Response by DO & CO Hotel Vienna Thank you Ann! We hope to see you soon in Vienna again
The hotel is in the middle of the city right next to St Stephen's Cathedral. It cant get any central than that. It was my birthday when I arrived at the hotel and the hotel gave me a bottle of champagne which was very sweet. It was very convenient to get to places by cab and the subway is literally right next to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and […] the hotel bar at night is convenient for nightcaps. I had no problems to report in this hotel and will likely stay in a DO&CO hotel in other parts of the world. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, centralized location."
We booked a stay at this hotel for its location and boutique charm, as a gift for our parents' anniversary in October, 2012. It was in the heart of all the shopping streets and close to historical attractions. Their room was spacious, had good lighting and an amazing view over the square. Along with the flowers and Sachertorte (Viennese torte/ cake) […] the hotel had sent to their room, there was a "happy anniversary" card in Arabic. Since this was our gift to our parents we were delighted with the hotel's level of hospitality and attention to detail. They enjoyed it so much, they even convinced us to stay there whenever we are in Vienna. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
One of the worst hotel experience in my 15 years of travelling the world. The biggest shock was hotel we expected and paid for was a 'five star' hotel in classy city of Vienna. What we found was a dark, dingy, smelly ( esp 6th floor where reception was situated) and rude uncaring staff, room opening onto another dark and dilapidated building ( which […] was promised as a courtyard). We feel robbed paying in excess of 800 euros without breakfast for 4 nights. The hotel does not deserve three stars and its severe lack of cosy comfort and clean environment make it a poor choice for the city of Vienna, if you are thinking of going there please don't bother. The hotel's entrance was between shops always crowded by people sheltering from rain and sun and you weave through their crowd to lifts with reception on sixth floor so there was no security either . Anyone could walk unchecked from street to lifts and dark corridors of hotel at any time. The hotel could not hide behind décor of questionable taste and call itself designer hotel but there were no locks or latches in either bathroom and toilet in so called family room. There was no sunlight in any room and the air-conditioning control was malfunctioning and we were left in a perpetual cold room and had to wear sweaters all the time even when temp outside was in mid 20s. "Only thing is location!"
We stayed there for a romantic getaway. The rooms are really small. The bed was originally 2 small ones glued together, which I hate. The view sucks and on another building so we had to close the curtains all the time. The staff are either trainees or with no hospitality education, they are not rude, but clumsy. The food is close to horrible (don't […] ever try the black lentil soup, it tastes like sewers) The only thing this hotel has in my opinion is its location. Otherwise don't plan to stay for long periods. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

So if the bed was no convenient for you we would be happy to offer you another room. If you would have told us you would have been invited of course. Never theless I hope you will consider the DO & CO hotel Vienna in the future again ! Best regards from Vienna Michael
Hotel, staff, location, design, food, bar all fantastic the Do & Co made the weekend. Unfortunately we did have a bit of an issue with the room but the staff were on hand to help us feel as comfortable as possible. We were fortunate to be guests in the Dome suit which was just incredible and well worth the extra. A truly unforgettable trip thank you […] to Do &Co. "Modern hotel in Graben- well located"
We enjoyed the hotel - it's facilities are modern (so may not suit all) but we old happily return One disappointment is the hopeless pillows they have - with no ability to change themGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in a great location right near Stephansdom. The rooms are modern and well maintained, with the most extensive (and expensive) minibar I have ever seen. Good restaurant which is extremely expensive and wait-staff are arrogant and somewhat rude. Reception staff were not welcoming and not very helpful or interested in providing customer service.
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Everything about this hotel is perfect, the location right in the centre of Vienna, opposite the cathedral makes its setting spectacular and stunning, it's within walking distance of all the main sites and shopping areas. Within the hotel itself the bedrooms are large, roomy and exceedingly comfortable. The restaurant was outstanding with the quality of food up to the highest standards, the bar was welcoming, buzzing and had the most amazing view. The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and welcoming. For a romantic weekend away this truly was the perfect location and I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful hotel to anyone.

First time I have travelled to Austria, Do and Co, is in the city centre, very convenient for everywhere, very comfortable hotel, sitting in the bar over looking St Stephens Cathedral is amazing, the staff were polite and attentive morning noon and night, a clear winner for me, there are a few things which would have made this stay spectacular, for me would have been less wine and spirits in your room and maybe tea and coffee facilities too, also in the bar it would have been nice to have some of the window seats reserved for guests, as it was obviously a local popular place for local people to meet too, who reserved most of the window seats. (The central seats were for guest only)
"Didn't live up to expectations"

Hotel was very nice but let down in a few places. First what was described as a courtyard view was the building behind, which meant the curtains had to be closed 24/7. Second the noise from the floor above on the floor, lucky we were so tired from travelling. Third one of the reasons we booked the hotel was for the spa, when we went to use it we found it was a ten min walk away. Whats the point of going in the sauna & jacuzzi then out in the cold to walk back to your hotel? Forth the service at breakfast we were checked in on arrival then nothing, we had to go after a waitress to get coffee and order off the menu. But with that aside it was a nice hotel
"A Perfect Stay!"

You won't find an indoor swimming pool; you won't find a gym or workout room; you won't find an expansive lobby swathed in marble with oriental rugs, heavy oils and bronzes from the time of Franz Josef; there isn't a concierge desk and the Registration Desk (which provides concierge services) is on the 6th floor and actually quite small. But if you're looking for a room at a boutique hotel with absolutely cutting edge style at the best location in Vienna, you need look no further. Every member of the team is committed to giving the best in gemutlichkeit personal service from the General Manager who takes a personal interest in interacting with his guests daily to the restaurant staff (who, after one day, know just how you want your eggs and cafe at the fantastic breakfast buffet in the morning) to the front desk staff (particularly the gentleman with the Habsburg whiskers - sorry but I don't recall his name) who seem to be able to make anything happen and to answer any question. The location is unmatched - if you're planning on spending most of your time in the Innere Stadt (which is where most of the museums, cultural resources, and high-end shopping are located and is easily mastered on foot) you will walk by this corner at least half a dozen times a day making it easy to pop up to your room and download packages or refresh or take a late night Wiener melange and pastry at the nearby Cafe Frauenhuber or Cafe Hawelka, or a midnight snack at the wurstl stand around the corner. The views of St. Stephan's and the Graben from the City View rooms are unmatched. If there were two criticisms, one would be that - for better or worse - most every visitor to Vienna finds their way to this corner at one time or another (it's the Viennese equivalent of Times Square) and there can be a bit of a crowd sometimes as you navigate your way back to the hotel - certainly not through any fault of the hotel or its staff and chalked up to staying at the best location in Vienna. The other would be that, although the rooms are clearly a model of space and ergonomic efficiency and were undoubtedly laid out by a very skilled and talented designer, they don't have any significant storage space and consequently you tend to live out of your suitcase to some extent. The showers are just as fabulous as reported as is the B&O television. Glass and natural materials figure prominently and room size, while not lavish, is more than adequate. If you're the type of traveler who is active and literally wants the resources of the city right outside your doorstep while still expecting top flight service, this is definitely the hotel for you and is a terrific value for what it offers.

Husband and I were so glad we stayed at this hotel which was recommended by friends in Europe.the location is amazing..right in st. Stephens square. You can walk to everything, and if you need the metro it is right outside in the square. We booked through Amex fine hotel program so we were so fortunate to have an upgraded, large room facing the church, free breakfast, and the amenity included a ride to the airport! Fantastic value. Our room was modern ,and surprisingly quiet. Had nespresso machine! The daily treats delivered to our room were way beyond a chocolate on the pillow. Staff was very professional and always helpful. We had them book our airport transfers and they helped with restaurant plans also. We were very impressed that when we had to leave for the airport at 4:30 am the staff had prepared fresh juice, hot coffee and just baked croissants. That was truly unexpected and very classy. A great level of service. It's a wonderful place to base yourself for days in Vienna. It also has a nice bar lounge with a view, very popular and they save space exclusively for hotel guests
"Romantic Weekend DO&CO Style!!!"

Just returned from an absolutely wonderful stay (third time) at the DO&CO Vienna - Mr Spangl and his staff went out of their way to make this a memorable romantic weekend for my wife and I. Arrived Fri evening - arranged car service from airport through hotel - courteous and on time (nice Mercedes, costs 10 Euro more than a taxi). We checked in and were given a lovely Cathedral View room on 4th floor - the rooms are great, rainforest shower to die for. Went up to Onyx bar while waiting for our dinner reservation upstairs - we were given a great table along the windows right in front of the cathedral - several reviewers have complained that these are all reserved - they all have reserved signs but are usually actually reserved for later in the evening (10/11 ish) - if you are earlier and speak w/ the hostess, you can usually get one. For dinner, I arranged in advance the corner table in the back/left section of the restaurant - best in the house - quiet, best view of cathedral - the staff had placed rose petals on the table - excellent dinner, great attention to detail. Breakfast, super. The Graben was all decorated for Christmas, the desk staff gave suggestions for visiting the various Christmas markets open at this time. On Sat AM we decided that we wanted to attend a symphony performance on Sun - the one we wanted to see was sold out yet the concierge was somehow able to get us 2 tickets (and not at a huge markup). Thanks to Michael & the DO&CO Staff for making this a memorable trip, look forward to returning soon!

You want excellent customer service then it here. You want great location then you couldn't ask for better location. You want a clean modern hotel then this is it. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. It is far beyond excellence.

My wife and I stayed at the DO&CO Vienna during late November. The hotel is superbly located in Stephanplatz and literally a two minute walk from the U3 subway station, indeed connections to the airport by rail are quick and excellent. The hotel room was excellent if a little quirky but, clean, modern, warm, excellent shower, nice little touches like bed being turned down, small sweet and fresh bottle of water. Breakfast was excellent, attentive staff were very cheery and polite, and service available until 1100 - this is becoming more the norm but on a holiday trip absolutely brilliant. However, there's always a however, the bar in the evening becomes super busy and there is no "residents" reserved area to ensure you can get a seat/drink - this is irritating as was the fact that I could not get a dinner reservation at breakfast time for the same evening. Great that the place is popular, but come on feed your residents - or at the very least make it crystal clear that dinner bookings are required well in advance. We were not advised of this indeed the reception staff really only thawed out on the last day before our departure. If I visited Vienna again I'd stay in the Do&Co, but don't expect quiet sitting out areas and so forth.

Hotel is vibrant and has a great atmosphere. Popular bar and nice design. You feel directly that you are in one of Viennas hot spots. Location is great with subway just a few steps away, cathedral, christmas markets and shopping next door. This is a great choice both for business and pleasure.
"A few shortcomings to be aware of"
11/28/14 Andrew_HP3 Hemel Hempstead, UK
We stayed at the Do & Co for 3 nights. The staff were generally very welcoming and attentive. The rooms are to the standard you would expect for this sort of hotel. Location is excellent and the view of the cathedral is breathtaking. However, there is a philosophical question that the staff can't really address - that this feels like an upmarket bar/restaurant with a hotel on the side. Hotel guests have a reserved area in the bar - but it is in the middle, away from the windows, so you don't get the best views of life in the square below. If you want to sit at a window, you need to reserve a table. We didn't because we wanted flexibility on our movements. Most frustrating here was when we did get a window table but then the waitress put a reserved card on the table & without even telling us when it was reserved from, moved on to the next table. The restaurant was similar in that there is no dedicated area for residents, so we were placed right in front of the self serve wok bar and right by the ordering station. In short we felt that the celebs who visit the bar & restaurant were more important. Because it is popular with locals as a place to be seen, the bar & reataurant are both busy. That is ok, but the hotel lacks a lounge or foyer seating where groups can gather or have a quiet seat to relax and unwind. It also meant that we tended to rendezvous outside the hotel as there wasn't an obvious location inside. We're not sure, but it did look like someone was doing a some sort of deal involving a lot of cash in the hotel entrance at one point with the porter in sight. Our only criticism of the room was the lack of storage space. If you have more than 1 case, you can't access the limited shelving space. That said, there were some nice touches such as the chocolate and bottle of water each night. There was also enough seating in the room for 4 of us to gather for a drink. Note that there are no tea & coffee facilities in the rooms, but there is an extensive minibar selection at minibar prices. Location wise, it's absolutely central, but the centre of Vienna is compact, so we left thinking that a hotel on the Ring - we considered the Ring, Ritz Carlton and Park Hyatt - would have just as convenient and perhaps with slightly better facilities. Overall a good hotel with comfortable rooms, but a few drawbacks you should consider before booking.
