"Perfect Location in Vienna"
I was a bit leary to book the DO & CO because of the price, but gave it a chance since we were only staying one day. I'm happy to report that we have a new 'go-to' hotel in Vienna. This may be the most perfectly located hotel in the world - at least for the main sites in Vienna. It is located in Stephensplatz with the front door of the cathedral being […] perhaps 250 feet from the front door of the hotel. There is actually an elevator to the subway located in the hotel building (outside the hotel itself) so there is no need to take a taxi form the train station, etc. Since you are perfectly located the hotel makes your stay simple and easy. The rooms themselves are modern and designed in an extremely creative way that makes a small european room feel open and airy. The shower was probably the most wonderful shower I've ever had the pleasure of using. The restaurant is very good, but clearly catering to an international clientele, so if you need a break from local cuisine and want thai or American favorites, it is a good option, and not as overpriced as you would assume. Response by DO & CO Hotel Vienna Thank you Ann! We hope to see you soon in Vienna again
The hotel is in the middle of the city right next to St Stephen's Cathedral. It cant get any central than that. It was my birthday when I arrived at the hotel and the hotel gave me a bottle of champagne which was very sweet. It was very convenient to get to places by cab and the subway is literally right next to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and […] the hotel bar at night is convenient for nightcaps. I had no problems to report in this hotel and will likely stay in a DO&CO hotel in other parts of the world. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, centralized location."
We booked a stay at this hotel for its location and boutique charm, as a gift for our parents' anniversary in October, 2012. It was in the heart of all the shopping streets and close to historical attractions. Their room was spacious, had good lighting and an amazing view over the square. Along with the flowers and Sachertorte (Viennese torte/ cake) […] the hotel had sent to their room, there was a "happy anniversary" card in Arabic. Since this was our gift to our parents we were delighted with the hotel's level of hospitality and attention to detail. They enjoyed it so much, they even convinced us to stay there whenever we are in Vienna. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
One of the worst hotel experience in my 15 years of travelling the world. The biggest shock was hotel we expected and paid for was a 'five star' hotel in classy city of Vienna. What we found was a dark, dingy, smelly ( esp 6th floor where reception was situated) and rude uncaring staff, room opening onto another dark and dilapidated building ( which […] was promised as a courtyard). We feel robbed paying in excess of 800 euros without breakfast for 4 nights. The hotel does not deserve three stars and its severe lack of cosy comfort and clean environment make it a poor choice for the city of Vienna, if you are thinking of going there please don't bother. The hotel's entrance was between shops always crowded by people sheltering from rain and sun and you weave through their crowd to lifts with reception on sixth floor so there was no security either . Anyone could walk unchecked from street to lifts and dark corridors of hotel at any time. The hotel could not hide behind décor of questionable taste and call itself designer hotel but there were no locks or latches in either bathroom and toilet in so called family room. There was no sunlight in any room and the air-conditioning control was malfunctioning and we were left in a perpetual cold room and had to wear sweaters all the time even when temp outside was in mid 20s. "Only thing is location!"
We stayed there for a romantic getaway. The rooms are really small. The bed was originally 2 small ones glued together, which I hate. The view sucks and on another building so we had to close the curtains all the time. The staff are either trainees or with no hospitality education, they are not rude, but clumsy. The food is close to horrible (don't […] ever try the black lentil soup, it tastes like sewers) The only thing this hotel has in my opinion is its location. Otherwise don't plan to stay for long periods. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

So if the bed was no convenient for you we would be happy to offer you another room. If you would have told us you would have been invited of course. Never theless I hope you will consider the DO & CO hotel Vienna in the future again ! Best regards from Vienna Michael
Hotel, staff, location, design, food, bar all fantastic the Do & Co made the weekend. Unfortunately we did have a bit of an issue with the room but the staff were on hand to help us feel as comfortable as possible. We were fortunate to be guests in the Dome suit which was just incredible and well worth the extra. A truly unforgettable trip thank you […] to Do &Co. This hotel is in a great location right near Stephansdom. The rooms are modern and well maintained, with the most extensive (and expensive) minibar I have ever seen. ！

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not so great"

My husband and I stayed in Do & Co for 5 nights and we were happy to stay in one of their biggest rooms with Nespresso coffeemaker and a view right at the Stephansdom. Of course the location of the hotel is excellent, and the view we had in our room definitely cannot be beaten. The view and the room and the bathroom were nice (although the towels were different in quality, some of them were rather worn out), but the downside was that it was extremely noisy. We've never experienced that before, not even in hotels in NYC in the middle of Times Square or some other nightlife-district! Unbelievable this tumult and noise from outside! But even more important negative points to us: ...we missed the hospitality of a reception, and a hotel-bar (they have a bar, but it is overwhelmed by people who are not hotel guests) and we missed a lobby. When you enter the hotel there is a small uninviting entrance without a receptionist to meet or greet you. You have to take your suitcases and find your way up in the elevator to the floor where the 'reception' is. When you enter this floor, it is so chaotic with people who are not hotel guests but who are going to have lunch or dinner or drinks in the bar and restaurant that you don't even see the hotel-reception way in the back. You first bump into a small counter with one or two restaurant-hostesses who don't know you are hotel guests and think you are on your way to the restaurant or the bar (even after 5 days no one knew), which was very confusing every time, and it didn't feel very hospitable to us. We found it a very anonymous hotel, not bad if you're okay with that, but we didn't like it. We like it when there is a reception with a staff that makes you feel welcome, and a bar or lobby where you can sit and relax with other hotel guests better than a bar where you have to make reservations (we found it rather ridiculous that for hotel guests there was a white sofa in the middle of the room) We will not return to this hotel, but in our opinion it is an 'okay-place' to stay if you don't mind that staying here will give you a feeling of an apartment instead of a hotel, so may be by changing your mindset you might like it.
"What a nightmare"

From the moment we arrived at the Do & Co it was a horrible experience. We were screamed at by the woman checking us in because there was a mix up on picking us up at the airport. Our travel agent had arranged a car to pick us up and apparently the hotel had sent one also. They wanted to charge us for it and we explained it was never asked for so they backed down. The halls were dark and dingey. Our room was suppose to have a view of the Cathedral and we had a view of the Omega watch store and when we spoke to them they told us that they keep the Cathedral views only for the client that book through them. The breakfast was included and when we went the place was dirty and the purple fuzzy placemats had crumbs all over them. We couldn't find the wait staff and had to go up the the chef to order. We called our agent and told her of our experience and she booked us into The Sacher for the rest of our stay. We were so grateful to get out of the Do & Co.

We stayed for two nights (friday and saturday) at the end of February. Great service right from the moment it was booked. Very helpful staff by email, phone, and in person, arranging for cars to pick us up and drop us off at the airport, as well as a lovely birthday surprise gift. The suite was gorgeous and has amazing views over the square and the church, and room service from the (highly recommended) hotel restaurant was also sensational. Everything we requested (from DVDs to window table at the restaurant) was provided without any fuss. Would love to return.
"My second stay at this hotel"
03/13/15 Dan F Metairie, Louisiana
I stayed at this hotel for the second time, having stayed here the same time last year. I also wrote a review at that time as well and read other reviews. As I mentioned before, the room was nice and the bed was comfortable. In their city view rooms, there is only a shower in the room. If you are looking for a room with a bathtub, you won't find it in the city view rooms or maybe the courtyard rooms and may only see them in suites. Someone mentioned in their review smelling cigarette smoke in the lobby and at the bar. This hotel is advertised as smoke free and I never smelled any smoke. Breakfast again is limited, though you can have them make eggs. The manager mentioned previously that the breakfast cost is less than other hotels. This is a small hotel, with not as many guests as other surrounding hotels, and therefore they limit items to limit waste. I would recommend breakfast only if it is part of the hotel package and if you don't have to spend extra for it, and that goes for any hotel. For me, the value of the hotel is what price you can get it for. IF you can get it for a competitive price, fine. On some web sites, they offer it at a higher price which decreases the value of the hotel. However, I did find the hotel adjusting to a lower rate during my stay. I also think the regular rooms (courtyard and city view) would be good for solo stays and couples, but difficult for families. I cannot say how suites would be as far as families. Would I stay here again? Yes, depending on rate and deal with this hotel, versus other hotels in Vienna I have stayed at and would also stay again. By the way, the bar and restaurant is very popular with the locals, especially on weekends and you will find these areas crowded at night..
"The perfect place to stay in Vienna!"

Our family stayed here over Christmas holidays. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It's in the center of the city across from the Stephensdom in the main square. You are within steps of shopping & restaurants as well as close to all the attractions. The rooms were spacious & modern. The shower was fantastic. Each room included a sitting area, fridge & desk. The beds were extremely comfortable. The heating was great. The bathrooms were enormous & well equipped. The staff was extremely helpful. Each night we received a delicious treat from Demel. These treats were so good that we made a trip to get more treats from the pastry store/cafe itself. We were even given beautiful gingerbread Christmas trees on Christmas eve. The hotel is no smoking which is terrific. We ordered room service for breakfast & were not disappointed. We loved the bar that overlooks the cathedral. There are always places available to guests which is important since it is a popular gathering place. This is the only place I will stay on any future trip to Vienna!
"Fantastic hotel in centre of Vienna"

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in the Do&Co. It is a great place to stay, within easy reach of all the main attractions. We found the rooms to be clean, well designed and generous for a capital city. All the staff are extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a pleasure - sitting in the dining room, looking out over the Cathedral and enjoying all the fresh fruits and pastries etc. Thank you Do &Co - we would definitely return and recommend this to anyone.

"Fantastic Central Location"

The hotel DO&CO did not disappoint although to get to the hotel you do have to cross the main square in which the beautiful Cathedral is situated. The room we stayed in looked exactly like that online and was immaculate. There is a 24 hour room service , but there is no tea/coffee making facilities which is odd for a 5* hotel, the onsite restaurant has a good menu and in the morning this restaurant becomes the breakfast area offering a wide selection of varied meals from which you can choose. The only downside to my stay was the bar area, In the centre of the bar there were white sofas which were allocated to hotel guests .Unfortunately this area was quite small and not at all as comfortable as it looked or would expect. It also made me feel like a fish in a gold fish bowl and would have been much better if one was allowed to sit were one wanted too. Or the window seats were allocated to paying guests so you could admire the view of the spectacular cathedral but this was not the case. As a paying guest of the hotel I did expect to have access to all the hotels amenities and the reason i chose the DO&CO was for the ambiance and the views from the bar which i hardly saw.I also found that on a few occassions there were not enough staff serving in this area as they were quite over stretched with the volumes people . Hence it took a while for your order to be taken. It also became apparent that the bar was quite popular with the locals as there were people there who were not guests. My summary of the bar was SKY TV showing non stop sport ,loud music and loads of single people socialising, more of a club scene rather than a 5*hotel bar. Staff were warm ,friendly and helpful but when staying at a hotel i do not want to be confined to my room when i am paying 5* star prices. Most hotels offer an area for their guest to sit e.g.: a lobby, a reception area or bar to have a quite drink unfortunately DO&CO does not offer this . Therefore, I would have to say i would not return to this hotel.
"Boutique Bar & Restaurant with Hotel sideline"
01/07/15 andhub London, United Kingdom
Great Location, right in the centre of Vienna and 10 mins walk in either direction to all the main attractions. Main Focus on the venue is the bar with stunning views of the Cathedral and streets below and the restaurant above. Best seats in the bar have to be reserved and hotel guests have to reserve them too, otherwise the hotel guests have to sit in the centre of the bar area, away from the windows. No lobby seating or rendevous place for guests to meet up during the stay, but in the bar. This is a bit frustrating as the tables are mostly taken and if you only want to wait for 5 mins for the other people in the party, then you end up standing on the street outside. Food Excellent. Rooms Ok, a bit tired in places, but for a venue as busy as this, then you have to expect some knocks and scratches. Far to much Alcohol in the rooms, looks like an off-licence, and at mini bar prices will not be used. Better to have some of these bottles removed and put in a luxury coffee /tea maker. We didn't want to have the bother of ordering room service, just for a cup of coffee! Staff very friendly and lovely housekeeping team Overall wouldn't stay again as their is no where to go but the bar or your room if you want to sit and relax. Sky TV and the noise in the bar make it very busy all round. The Venue is open to non residents and this is a celeb type bar and restaurant, so you don't expect preferential dining or seating as a guest in either the bar or restaurant.

This hotel exceeded our expectations, it is in an fantastic location opposite St Stephensdom Cathedral and close to all of the main attractions and transport links. The room was modern and well appointed and very quiet at night. The food was great we can highly recommend the Austrian specials and Sushi menu as all were excellent. Breakfast had a good level of choice and you also had the option of freshly cooked items. The bar was amazing with a buzzing atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to visit again.
