"Not as good as it should have been"
We spent two nights. Great location, lots of space, friendly staff. But: shower temperature stuck & not changeable; one bedside lamp temperamental at best; kitchen area floor sticky and one of us stood on a bit of glass; coffee table in lounge area with ring marks. Bed one of the hardest slept on, too. Kind of stuff that reflected lack of attention to detail. So, like the concept, disappointed with the execution.
"Lovely apartment, though some signs of wear"
Dreamhouse Rothesey is an apartment block in the new town, offering accommodation which has all mod cons and large, comfortable, rooms. The apartment we stayed in showed some signs of disrepair but, overall, we felt it was an excellent and affordable base when sightseeing in Edinburgh. The amount of space on offer for the price is unrivalled in anywhere else I've stayed in the city, however, there are a couple of downsides. First, while it's nice to stay somewhere where there's no fussy reception, when the boiler broke during our stay it wasn't possible to switch rooms or have the problem resolved satisfactorily. The housekeeper was certainly concerned and made a number of calls, but we werent offered a late check out nor was any attempt at an apology made. The result was that we didn't manage to shower before leaving, as no hot water was available. Secondly, it doesn't happen often, but the staff member welcoming us on arrival queried that two men might share a double bed. Easy to get confused, but slightly embarrassing all the same. On both counts, these problems probably lay in a lack of staff training, and whilst we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning, we'd like to see this aspect of Dreamhouse's offer improved.

Stayed at 3 Rothesay Place for 5 nights in late August. The 1 bedroom unit was very spacious, with ample room for an extra bed in the bedroom or common room Clean, nicely decorated, well-equipped, in a quiet, central location --10 min. walk from the west end of Princess Street. Everything worked, no complaints whatsoever. Reasonable price, considering it was the last week of the Fringe. Surroundings felt very safe. Dreamhouse staff was always prompt and accesible for email inquries prior to arrival. Highly recommended.
Came to Edinburgh on the 22nd of June and had a really fantastic stay. Beautiful room, great bathroom and super facilities in order to cook and cater for oneself. The only bad thing (and not rothesays fault) is the limited amount of parking and the immense amount of road works! All in all, would stay here again! Cheers, Simon-Matthew
"Nice place - shame abut the parking!"

Had a lovely stay in Apartment 4 which was a clean, well-presented flat in a central yet quiet location. If only there was parking available close by.....!

Superb apartment!! Faultles. We were speechless when we arrived with how nice it was. Staff were great and gave us an early check in even though we hadn't arranged for one which was an added bonus. Everything was spotless and the facilities couldn't have been better. Kitchen was well stocked with all cleaning equipment etc. Bathroom and bedroom were stunning and really well decorated. Could not fault anything about this property It is well located to Edinburgh centre and to pubs/restaurants for night time Would defo stop here again without a doubt
"Excellent apartments – much better than a hotel!"

We stayed at the apartment No: 2. First thing to mention is the 20 foot high ceiling – such an airy and light space. Despite the enormous size sash windows the apartment is incredibly warm and cosy. The open space living room is well decorated and spotlessly clean. Kitchen has everything from cutlery to washing machine. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk are all provided. I suffer from a bad back and need a good quality mattress to feel properly rested. I’m glad to say I slept like a baby; the bed was excellent in all aspects. Bathroom was spotless. Shame it didn’t have a bath, only a walk in shower but don’t let that put you off. BTW the apartments are located on a quiet street just a short (3-5min) walk from the Princes Street. To sum this up: the location is superb; the quality of accommodation is excellent; staff has a great level of customer service – I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and will be staying here on our future visits to Edinburgh – 5*.

"Excellent! - favorite stay in Scotland so far"

The staff and management were very kind and helpful. Nick met us at the front desk with the keys and gave us a tour of the two-bedroom, two full bath apartment we rented for three nights. The apartment was cleaned every morning at 11am and was given fresh towels and bedding, just like a hotel. The apartment was immaculate, contained dishwasher, cloths washer/dryer, stove and fridge and all the accessories (soap, silverware, dishes, pots, pans) needed. They even stocked the fridge with some water, milk for us, very thoughtful. There was a small grocery store about 1 block west where we picked up breakfast stuff, saving quite a bit of money. This was part of a larger multi-story complex of apartments, everyone was quiet, no parties, no loud noises. Security was good and location was excellent. The building is directly across from Arthur’s Seat and one block south of High Street at the city center, excellent! We stayed in Edinburgh, The Park, Apt. #1 facing west, directly above the parking garage entrance, which did have some noise but not when we were trying to sleep. I would recommend getting a unit facing east, there is no driveway on the opposite side. There was a bit of floor squeaking above us when someone walked, but we were lucky that the person above us had the same sleeping schedule as we did. We would stay again and again…it was our favorite stay while in Scotland!
