Pyramisa Isis Island Aswan Resort - Aswan

Hotels throughout Egypt are severely underbooked since the Revolution, so they're making up the difference by cutting back on revocations and services. Pyramisa is no different: they've closed the chalets, though sites like hotels.com haven't removed these as an option. We booked a chalet but were put in a Nile view terrace room instead (which was mostly […] a view of the trees in front of the hotel). The manager said it was just as nice, but it wasn't that nice, and it was quite a hike to the gardens and pools. We'd also asked for a double, but our room had two single beds, so they pushed them together and declared it a double room! They're making an effort to keep the place up, but walking through the gardens, you definitely get a ghost town vibe. Birds hop around in the lobby and nest in the deserted wings. There's free wifi in the lobby, but it was really spotty. The pools are still nice to lounge by, though. We didn't eat there because we'd heard the food was really bad (and they've also closed most of the restaurants on the grounds). Take the boat to town and eat at Panorama, just a few meters to the left for better and cheaper. We didn't do the breakfast buffet because the one night we stayed, we got up at 3am to go to Abu Simbel. They were right on point with the wake-up call and the breakfast box, though. We had a nighttime arrival and the trip by boat to the hotel, under a full moon, was very dramatic. The hotel is lovely with a full breakfast and wonderful staff. The grounds are beautiful. There is a lot to see in Aswan so it was a wonderful experience.

The hotel star rating is egregiously misleading. This is an old hotel that has, unfortunately, not been kept very well. We stayed at the hotel in January 2012 for one night (thankfully). Room: The room we had was spacious but needs renovation. There were stains on the carpet and on the chairs, and the heating did not work. Some of the power outlets […] did not work. The furnishings, bed mattress & sheets, TV, and general ambiance of the room are very, very similar to a US motel (think Travelodge or Motel 6). Food: See the TripAdvisor and other reviews on this hotel. The food at the hotel is quite poor. We had free breakfast with our reservation and nevertheless ended up taking the boat to the city to have breakfast This is most certainly not a luxury hotel. On our trip to Egypt we stayed at five different luxury hotels in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor, and most of them were exceptional. Hotels.com should really revise the rating on this hotel because it is simply misleading. We thought we booked at 5-star island hotel but found ourselves in, basically, a motel. Read more

One of the best locations I have ever seen in Aswan. Unbelievable view of the Nile River. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Delicious food with a lot of varieties. We used small boots to transfer to and from the hotel. It is in the hart of Aswan and nearby all attractive places. We are planning to be back next winter.

Great luxurious hotel with many options to relax in the surrounding hotel areas on this small private island. Frequent, free boat rides to Aswan's central corniche. Due to the lamentable few tourists who visit Egypt since the revolution, Isis Island has some very competitive on-line booking room prices. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Only minus […] is the not very steady and rather slow Internet connection (though free of charge). Aswan (and Egypt in general) deserve many more tourists, who are hearty welcomed by the Egyptians. This older hotel occupies most of an island located in the middle of the Nile River. It has beautiful gardens and shoreline benches for observing birds, boats, the Nile waters, and the lovely scenery. It is makes a nice getaway from the chaos of the Aswan city center. The free breakfast buffet in the huge, beautiful dining room offers delicious, healthy food. The dining staff is responsive and professional. This hotel is one of two called Pyramisa Isis but we went to the other one first which was in a more convenient spot and looked alot nicer then our hotel even though ours was ment to be a 5 star. Im not sure how these hotels get there star rating but this by far was not 5 star. We had luke warm water only the toilet was leaking inside the bowl which […] left it brown. Our room was at very best 2 star. The staff how ever were very nice and happy to help with anything we even left money by hte pool which was returned to us. But the biggest thing that put me off this hotel was when we arrived the price had changed. It had tax for this and that and ended up being charged in USD which ment we paid at-least $100 NZD more. Was not happy at all with this hotel and recommend you try booking somthing else. Read more

A lovely hotel with everything you need for a really relaxing stay in Aswan. Boats to city every 15 mins 24 hours a day, it couldn't be more convenient. In Aswan, but separated from the hustle and bustle of the town. I think the hotel needs to market itself as a beautiful nature resort in the spring, which is when I stayed. Immaculate gardens with stunningly […] beautiful flowers, very quiet and peaceful, with an abundance of birds, lizards and other wildlife. Fantastic views across the Nile to the city and to the Aga Khans memorial. - One place to recommend is the Monastery, - a very hot walk or camel ride up there, but a beautiful monastery with fantastic views of Aswan. - When we went we were the only visitors all day, apparently, very photogenic and atmospheric. Also go to the Emy restaurant, its lovely, with brilliant staff. Can't recommend the hotel highly enough, its lovely with lots of outside space. Read more

the location is not good, far away from the city center, but they have shuttle bus on the schedule, you can check it first, the room was very nice, and they have a very nice infinite swimming pool, we like it so much, just near the Nile.

Fint hotel, til prisen. Dog tager overfarten fra hotellet til Aswan et lille kvarter. Det er lidt irriterende i længden at skulle tage færgen hver gang man skal noget - det bruger man en del tid på.
