of the five accommodations we stayed in during our week in Salento. It must be said, however, that a higher price was partly due to Gallipoli in itself being slightly more expensive than other places in Salento.

"Great B&B in the lovely town of Gallipoli"
09/17/09 rogelius77 London
The B&B is set in a wonderful palace in the heart of the new town. We arrived quite late because the italians were being lazy with the trains, but the lovely Patrizia was expecting us with a smile. (the train station only a 3 minute walk away) The room was beautiful, with a small balcony from where you can see the sea, great! it even had a sort of dome-ish ceiling. The breakfast was very good, classic italian with toast, croissants, etc, all very good and a lovely setting to have breakfast in the beautiful terrace. Patrizia was very attentive, she even got a friend to give us a lift to the beach. Gallipoli is beautiful, the old town is only 7 minutes walk away, the beach down there is lovely, food is amazing, really amazing. The new town is nice as well with shops and loads of ice cream shops. The only shame is the hotel is a bit too expensive, otherwise we would have stayed a couple more days.

"Slice of palatial heaven in Gallipoli!"
06/11/09 ozinamsterdam Amsterdam
My parents and I stayed at the Palazzo Angelelli in June 2009. The B&B is just outside the old city centre, but it's only a short 5-minute walk. We had a car, and there was free parking on the same street as the B&B. The B&B was by far the nicest and grandest B&B I've ever stayed in. Our room was spacious, filled with amazingly gorgeous antique furniture, and beautifully decorated. We had beautiful French-style windows that opened onto a balcony that overlooked the street. The bathroom was a little small, but that's normal for European bathrooms. The B&B owner was kind enough to show us through the rest of the house, which resembles an Italian Vogue magazine. It's truly stunning, with gilded antique chairs, chandeliers and antique knick-knacks. There's also a roof terrace with amazing views over the city. I would truly love to live in a house like this! Breakfast was included, and served on an idyllic balcony full of potted flowers. Again, everything was served beautifully and the food divine. The owner of the B&B was utterly charming and could not have been more hospitable. Our lack of Italian was no problem for her. This place sets such a high standard for B&Bs in Gallipoli. We paid 90 euros per night for a 3-person room, which was great value considering the surroundings. Go there! You won't be disappointed :-)

"Panoramico"
